I've emailed or called most of the dealers in a 100 mile radius to get their best price. I've found most to be cordial and quite helpful. The best price I've received so far is $26,400 (including $550 destination). I had one dealer tell me there was no way that was for 4wd. But it is. The best quote is also from the dealer closest to me (less than 2 miles)
My question is this: how much more blood can I squeeze out of the turnip? I'm pretty happy with this deal, but don't want to leave anything on the table.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts on this.
That is seven thousand plus below sticker, and seven thousand seems to have been the target low number
I got a great price on mine, so I thought
I took Honda's 2.9% financing and the finance guy mentioned about a 7 year 80K mile bumper to bumper warranty offered by Honda. We have to put down a $2000 deposit. After 3 year warranty, if we need to fix any problem, the $2000 will be applied towards it. If the total amount spent on maintenance exceeds $2000 then we do not have to pay from our pocket. Otherwise, Honda will return $2000 minus the sum spent on maintenance or the entire sum (if not used) after 7 years. There is a 60 day trial period during which we cancel this scheme and apply the $2000 towards the installment payment.
I would like to know if any of you have signed up for this and what is your take on it. Is it a good deal or not worth it?
Thanks
Doc fees have all been right at $300 or so
TTL right around $2250
OTD $24,050-$24,700 (four different dealers in this range, some with tint/mudflaps)
I'm ready to buy from one of these quotes in the next day, thinking that these really do seem like good quotes. I also can't find a used one here at these prices. Any reason not to buy in this price range?
I'm not sure if you were asking me or 767. I'm in east tennessee. I don't know about the leasing number, but there are a lot of leasing calculators on line that you can look at to give you possible leasing scenarios.
Go get 'er!
I'll post my final deal once it is finalized. Clearly it is lets make a deal time on Honda Pilots. :shades:
'11 GMC Sierra 1500; '98 Alfa 156 2.0TS; '08 Maser QP; '67 Coronet R/T; '13 Fiat 500c; '20 S90 T6; '22 MB Sprinter 2500 4x4 diesel; '97 Suzuki R Wagon; '96 Opel Astra; '11 Mini Cooper S
I had a price $300 cheaper but would have needed to drive 180 miles to close the deal and pick up the car -so it wasn't really cheaper.
Mseenviro, I was just wondering if you could tell me the name of the dealership that you got your price quote?
If there is anyone that has heard of a good deal in VA or NC on an EX-L I would appreciate hearing about it.
What dealership in southern California did you buy your Pilot EX-L from? It sounds like you got a good deal. I am looking to buy a pilot soon.
Thanks for your information.
I believe ultimately you should have some kind of purchase agreement with all out the door costs included clearly listed and the agreement signed by the manager, and have this sent or faxed to your wife or someone else you know. Of course, I dont know if they will hold a particular car until you come back, but you could get quotes, then once you come back, or just prior, solidify a deal.
If you are in a danger zone, or even if you are not, thanks for your service to our country.
The OTD deal I have is for $30,307.75. This includes the EX-L AWD w/RES, Running Boards, Ski Attachment, Destination Fee, Taxes, Registration Fee and Documentation Fee. I have until Monday. I'm thinking of just going back tomorrow morning (Sunday) and signing the deal before they changetheir mind. Any thoughts?
Also, I'm curious if anyone knows what, if anything, will change for the 07 Pilots and whether it is worth waiting? In 4 years, will an 07 Pilot be worth more than $4k more? Probably not, but it's something to think about. Does anyone know when the 07's will be out? I have read through some posts claiming they would start hitting the lots near the end of August. Can this be verified?
As far as 2007 Pilot, I heard from a couple of dealers that there will be no major changes. They told me probably in 2-3 years, since the Acura MDX is getting redesigned in 2007 they want to let that hit the market for a bit before introducing a new Pilot design. what kind of pricing are you seeing?
We got quotes from two Honda dealerships in town to do our daytime running lights. They were both around $160CDN installed. They both had the modules in stock and say they do them all the time.
By the way, does the 28,500 - w/destination include the running boards and ski attachment also - or other accessories?
I am closing my deal today for my Pilot. However I am not in SoCal, but in East Tennessee. I've deals out your way that are also very impressive.
I'll post the final details of my deal when it is done.
That's the best price I've seen so far with all those accessories! :surprise: Those running boards will cost you another $700.00 bucks and those ski attachment would be another $300.00, seems too good to be true :P :confuse: Just hope they stick to that!! By the way did you ask them for a written documentation with the internet managers signature?! They might add some when you go to there dealership... Good Luck!!!
Did they forget to renew?
Thanks
Lit
Did you contact any other NoVA Honda dealers when you were shopping? I am close to purchasing and Hendrick is still a possibility for me.
We took the quote the Madison and they matched it. It was a great experience, the best we ever had in a car dealership. There were no hassles, no nonsense, no trying to sell us chrome bumper trim, etc. The car lists for $31,295 and we got it for $24,414, a 22% discount off the list. Plus, they gave us a good deal on an extended warranty.
Call Madison if you are in north or central NJ.
BTW, I'm over 200 miles from the Bay Area and LA.
The new Pilots seem as cheap as a two-year-old Pilot. My guess is that the market is upside down right now. As the market adjusts, I may find that my Pilot will have depreciated quite a bit. Another odd thing was the amount of interest sales managers and financial managers had in me. Very quickly the salesperson was out of the loop and I was given the managers' cell phone numbers. There seems to be a sales volume competition going on.
Pilot 4WD EX-L with Navi

What does everyone think?
I went to that dealer this afternoon to close the deal. This started with no hassles. They wanted to see the quote for $26,300 from the other dealer. I provided that for them.
10 minutes later the sales manager comes in and says "they've pulled a neat little trick on you. He's quoted you on a 2wd model. There's no way they would sell you a 4wd model for that price." I told him that I had driven the Pilot in question and it was a 4wd. I pulled out my cell phone and called the other dealer and confirmed it was a valid quote for a 4wd.
As I was leaving the smug sales manager said "come back and see us when they don't sell you the Pilot for the quoted price, we're not that far off."
I immediately drove the 15 miles to the other dealer where the internet manager met me at the door. He said "you're getting a great deal on this Pilot. I'm glad I could help you."
I had a preapproved certificate from Honda Financial and I handed it to him. Due to a storm that came through, power was lost at the dealer which kept me from signing the papers. I'll do that on Tuesday.
The lesson learned here is that anything under $27,000 is a great deal. The last $700 was a bonus.
Thanks to everyone on this forum. I'm convinced it saved me well over $1000.
Looking forward to driving my new black beauty home tomorrow. :shades:
