.......did you say that in a previous post???
Pearl from Mel Rapton in Sacramento. The breakdown was...
Car $28,935 including rear mudguards, cross rails, cargo cover and
wheel locks all installed. (About $400 in options).
Doc and Tire fees= $53.00 (They gave me two free oil changes to make me
happy here).
7.75% tax =2,245.95
License & reg. $250
4.9% finance
Final Cost $31,484.70
Note: I was going to buy at Vacaville Honda until the Internet Manager
decided to try to jack me with 5.9% financing. I walked out and Mel Rapton got my business.
Needless to say Vacaville tried to call me back but it was too late.
Great people at Mel Rapton.
I was quoted maybe 300 over he absolute lowest price I've seen posted here recently... not bad maybe you could squeeze even that at the end of month if you need every penny on a deal.
The dealer is trying to charge $470 for Doc/Proccessing fee. I am not sure if they are capped in GA but i know some sates like CA cap them at 45 and NY at 20. So $470 is way high. Carmax only chrages $150.
So, you all think this is a good price?
Thanks
As an alternative, use carsdirect.com They have a price of $23,576.
I also added options of sidesteps, tow package, and crossrails for an additional $1700.
Anyway, the bait and switching began. They told me they could dealer trade, but there's no way they could sell me the car for what we had agreed upon. Then they told me they'll sell me the car for our negotiated price and trade it in, but I would have to pay $1499 for the pro pack - roof rails, trunk trey, cargo net and wheel locks. YEAH RIGHT! Don't waste your time like I did. Next time I'll use them for free research and nothing else!
BTW, noticed yesterday that Planet Honda on Rte 22 in Union has a Pilot parked right in front with a banner hanging on the side of it that reads "$8000 Off" in huge letters.
Dealer sells below invoice and gives all the $3000 (public advertised or not) dealer cash incentive.
Did I misread or did one poster say they got $6000 under invoice or $8900 under MSRP? (in July)
For people who aren't picky as to colors, etc.. there may be a real shooting gallery the last part of August with dealerships trying to make their numbers.
thanx

Did they sell it with your Canadian address on the documents? Or did you use a US address? One dealer told me the Honda's database (where they enter the final sale details) does not allow the sale to a Canadian address. However, this guy did not sound he knows what he was talking about.

Includes chrome sidesteps and rear spash guards - includes sales tax of 6.5% (chicagoland suburbs), doc fee and new license plate fee of $143.
Also bought Honda care - 6 yr/100k for $995 after being initially quoted over 2K..

DP
Vehicle/Dest: $25,356
Protection Package: $675
Plus TTL, of course.
Thanks to everyone here for sharing their experience and knowledge.
What did I pay for: 2006 EX AWD Pilot with only 6 miles on it. No options/accessaries as my sales man told me, even though I found cargo net is there.
How did I pay: 2.9% honda promotion rate for 36 months with 0 down payment.
I have read this forum for a while and learned a lot from here. I feel I should contribute my buying experience which may be helpful for others, especially for our poor guys live in CO/WY/NE areas. Most dealers won't sell a honda at a competitive price as those in coast and TX area.
I started requesting online quotes from this Monday and received bunch of them: my nearest Honda of Markley didn't reply at all; all others around CO/WY quote me at around 26,300 at the first round. After I replied their quote asked for a "reasonable" one, most of them reduce their quote to somewhere around 25,700. Among them, the most notable is Honda of Casper from WY. I called my local dealer several time since they treat me well when I was there test-driving. Their usual sales man quote me at price which may be very reasonable here, albeit not as attactive as what I learn from this forum. The quote from Honda of Casper (3 hour driving from me) was competitive. At the same time I am impressed by their internet sales manager (by the rule of this forum, no name) who is very helpful and honest. However at the last minute when I countered their offer by $500, their sales manager who offer me quite competitive quote at first place was not willing to budge a bit at all. At the same time I was still working (emailing back and forth) with several other dealer's internet sales.
In the end, the internet sales man from Frontrange Honda (2 hour driving from my place) beats them all and win me over not only by their competitive price, but also by his total honesty and professionality. After his quote was seriouly considered, I asked him to fax me a copy of quote with detailed run-down. Then I made my deposit over the phone, walked out my home with my wife, and drove to their dealership. (However, we were caught in a heavy afternoon shower and hell.)
The entire transaction went very smoothly and all documents especially those which need signature was clearly explained. As was promised, no surprises, no strings attached.
During the time when finance department was working on the documents, he showed to us all the important features of our pilot professionally and competently. Both my wife and I was impressed.
I highly recommend for those who are looking into buying a Honda to give them (especially the internet sales guy) a shot. In all my impression, you will not be disappointed and most probably end up with a very happy purchase.
Thx
Which dealership in Socal did you get it from and did this include the Navi?
I was hanging in this forum for about a week researching what prices people were getting. When I was ready to purchase, I mass emailed about 20 dealers in So Cal telling them I was buying in the next 4 days and to give me the best quote. About 10 emailed back and out of those 3 were willing to match or beat the lowest quote I received. I went with Cerritos only because they had the color I wanted with the pro package already on it, and they also responded to my emails almost instantly (I like the personal attention). I did have another offer that was $100 less but they took too long to email me back  . That dealer was Buena Park Honda.
GOOD LUCK!!! :shades:
After test driving the car at a westside dealer, the salesperson basically would call me very couple of days to try to make a sale. Of course, after doing some research on the net, I realize that the price I was quoted was at least $1500 over what people were paying thru the internet. After mass-emailing 15-20 of the local dealerships, you can tell that many over the internet would still try to high-ball you.
Anyhow, I was initially looking for an 4WD EX-L w/ NAV, the lowest quote was $27188 + TTL from Diamond Bar Honda. Unfortunately, they did not have the color my wife wanted. But they did have the color we wanted in 2WD. The fleet manager knocked $1000 off the price he quoted me for the 4WD. But I told him another dealership had the 2WD at $26900 (Kaiser Brother at downtown LA), he matched it without asking which dealership it was nor did he ask to see that quote in writing. He was so flexible and easy to work with, plus he had the exact vehicle in stock, we decided to simply buy it on the spot.
So, the way the numbers broke down, we got our Pilot for $26900+TTL (MSRP $34045 + Destination $550 = Sticker $34595). The final OTD price was $29442.71 (LA County tax) with no added options. Based on the MSRP, this is $7145 below MSRP. Given most people are getting somewhere between $6000 to $7500 off, I wonder if we could've gotten it even cheaper. There was another recent post where someone paid $27300 in SoCal for the 2WD, so I think this was not a bad deal. But most importantly, I appreciated how easy the whole process was and how easy it was to work with our internet salesperson.
For those people still shopping around, looks like it's definitely a buyer's market. I would highly recommend the Diamond Bar dealership to anyone looking for a smooth sale with pleasant salesmen. Just ask for the fleet manager directly.
BTW, we love the NAV system. The rearview camera was a nice feature which we didn't even realize it had. For a car under $30K, it's really a nice little added luxury.
I emailed out to several local dealers last night with a target price of $28,000. That seems to be about the going rate. One dealer emailed me back about the unattainable number and offered one at $29,700.
It seems like the supply is pretty slim in DFW - are all the 2006's out and they are waiting for 2007?
Has anyone added an aftermarket DVD to a Nav Pilot??
I never received a email of quote from Tyrell-Doyle at all.
I ended up with a Sage Brush, not stylish Black but still looks tough.
Hope that helps.
What was the price you got on the 4WD-EXL?
Also, did they sell it with your Canadian address on the documents? Or did you use a US address? One dealer told me the Honda's database (where they enter the final sale details) does not allow the sale to a Canadian address. However, this guy did not sound he knows what he was talking about.
