    This one is a bit tough to swallow. That would be almost $7,000 off MSRP. I know things are bad, but are they that bad for Honda where desperation is kicking in and the dealers are willing to sell to just break even or maybe lose money. By far this is the best price we have seen posted. Me personally, at that price I would snatch one up.

    $35,865 MSRP
    $31,158 Quoted price

    Good or can I do better?
  • mark000mark000 Member Posts: 6
    I am in Philly.
    Thanks and good luck to you too.
  • bruzer56bruzer56 Member Posts: 10
    I could live with $31,425, but it never hurts to try for a little more off :)

    mlt007, we must have similar tastes in color because that's the exact body and interior color combination that I'm looking at! Like you, my dealer doesn't have it in stock, so we'll have to see who gets their new Pilot first.

    $31653 + Tax +TTL and 1.9% from P.S. Honda of NY.

    That's $5812 off MSRP and it's $2341 below invoice and $341 below dead cost.

    So I figure they made no more that around $500 - $700, which I think it's fair.

    Thank you all for your help... Will pick up when I return from Hawaii in 2 weeks!
  • fxguyfxguy Member Posts: 132
    Got a quote as low as $30400 before TTL. That is pretty good right?
  • p1cfl01p1cfl01 Member Posts: 14
    I think some dealers are low balling some buyers. Lets be honest, they're not in the business to lose money. It's still a Honda and it will sell eventually. I can see that they will sell the car at dead cost, that should be anywhere fromm $600 - $1200. But this Touring without RES invoice at $35440 - 2000 = $33440 - $30400 = $3040. Even taking $1200 holdback out, that's $1840 below dead cost. They want to sell cars, but not desparate. I think we can only go by the price that we written up with the dealer along with VIN or cars purchased already. We can't go by qoutes since they aren't accurate until it's purchased....
  • fxguyfxguy Member Posts: 132
    Invoice is $33.3K on a 2WD Touring without RES.
  • bakstge1bakstge1 Member Posts: 24
    Good Numbers! In New York, well done. Sounds about right and very much do able for a dealer to sell at that price, as I paid $31,895 for the exact same Pilot, just up the road in Levittown.
  • lufacalufaca Member Posts: 31
    All these number are guess since you can not trully tell how much the dealer bought tge car for. The prices quoted here a guideline for future buyers. The deals are seal once you drive off the lot. good luck.
  • rolandorolando Member Posts: 2
    I'm interested in a fully loaded Pilot Touring. What is the dealer's total cost? Is it simply invoice less the holdback? So, $36,201 less $1800 equals $34,401? Plus delivery charges I would assume. I appreciate someone validating my understanding.
  • junobearjunobear Member Posts: 22
    Sounds good. Probably depends on where you live. Where's that?

    I find it hard to believe a Touring w/o RES selling for 30,400. Sorry, but I gotta call BS on that one.
  • fxguyfxguy Member Posts: 132
    You can call BS all you want but i have the quote in my email. Now, will they honor it if i show up? I see no reason why not but with dealers, you never know.
  • bakstge1bakstge1 Member Posts: 24
    Its cool. But at that price I would have already made my visit to the dealership. Keep us posted if you nail a 2009 Pilot 4WD Touring for $30,400. ($9K off MSRP) This would certainly be the lowest we have seen, hope you get it at that price.
  • mark000mark000 Member Posts: 6
    2009 Pilot 4WD Touring for $30,400 is really an unbelievable price. Today I worked on $32,995 but no deal due to a trad in issue. What I was quoted is:

    Your internet price quote for the 2009 Honda Pilot Touring with Navi $ 32995
    You may also be interested in 2009 Honda Pilot EXL $30359
    Price includes $670 DEST .CHARGE Also with the Specail 1.9% APR

    Probably I better wait for a while tille sometimes late of August. Happy to see more you guys make better deal.
  • fxguyfxguy Member Posts: 132
    The quote was for a 2WD.
  • ipswichgregipswichgreg Member Posts: 15
    Without any negotiation, first offer from a dealer on a 2009 Pilot 4wd Touring with Nav and RES was $35,965 (msrp and destination,less $5,000 plus $300 doc fee), taxes, title and registration. 3.9% financing for 60 months is available. I see that others have done much better, so I plan to work a better deal.

    I received the following quote for a 2009 Honda Pilot EX-L 4WD with Leather

    $ 30,730.00 Internet Discounted Price of Vehicle (includes any and all factory cash incentives)

    $ 670.00 Factory originating destination/freight charge
    $ 100.00 Processing Fee
    $ 945.00 3% Virginia State Sales Tax
    $ 89.00 Tags, Title and VA Registration

    $ 32,534.00 Total Guaranteed On-The-Road Price (assuming Virginia residence Registration & Tax)

    OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES (Installed Prices)

    $ 719.00 Running Boards
    $ 699.00 Hands Free Link (Bluetooth)
    $ 239.00 Cross Bars
    $ 149.00 Cargo Cover
    $ 129.00 Door Edge Guards
    $ 99.00 Cargo Tray
    $ 99.00 Wheel Locks

    The wheel locks are actually a zero cost with the alloy wheels. But my question is how much should I pay for everything else? I was told they will extend a 10% discount off the list price through Aug. 31st. Also, do you think there will be any incentives above what exists today on Labor day weekend? Please let me know. Thanks.

    Options/Accessories 2133.00 ... Dealer probably made profit on 50% off it > 1066.50

    This is a Touring 4wd with RES and Nav. Another dealer just came in at 33,371 (incl dest), so I think I'm nearing the floor.

    I am in No VA. Could you tell me which dealer? The price you gave seems very good.
  • ipswichgregipswichgreg Member Posts: 15
    These are 2 dealers north of Boston - Commonwealth and Herb Chambers.
  • leodlion8leodlion8 Member Posts: 6
    Is the 1.9%, 2.9%, 3.9% financing solely depends on your credit score?
  • darynmdarynm Member Posts: 8
    Yes, when I did the 3.9 Financing on my 2009 EX-L I was told that I had to have a min. of 710 in order to be approved.
  • mark000mark000 Member Posts: 6
    Comparing to my $32,995 Touring/Nav without RES, yours are much better.
    Where are you, pllease ?
  • mlt007mlt007 Member Posts: 16
    My quote on 2009 Touring Pilot without RES , AWD was 31,900 (before taxes, fess, etc). I live in Alabama. Keep trying !

    I would advice against commonwealth they have a very poor BBB rating and my recent experience with them was awful,their customer servie is poor. Herb chambers is good they have a very large stock but make sure you have your price. Their accesory installation price is very expensive especially their boston branch, you can check installed prices for the accesories you want through each dealer;s estore. Like everything you can negotiate the price but first check the prices at benardiparts.com and figure what you would pay for the labour. i installed the running board with light for 899 and all season mat for 199 (were too high) and i am buying my other accessories from benardi and will find a good auto body guy to install for me if at all icant install myself,

    4WD Touring with DVD Rear Entertainment System (RES) Automatic
    Base MSRP*: $39,995
    Destination & Handling: $670
    MSRP including selected accessories: $40,665

    Your price is more than $7K lower than what is listed, where are you getting this price?

    very interested.

    Thanks

    One quote was from Commonwealth and the other was from Herb Chambers. I have another offer from a Boston area dealer at 33.9.
  • ipswichgregipswichgreg Member Posts: 15
    Thanks for the tip about commonwealth. I've heard the same thing and all of the dealerrater.com comments are very negative. Herb Chambers did not rate well either, although my wife had a good experience leasing her Audi from them.
  • bigdadi118bigdadi118 Member Posts: 1,207
    I leased 08 Pilot VP 4x4 from Herb Chambers - Boston. To make the story short, It was concluded as "Not Pleasant".
    They made the lease agreement in wrong figures and said they can't go to registration my car until to pay the balance that I didn't owe.
    I had to make 4 round trips to deatlership to get everything settle.
  • junobearjunobear Member Posts: 22
    In in SoCal, too. CUrious which dealers you've enjoyed working with. Have just begun my quest starting with a couple test drives.

    Also, the $2K rebate----exactly where was that announced?
  • junobearjunobear Member Posts: 22
    Hey, did you go for it?
  • suzyshushsuzyshush Member Posts: 1
    I'm looking to lease by the end of this month, and was quoted a price of $33795 (everything included) in Northern Vermont for the touring model with Navigation. Is this in line with what others are getting quoted? The quote is off $39060. I'm weighing the cost/inconvenience of driving down to Boston, as I'm seeing offers for less with RES. My last Pilot was delivered for nothing by Berlin City back on 12/31/2005, and they are offering me 33230 for the same car (off 39030).

    Thanks for any insight.
  • bigdadi118bigdadi118 Member Posts: 1,207
    Driving to Boston from N. Vermont?

    Better has the S&P agreement drafted (fax or email to you) and your lease PRE-approved before starting the trip. Better yet not to have any trade tied to the lease as dealers will give a much lower price (3 - 4K lower than KBB) for your trade, then you drive back to Vermont without a deal.
  • bbolivarbbolivar Member Posts: 4
    I did, and sent a later response with details. Got it for that price less the 2k incentive.
  • junobearjunobear Member Posts: 22
    Whoops, now I see it. So many posts here to digest! Did you have a good dealer experience? Did they match any quotes you already had? (Sorry if this was covered too! I didn't see that, though.) Thanks!
  • rprattiprprattip Member Posts: 1
    Interesing.. the offer seems really good. I got an offer of $31830 on 2009 Pilot 4WD EX-L with DVD system. For approx. $1600 more, touring at this price seems a better option.
  • tour_7tour_7 Member Posts: 4
    It has been a while without checking this board... I purchased a Pilot 2009 Touring with RES (2WD) back in June and I got it for 36,085.00 -- chrome running boards included. If I was to minus out the running boards from the price ($650 based on Honda website) then the price I paid was 35,435 + TTL.

    My Pilot now has 2,080 miles and I'm loving every minute of it. I guess the only thing I wish was available at that time was the 3.9 financing, but I was lucky to get 4.5 from my credit union.

    So, 1k or 2k difference really doesn't matter that much when you finance -- the payment difference is not really that much as I see people trying to nickel and dime their deals.

    I believe prices are not going to change that much until the end of this year, unless you end up with an end of the month super deal (dealer trying to score one last sale before the end of the month). Good luck to all of you trying to nail a deal. If the dealer is not willing to go much off MSRP, go somewhere else! I'm sure you'll find a dealer willing to help you out if they see that you are serious about getting a Pilot. Try the OTD approach with an option or two and be firm, perhaps with a small deposit to show you are serious about it.

    LOL... I'm yet still waiting to see my Pilot give 23mpg, but I haven't visit my parents up in Jacksonville, FL... that would be a 5 hours drive for me.. but even then I'm not sure if the Pilot can really give us 24mpg...lol...

    Good hunting... :)

    I'm confused. I've just read the last few pages of this thread (don't have time to read all 11,700 posts) and I am seeing people getting offers in the 33-34k range for Touring with Nav and RES. The Edmunds TMV price is 38,746 (FWD model). Is the TMV price off by that much?

    I requested one dealer quote thru Edmunds today here in Houston and got an offer of $36,995 plus TTL. Below TMV price but way above what others are getting. I guess I should be able to go back to him and offer him $2000 below invoice due to the dealer marketing support? Edmunds says most salesman usually don't know about that (and also that it is included in the TMV, which apparently it is not). I guess the worst he can do is say no, huh?

    I locked in on the following deal yesterday: 2009 Pilot AWD Touring w/ Nav and RES for $33,271, including destination and doc fee (excludes tax, title and registration). All the dealers, except 1, were coming within $100 of each other and the deal I chose was the lowest.
  • mgc407mgc407 Member Posts: 20
    That's a good deal. where are you? my friend is looking to buy the same model in Tenn and the best price so far is 34500 and i bought mine for 35865 in the north east before the $2000 incentive.
  • jc9394jc9394 Member Posts: 39
    you can get it for $33k from either Boch or Herb Chambers (except Boston location), my friend just got one from HB in Seekonk last week with 1.9% 3 yrs financing.

    I just got my 2009 Pilot EX-L 4x4 for $31,531 not including tax, license. I used carsdirect dot com to look for the vehicle. Got it from Dublin Honda in California. I used 1.9% financing for 36 months.

    There wasnt much of buying experiance since I went through an internet dealing site. All I had to do was inspect the vehicle sign a bunch of stuff and they handed me my key along with a tank full of gas and a vehicle washed. But I was helped by a salesmen a few days before purchase so I mentioned that to the fleet manager. Apperantly the salesman will get half of the comission from internet sales since he helped me. If I didn't mention the salesman name he would of got nothing.

    I only driven the car for maybe 12 miles and so far I really like it.

    Last week i posted about an AWD EX'09 for OTD price of $29,180.60. But today i received an offer internet price of $25,966.00 for AWD SE'08 (w/c is my first choice). so most likely it would be around $27K and a hundreds for OTD price. Did anyone know if this is a great deal to grab? Thanks a lot.
