You will probably have better luck posting your question HERE

That way, you'll get responses from owners of that particular model.

I had a good experience with Steve Thomas BMW in Camarillo. They will give anyone an easy $1,500 over invoice deal. Very easy and pain free. I tried very hard to work with my prior dealer whom I had purchased 4 (!) cars from. But because of change of ownership, management changes, etc. I couldn't even get a return phone call!! Very disappointing. But was delighted with how I was treated and the deal I got at Steve Thomas.

    Thank you very much Kyfdx

Am i correct in my calculation of:

    24mo/30k... $485
    24mo/24k... $454

(Including 8.25% Tax and $3000 Down payment)
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 267,338
If your $3000 goes entirely to the cap cost reduction, then yes.. those numbers are right on the money...

In addition to the $3000, you'll need to pay the other upfront charges as listed above, to keep the lease at those numbers.

Got an offer of $35.5K for a 05 Silver Metallic 330i w/Xenons, AT, CP and PP (42.0K). I figure a fair price is $34,845. Equates to $34,345 invoice + $500 profit.

    That sounds about right?
  • amt7565amt7565 Member Posts: 165
    I think so-
Use this formula: Invoice price of car - $4200 + $500 profit. To get the invoice price check the edmunds new price guide. You can also request floor mats to be included in the price.
It will be another 7 years before we can get similar deals on similar models again. So it's great you are taking advantage of it.

let us know how it goes and good luck!

Haha yes we are hoarding all the cars in Dallas! I am not sure if the ZHP had the SMG or Steptronic(I don't know what the SMG is). But I did test drive his car yesterday and did not notice it. I will ask him and post here.

Meanwhile I have been using my Steptronic now and then. Really love the acceleration. Amazing what a difference it makes!! It's like travelling at the speed of light!

Regarding your car to be included in the fan club, you still have a better car, because it's newer and has nicer improvements. Yes you are certainly in the club :P">

For the invoice pricing, I used the "Consumer Reports" car price service. Made the $4.2K adjustment, and applied accordingly.

It's either this or a Lexus ES 330.

I've just purchased a 2002 330xi with about 41000miles. I like the idea of predictable costs (ie no big bad surprises down the road), so the idea of an extended warranty definitely appeals. However, the prices seem very high. Also I'd like to know what experiences forum members have had with such warranties. For instance, is everything covered but the gizmo that actually breaks?

The primary vendors I'm looking at are One World and Ultimate. I like the Ultimate 7yrs 125k miles option, but the price is about $3000. Is that reasonable? According to Edmunds, average repair costs will be running at about $800 this year, rising to $900 in the coming years. Any ideas on the best coverage or best vendor?

    hrc,

Which dealerships did you go to in the Bay Area to get $1500 above invoice? I'm definitely interested.

    I'm looking for a:

    2006 330i
    Premium Package
    Sport Package
    Steptronic
    Power Sunshade
    Titanium Silver Metallic
    Black Leather

If you are still deciding between the two, then I strongly encourage you to get the BMW if you have not experienced owning a German car yet. This is also a great time to take advantage of the valuable discounts you are getting on it. I have had my 330i for about 20 days now and I am extremely pleased. Eitherway let us know what you get.

    Good luck!

    Hi,

A dealer in NY just offered to cut $2000 off the sticker price of $37,900 for a 2002 330CIC. $35,900 is consistent with the online valuations available, but it seems a bit high. Is it really a good price?...26,000 miles, automatic, premium and cold weather packages.

    Thanks,

    Thanks- extra details

I live in the Denver, CO area and the price quotes on the forums I have seen are from the east coast.
    I am looking at:
    2006 325i ownership:
Comfort Access (Irritation on having to wait)
    Winter
    Xenon
    Back-up sensor

Have not seriously priced yet- but am expecting about 1500 off of MSRP- realistic?

Please let me know if more detail is needed (ie- hard numbers) or if it would be more helpful to wait until this "hot" model's pricing stabilizes- just trying to prep for battle.

    Thanks Again

If you are looking for MSRPs and invoice prices, I like to use KBB.com.. They tend to be the most accurate..

I haven't checked to see if they have the info for the '06, though..

    1) There is no sticker price on a used car. It is an asking price. It might as well be made up out of thin air. In other words, they haven't taken $2000 off anything. They have just changed their asking price to $35,900.

You are doing the right thing in checking other sources for valuations.. I would suggest posting the details of the car in this discussion.

Use the template at the bottom of the discussion and be specific. Be sure and post that the car is at a dealer, and that you are interested in purchasing it. Within a few days, someone should be along to give you an answer, based on the current market in your area of the country.

Your best tool is to wait a few weeks, then see who in your area is selling for a lower price and then go for the kill :D

For the options you have specified(I assume the backup sensor is the park distance control?) the MSRP comes to $33,145(without the comfort access). The invoice is $30,410. So getting $1500 off MSRP is a realistic price and still leaves the dealer with about $1200 in profit. You will have to add the cost of the comfort access and any metalic paint cost to this.

However, please note that it will be easier to get $1500 off if the car was about $36-$37K. If it's anything less, it might probably be hard for a while.

    AMT,

Thanks for the info- oh, the pain of adding options. We just drove the 330 MT yesterday- Mother's milk! Bueatiful esse curve at 80. We were checking for sports pkg. ride quality. Nice, tight, not intrusive. Potholes handled well (it had 18 inch rims we aren't getting) So that prices us at 35,700 w/out comfort, w/ paint. By the way those seats are great!

    Thanks again

PS: We are still doing the 325, but all they had was the 330 MT, sport to test- darn ;)

Still looking at the 2005 330xi (prem, cold, sport, and xenon) with an msrp of 44995. I got a price from an out of state dealer for $38570. That is still not where you think it should be. The local dealer won't budge over the phone, they want me to come in and talk with them. I don't want to waste my time if they are not going to give me a fair price.

I am thinking about going with the 325xi instead of the 330xi, there is quite a price difference. What do you think? :confuse:
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 267,338
One thing to keep in mind... There probably aren't a whole lot of 330xi left.. If you got $6400 off MSRP quote over the phone, you might want to give them a try in person.. If you can squeeze out another $500-600, then you are within $1000 of dealer cost... That might be the best you can do...

It will surely be a lot cheaper than a new '06 in the Fall..

A local dealer probably won't give you his bottom dollar quote over the phone.. Some deals just have to be done face-to-face.

Another thing to think about... It is surely a lot easier to do a deal locally, than chase deals out of town..

When you get close to a decent deal on the car you want, sometimes you just have to put all of your energy into that deal, and get the most you can... and be done with it.. That doesn't mean you'll have the cheapest or the best deal in the country, but you'll have the car you want..

If your goal is to match the very best deal you read about on this board, then you'll be disappointed 99% of the time.... But, at least it gives you a starting point and something to shoot for..

If you can afford the 330xi, I'd much rather have a $6500 off MSRP deal on that, than a $4000 off MSRP deal on a 325xi..

    regards,
    kyfdx

I may be considering a 2005 BMW convertible. I live here in Mass. Has any one received any good deals purchasing either model. I know the both models are popular models. Reading the final prices on Edmunds with all the options that I want, I see no good deals in my area (Boston area). I would appreciate a reply with a dealer who is offering good deals. Tried the Nissan 350Z and Chrysler Crossfire both have tire problems.

Could anyone please give an idea of a residual on a 2005 325ci 36/36 lease? Does it vary from dealer to dealer, or fixed?
Also, what is the realistic money factor currently for this model? (I've seen numbers varying from 0.008 to 0.0024 around this board). What does it depend on?
    Thanks.

Has anyone done ED in SoCal recently? I am shopping for a E90 and wanted to know the names of some good dealerships. Including the deal you got would be very helpful too, esp. if it's on the E90.

    Thx
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 267,338
    Residual 59%.. MF .0010..

The residual is set by BMWFS and may be (and usually is) different for each model, term, etc.. It cannot be changed.

The money factor, which can also be different for each model, is also set by BMWFS, but they permit the dealer to mark up the rate for extra profit.. The maximum mark up is .0004 for a .0014 maximum, in this case.

Lower money factors (below market rate) are often used as incentives in lieu of rebates or dealer cash.. that is why they vary from model to model.. They can also use residual percentages in the same way.

I posted the original inquiry a couple of weeks ago about whether there are any 330xi's left. I wound up buying through BMW Motorwerks in Bloomington paying -$6,000 off sticker but am paying $650 to ship it from Pittsburgh to Minneapolis - there just aren't that many left and I had to compromise on color (I'm getting Jet Black with a black interior, definitely not my first choices) and features (no navigation). I suppose I could have got a few more bucks off but I'm happy. I'm using the money I saved to get a few options that I wouldn't have considered but for the drop in the price for last year's model. I was seriously considering buying the 330xi last year for $1,000 off sticker so by waiting I've saved quite a bit. It arrives on Thursday and they will need an additional week to install all the goodies. Good luck to all you 2005 bargain shoppers out there - I got mine.

Unfortunately for you discount shoppers there is not going to be much movement from MSRP. Those consumers not all caught up in how much the dealer is making will get to drive the cars and those thinking that that the dealer is making too much can wait and wait and wait........

This BMW is a great deal at MSRP! :)

I was quoted by my previous salesman who I bought a 325ci fromm a couple of years ago for an 06 325 with prem, xenons, heated seats, and step tranny for $1500 off MSRP. I forgot the exact MSRp he told me but I do remember him telling me $1500 off. Think it's a good deal and might get it real soon.

Here in Texas, I managed to only get $750 off of MSRP from my 2006 325i. Do you think I can get more?

Here's what I'm ordering (it's my first bmw):
    jet black/gray
    premium package
    xeon light
    msrp: $34,695 and I'm paying $33,945

    Am I paying too much?

    $3000 Down at pickup
    $520 Per month

    Does it make sence?

Can you break down the $3000?

    $625 acquisition fee
    $520 1st payment
    $550 security deposit
    $52 tax on acquisition fee
$645 Cap cost reduction (to come up with your quoted payment)
$54 tax on cap cost reduction

$2446 total.. That leaves $554 for "other charges".. Registration? Title fees? Document fees?

So, it makes sense... To get $520/mo. tax included.. But, that still leaves $554 unaccounted for.. Not knowing your state fees, etc., it is hard to know how much of that is legitimate.. But, I'm assuming all base rates for acquistion fee and money factor, and you got a decent discount.. So, if the rest of it is legitimate, it is not a bad deal..

Any reason you didn't go for a three year lease?

the 330 residual is a point higher.....other than that terms remain the same.

You sound like a car salesman. These cars are indeed being discounted. I got MSRP less $1500 by simply asking. Another dealer offered 1000 off but mistakenly stated terra leather would not be available until Sept production.
  • virtualbmwvirtualbmw Member Posts: 86
Did you buy the car when they offered 1500 off? That doesn't leave much profit for the dealer. What's the dealer? I'll call and see if he wants to sell them to me. The market here is such that it is not too bright for dealers to get caught up with clients that are wanting big discounts when there are more than enough people that see the car as a great deal without the discount. Did you buy the car when offered $1500 off? Where was that?

We're waiting for our second big shipment of 3's. We had about 70 of them arrive within the last few weeks and we're down to about 5.

I'm a sales manager at a very prominent high volume BMW Center. I've been in the business for 13 years but I'm still excited about the new 3.

I prefer to vacation in Europe, so whether or not I am able to do an ED lease, I will still be going to Europe. In my case, I view the ED program as pure savings.

I will call SB but they are kind of far for me.

I am looking for a 325i with ZSP and nothing else, 10k/year 36mo lease: sticker $32595. I would pay the acquisition fee of 625 (not 825) all govt fees, security deposit, and first month's payment at signing ~$1800. Cap cost rougly 29500 to get me a payment of about 415/mo including 7.75% tax. (I am assuming the June program didn't change any from the May program.)

I think this is a fair deal, and I don't see why dealerships have such a tough time with this one. Do you think Crevier would go for this deal?

    -Selm
  • virtualbmwvirtualbmw Member Posts: 86
Just guessing on that one, but I can see where it might be considered.

I can see where it would be termed reasonable but actually there's a great deal of work on the dealers part to be done for a euro deal. It's much more complicated and the dealer does not get credit for the allocation with the sale. Still the top dealers are always searching for reasonable deals.
  • jj2jj2 Member Posts: 11
We all know that the BMW is a great car.

I'm guessing this is a place where we don't want to hear car salesman babble. :P
