A3 2015 lease

am23am23 Member Posts: 6
edited January 2015 in Audi
I want to lease A3 2015 msrp 36995. Audi asking for usual destination fees etc and first month lease for $1600, then $427/month for 3 yr, 36k. They are not telling me residual or money factor, but they are paying off the 3 months left on my current lease with another company. Is this a good deal? Or can I still negotiate down some? Thanks

    Thanks for the advice.
I am looking for A3 premium 2.0 with AWD, driver assist and cold weather packages, and iPod input.
They are cutting me check for final 3 patents of my current lease.
Tax rate in MA is 6.25%.
Do I have room to negotiate?

  • am23am23 Member Posts: 6
Thanks for your input. I am now getting $417 for above model including tax. And Nissan inspected my car and said they will take it back if i pay the 3 months left on the lease which is being paid to me by audi. So overall I think the deal is ok?

Are the options for unlimited tire/rim replacement for $895 , simonz coating for $895 worth it?

My co-host answered that above .. the only person these options benefit are the dealer.

    .00097 and 56% for 1.8 FWD

    .00122 and 58% for 2.0 Quattro

Dealer is inflating the MF on you, either way.

thank you, Michael...does it make sense to step up to the 2.0 for a better residual?

It's going to be close to a wash with the higher money factor... Plus, the 2.0Q is going to have a higher price.. you aren't going to be able to move up without paying more. It all depends on if you want/need AWD.

thanx again, Michael....I really don't need the AWD, nor the more powerful engine....it's great having someone like you to bounce things off of....am I correct there is approximately 6% room to negotiate the MSRP?

Yes.. 6% seems to be about the best discount you can get on an Audi that doesn't have other incentives.

    What is the MSRP?

Does that include tax? If so, what state and tax rate?

Is $1000 the full amount due at signing?

    .00097 MF and 55% residual.

Adding on the $695 acquisition fee to the CAP cost, I get $528/mo.
If they are using those numbers, it looks like around $1000 more in your deal... for something else..

Thanks. And what's the residual and money factor on the 1.8T Premium 36mos/12k?

Current deal on the Premium Plus car, msrp of $35,490, $0 down, $1,200 due at signing for inceptions, qualify for first month's payment and $500 a3 incentive (not sure what they call it), $399/mo tax-in. I haven't asked for specifics yet but I assume that's about $2,500 cap cost reduction, or about 7% off/dealer invoice price. Do you think there's much more wiggle room? Looking to be at $370/mo tax-in.

Add 3% to the residual for Premium trim.

What is the actual net cap cost on the deal you've been offered? 7% off sticker is pretty good - we advise 4-6% off for Audi.

And, what state and tax rate is this?

Never leased a car before.....looking at the Audi A3 1.8T Premium in white, with cold weather package & MMI Navi. Dealer sticker said MSRP $35,810. Edmunds shows $32,505 Invoice, $34,880 MSRP, and $32,352 TMV. Current lease specials online are for base model with nothing etc., so can't get an idea of what this really looks like. I have not gone in and sat through the "fun" of haggling because I don't want to get taken.
I have tier 1 credit (over 780), want to put down as little as possible, but willing to put down $1500 or so if it pencils out. Not sure what I could get them down to in price of the car - is the TMV $32,352 likely?

Also, I want a 24, 30, or 36 month lease with 12K miles/year. Not sure what money factor they might offer, what is actually fair, and what the projected residual value would be? I live in CA, local sales tax is 7.50%. What am I potentially looking at in terms with the money factor, residual value and terms for the monthly and amount due at signing?

    .00033 and 63% / 59% / 56% are the lease numbers.

Up front costs will include first month's payment, acquisition fee, and state mandated fees and taxes - $1500 or so sounds about right.

Negotiate the best selling price you can - that, more than anything, will keep your payment low.

When you have the MSRP and selling price, we can model the payment for you.

I got all the figures and they are saying the MSRP is $35,816, Invoice is $34,637 and they will offer it to me for $500 over invoice - no lower. Is there truly no more room than $500 over invoice? They stated $497/mo for 15K miles and $475 for 12K miles - both for 36 month lease with $176 and $198 amount due at signing respectively. .0003 MF and residual value of 56% and 54%. Is this a good deal?

Use the pricing tools at the top of the page (make / model / year) to get pricing information. For Audi, 4-6% off sticker is usually a good starting point.

I'm intersted in leasing a 2015 A3 TDI Premium. Can you provide the money factor and residual for 36 month lease with 10k, 12k and 15 miles?

Which engine - 1.8T, 2.0T or TDI? All three have different lease numbers.

We would also need to know the MSRP and the selling price in order to model a payment.

Hmm.. Yeah, their website seems a little backwards and most of the cars only have a link that makes you email or contact them for a sale price or request a quote. I do know that the internet sales guy quoted me a 2015 A3 premium 2.0T quattro with the cold weather package for $350 a month and $350 down for a 42 month lease with 10k miles per year. I was just curious if there was more wiggle room on that monthly payment or not?

Can't tell you without knowing the MSRP and selling price.

FWIW, 36 months is the sweet spot for Audi leases, in general. .00062 and 59% for the 2.0T Premium.

Ok awesome. So if they are quoting me $350 a month which is my "out the door" price with taxes included it sounds like I am getting a good deal and they must be selling for even less. :)

Money factor is marked up from .00033. That is adding $40/mo. to your payment...

We don't follow selling prices, so don't know if your discount is good, but they are tacking on a $700 doc fee, which is outrageous...

$468/mo. for a $32K MSRP car is not a good deal.. If that's the best you can do on an A3, I'd shop for something else.
