$350.00!!! is highway robbery. My wife is talking about sticking velcro on this vehicle. I surely wouldn't but that much $$ into another sun visor unless I knew that Nissan corrected the problem. Does anybody know can something like this be picked up outside of a Nissan dealership?

What state do you live in? What options were on your SL?
  • amatistaamatista Member Posts: 15
I'm in California. There were no packages added, just the two options of cargo mat and splash guards. It's gorgeous, and I've got some envious co-workers.

Received a quote for the following in the Chicago area...
    2007 Murano SL AWD
    Touring Package
    Floor Mats
    Splash Guards
    Roof Rail Crossbars
    Sunroof Wind Deflector

MSRP is $36,940 and they quoted me $$29,862 (including destination charge, but before TTL). I believe it's a really good deal and was about to purchase it. However, I looked at the pricing for the '09 and I've decided to wait. It looks like a lot of the optional features on the '07 have become standard on the '09. The '09 SL AWD has an MSRP of $29,480. I'll likely add leather for $1,600 for a total MSRP of $31,080 (I'm guessing destination will be added to this). I'll be patient and wait until the '09's begin selling for under MSRP and hopefully not pay too much more than the '07 price above. Any thoughts on this? Does anyone know if invoice pricing is available yet for the '09?
  • southpaw75southpaw75 Member Posts: 33
I'm in the same boat as you. Seriously looking at the 07 Murano but now want to wait until 09 becomes a more viable option (invoice pricing; incentives). Still have 3 payments left on current lease so I have some time if need be.
Where is the best Chicago area Nissan dealer to deal with? I want to find one that doesn't screw around with bloated sales figures.
  • coggscoggs Member Posts: 11
I received quotes from about 10 of the 15 Nissan dealerships in the Chicago area. The lowest quote so far has been from the Nissan dealership in Crystal Lake. Based on the inventory shown on their web site, they have about thirty '07's in stock.

The salesperson there looked into what option packages I'd need to get on the '09 to be comparable to the '07 I'm looking at. She said I'd need the leather package and the Premium package for an MSRP of $32,825 (including destination).

The 2009's are supposed to have an improved CVT and traction control and vehicle dynamic control are now standard, so it's not quite and apples to apples comparison. I've pretty much made up my mind to wait for the 2009's to sell below MSRP. I'll just be patient until that happens.

If anyone has residuals and Nissan financing money factor for the 09 MO please post them up here. I'm concerned that the residuals on the 09 LE will not be very good because of the huge price disparity between it and the SE.

I talked to a dealer in Downers Grove today and he told me 09 Muranos wont go down in price for 5 to 6 mons because its so new.
  • tazgirl3tazgirl3 Member Posts: 43
I have been searching for invoice pricing and incentives on the 09 Murano but I dont think they are around just yet. A friend told me to call consumer reports and they may have the pricing. I am going to check their website and see what they have.
If anyone has the invoice pricing or knows where to get it please let us know.

    Thanks!

Without any effort, I was offered one at $300 below MSRP in the Chicago area.
  • kalamazookalamazoo Member Posts: 18
I purchased an 09 Murano SL with everything, including mudflaps, roof rail crossbars. Only thing I did not get was DVD. MSRP was roughly 38300. No dealer add ons. No trade. Got 1600 off MSRP. Markup is about 3400 on this model.

Congrat's on the SL. I can't wait to hear the details. From what I heard on other forums the dealers are not moving on the prices. So congrats on your deal. I am close to pulling the trigger on a LE with moon roof and Nav. I get the VPP pricing and I was shocked to hear that they will let me get one. The dealer said they typically will not. did you get the Nav? if so give us some details?

Got an email from a dealer that they have some good deals on leasing right now but other than that they are not budging on the price at the moment. I'll just wait it out till I find someone willing to deal. There's plenty of 'em out there. Congrats to all that have found good pricing. ENJOY!!! Let us know what you think of the ride. :)

rkon01 - I was told Nissan is not offering VPP pricing yet on the '09 Murano. Did you have to pull some strings to get this? VPP pricing is based off invoice price, so have you seen invoice pricing yet?
  • rkon01rkon01 Member Posts: 15
Coggs - I have this confirmed from 2 Nissan dealers. They had the sales manager enter the VINs and it cleared ok. I have not seen the invoice prices yet. I expect to pull the trigger this weekend or soon after.

I test drove a FX35 AWD and then a Murano LE today and the Murano came out on top. Both the wife and I agreed hands down. The FX was very loud and rough. The Murano is a real beauty and the LE is worth the extra couple of Grand with the Chrome accent on the bottom and for the roof rack. I was not impressed with the Voice Command it appears not to support the Audio.

How does one go about getting VIP Pricing?
  • jmpage2jmpage2 Member Posts: 268
It's VPP pricing and it's only available if your company has an agreement with Nissan/Infiniti to get that pricing.

You call a phone number and provide them some employee information including your plan number and they give you a VPP number. When you go into Nissan/Infiniti with the VPP number the entire sales process is based on you getting the vehicle for a fixed price, usually just above invoice.

rkon01 - I found a dealerships website in the Chicago area that shows MSRP and Invoice price. Only problem is it doesn't have any details on what options they come with. I'm looking at a SL AWD with Leather and premium package, cargo protector and floor mats. The MSRP for this vehicle (including destination) is $33,105. Their web site has one for $33,250 with an invoice price of $30,466.

I haven't found a dealership that will accept VPP pricing yet. All of them so far are telling me I need to wait about 2 months.

    To All,
I would value your input on the following; Should I be upset that Nissan has come out with an 09 Murano as opposed to an 08? Does this not make me take a hit on my 06 Murano for trade in purposes? Have I not lost an extra years' depreciation? What strategy can I use going forward?
    Many thanks.

I just returned fromt he Detriot Auto Show and they had 2 09 on display, the on that opened to the public was a fully loaded 09 SL AWD, price was 35K So it seems that the 07 pricing and 09 are about the same. They are about the same size which I found interesting, I would have assumed the 09 would have been bigger..

Coggs, I would suggest that you know some other individuals who have talked with dealers and they are entered in a VIN and Nissan is allowing VPP. If they don't want to honor it tell them you will go to another dealer. Or bettor yet you will get an FX35 with the incentives.

After some shopping I was offered this deal today and can't seem to make sense of it:
    2007 SL AWD Touring
    MSRP over the phone $37000
    Sales price $33192
    Money factor 0.00016
    Residual 39 months 49%
    Trade Value $20,000
    Pay-off $20,000
    KY sales tax 6%
    (Approx.) Monthly payment $480

I don't understand how Huffman Nissan is coming up with this payment. Also, is this really the best deal to be had on a 2007? We drove a different color Murano on Sunday that had an advertised price of $32855 on the windshield. It is not a demo, etc-- it's brand new. I was told today over the phone that price could be only be had on a purchase otherwise we'd need to ADD $2000 "to make up" for the rebate not offered on a lease thus making the sales price $34855!

Can someone please help? It seems like the $1500 (Nissan) rebate would have to be applied to get to this payment but I'm being told that money does not apply to leases. I also don't feel $33192 is the best they can do considering the 09's just came out. :confuse:

    Thanks!!!

I received a quote for the following:
    2009 Murano SL AWD
    Premium Package
    Leather Package
    Splash Guards
    Cargo Protector
    Floor Mats
MSRP is $33,040 and I was given a price of $30,469 (before TTL). This is NOT VPP pricing. It is about $100 over invoice price.

Is this a good price? With the economy in the crapper, I don't imagine people are getting in line to buy a $30k vehicle that requires premium fuel. I'm thinking maybe I should wait 4 to 6 months to see if Nissan offers any kind of incentives. Any thoughts on this?

That is a great price, i would jump all over that if you were. Where are you getting that price? I have pretty much decided on the 09 Murano over the RDX. Now i just need to work out a price like that and find my vehicle between a few dealers. Very curious to know how and where you got that price, thanks

Got my 2009 murano LE with Nav for $500 over invoice. One price store in PA. Delivered price, awesome deal....$500 over, no freight or processing fees. Fitzgerald Nissan claims to be $500 over invoice on all new Murano models. Best deal I could find, I'm coming from Georgia to get mine next Friday!!!!!

We went to McCarthy Nissan in Blue Springs, MO to look at the new 2009 model. We had driven a 2007 and liked the Murano, but really wanted to have integrated bluetooth. The sales manager stated that he had at least 10 2007 models that he would be willing to sell at a price that would make us forget about integrated bluetooth. So we took an SL out for a drive, reminded ourselves why we liked the car, then went in to see what kind of deal they were willing to make. The salesman went off to the sales manager's office, then came back with a piece of paper asking me to sign that I was serious and that we could complete a deal by COB on Monday. Then he came back with a price of $30,369 and had me initial again.

He went back to the manager's office and came back about 30 seconds later with a "deal" worksheet that included a trade in of $12,500 (not sure where that came from) and the delivered price of the car was approximately $34,500. Huh????

I immediately got up out of the chair, stated that there was nothing further to talk about and walked outside. The salesman and manager followed me out with the invoice and stated they couldn't possibly sell me that car for $30,369. And all of a sudden, neither of them could remember that they had my signature on a piece of paper with the $30,369 price.

Now, maybe someone made a mistake. And if they had so stated, and been honest about it, I might have been willing to continue negotiations. But because of the instant "amnesia" I am pretty sure I will not step inside that dealership again, ever.

Too bad...I was just about ready to give them my SSN and see what financing rates they could come up with. I could have driven the car home...I knew it was a really good price.

Mike (samf10) - Internet pricing is the only way to go. I requested quotes from all 15 Nissan dealerships in the Chicago area. The range between the highest and lowest price is quite surprising. The price I mentioned is from the Nissan dealership in Oak lawn. Good luck!

Could you tell me what the exact deal was that you got on the 09 LE with navagation from Fitzgerald Nissan. I am in PA and am begining to look for the best price for an 09 LE with a Navagation System in PA and MD.

    Thank You.

See post #1387 they are in Elmira,Ny, just over the pa/ny border. If your not trading anything in, they offer a decent price. I think $3301.00 off sticker is pretty good.

A dealer in Somerset, NJ has offered me a 09 Murano SL with Premium and Technology, and dual moonroof, packages for $33,400. Invoice price appears to be around $31,900 or so. MSRP on the car was $35,000. We essentially "split the baby" in terms of MSRP and Invoice. Good deal? Thoughts? :confuse:
  • eights38eights38 Member Posts: 145
mensch1971 - I think the price you got is aggressive for a brand new 2009 Nissan Murano, but you should be able to do a little bit better. If you need more help, please feel free to email me or reply.

    Hello All...

After going back and forth with the sales person here's "the best he can do":

    2007 SL AWD
Sunroof PKG (sunroof, bose system, 6 cd changer, roof rack, etc.)
    :: $28,000 before TTL.
    (about $5500 below sticker)
    1.9 finance for 3 yrs.

Price includes an after market leather installation (I guess is worth about $1,200).

Is it still worth considering for an '07?
  • 09murano09murano Member Posts: 15
They definately gave you a great price but you'll probably about break even overall considering the vehicle is now "2" years old.
  • jmpage2jmpage2 Member Posts: 268
Invoice pricing is available in several different places including cars.com. My local dealer in Colorado told me no probs at all about doing VPP even if we just put a deposit down and have the car ordered in the color/options we want (09 LE).

I was also told that there is a lease deal on the LE right now of 59% residual don't know what money factor is but I've seen .0300 thrown around (7.5%) which will hopefully get better in a month or two as the fed crashes rates.

At 59% residual and .0300 money factor the lease payment on an LE with moonroof (which is pretty well loaded) would be about $520 a month plus tax.
  • mensch1971mensch1971 Member Posts: 2
Eights38, would love a little more insight on what I can do to get better pricing. I do have, through my company, the Car Perks service which is supposed to give me several hundred dollars off the lowest internet pricing offered by another dealer than the one I went to this weekend. With regard to the price I got offered, they were pretty adamant about not going under $33K, I might be able to get a few hundred more off but I think that would be it for this dealer.
  • jmpage2jmpage2 Member Posts: 268
Dealers only sell at invoice or $500 over invoice, etc, if they can't get a better price for a car from another buyer. On a new popular vehicle this is usually not the case.

Sometimes a dealer might do such a deal on a new popular vehicle if they need to hit a certain number of vehicles and you make a purchase at the end of the month or quarter.

Some markets are also better/worse than others. You might have a very hard time getting an AWD Murano '09 SL close to invoice in a market like Colorado, but might be able to get such a deal in Texas or GA where AWD is not popular and people won't spend the money for it.

Find out if you can get VPP pricing through Nissan through your work. VPP works out to around $500-$800 over invoice and is usually one of the best deals you can get on a Nissan that's selling well in the market.
  • steevosteevo Member Posts: 389
The Fed rate has nothing to do with these lease factors. It is all for profit. NMAC can set the rate at whatever they please. They currently offer leases at less than 1% MF but not on hot items like new Murano.
  • muranofanmuranofan Member Posts: 3
I got confused about the MSRP price for the new 2009 Murano. When I built a murano on Nissan's website, it comes up with a MSRP price of $28,030. However, when I did the inventory search, I found the exact same car has a MSRP price for $29,530. The murano that I built is 2009 Murano S Front-Wheel Drive with convenience package, splash guards, floor mats, and cargo area protector. Anyone know what's going on there? :confuse:
