I don't share your view of them aesthetically, though... Yuck..lol.
Style 119s off the '04 325i sport package (17 X 8) would be my first choice.. then style 96 ('03 325i sport) or style 44 ('01-'02 325i sport).. All of those are 17 X 8 and take 225/45-17....

I myself would like to know what deals there are in Toronto.
Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

As for 19" and 20" wheels fitting on an E90; yes, they will fit and no, they will not void the warranty. Having said that, I'm having a difficult time understanding why you would want to. Looks? Bling, bling?
Adding larger wheels with tires that amount to little more than rim protectors (if that) don't do much for the driving dymanics or the longevity of the componentry of the car though. By that I mean that at any given level of quality, the 19" and 20" set will weigh incrementally more than the 17" or 18" set you will be replacing them with. What that extra unsprung weight translates into is more stress and wear on the brakes and suspension components, shortening their life and hurting performance. Added to those two undesirable side-effects you have potentially shorter tire and wheel life due to road hazards as common as a railroad crossing or even a stray rock of reasonable size.

Size Overall Diameter
205 /55/ 16 is 24.9 to 25 in's
225 /45/ 17 is 25 in's
225/ 40/ 18 is 25 in's
Look's to me that 25 in's is the max for overall diameter!!
Hope this helps someone.

"It is better to look good than to drive good..."
225/60 R15 -- 25.9" diameter
225/55 R16 -- 25.7" diameter
235/45 R17 -- 25.2" diameter
255/40 R17 -- 25.1" diameter
245/40 R18 -- 25.9" diameter
275/35 R18 -- 25.8" diameter
Interestingly enough, the two tires with the largest overall diameter were the ones that fit on the 15" wheels of the lowly 520i and those that were mounted on the 18" wheels of the bad boy of the group, the M5.

I suppose that if I wanted to be "All-Show" and "No-Go", errr, well, "Lots of Go in a Straight Line", I'd get a 300C SRT-8. Hey! It even comes with 20" wheels! :shades:

i hear that the comfort access feature will be available in September. If i get the car now, will I be able to install it later? Anyone know about this?
ps- comfort access is the one that allows you turn your engine on just by having the key on you and not necessarily in the dash like it is now.
Thanks

You probably wouldn't like the wheels my mom has on her S80:
The standard wheels for that year looked as if they were designed to look like hubcaps, however:
Nearly anything is possible, there are people with 5-series that put the European dashboard in, and people with Jettas and Golfs that put the Euro gauge cluster in, it's just a matter of what you're willing to spend, but if you are dead set on having the Comfort access, you need to order it from the factory.
Please stop hitting "refresh" after you have posted a message. It reposts the message again. If you shop around, you can find a dealer willing to give you a discount on a 2006 3-series. I do not know what a 5% MSRP discount equates to, but it appears that they are available in some regions for $1000-$1500 over invoice, at the right dealer.
For what it's worth, most folks shopping for a BMW look for an "Invoice Plus" deal, as in $1,500 over invoice. That effectively makes the MSRP irrelevant.

At best, assuming the little key gizmo communicates with the car over the already installed Bluetooth (and I have no idea if it would or not), it's a reprogram and key replacement.
It sucks because the Infiniti G35 has it already
And yeah, I like nice shoes so yeah, the rims would be about looks, superficial touches. So they will fit, good, and yeah, the known 'side effects' Thats the COST OF BLING for yah, no.... haha. Well 20s no cuz it prollie would look like a Hot Wheel! At least 19's tho cuz if not, I might as well stick with the SportsPackg. Simply put, it would be hope-filled attempt to extenuate the 'wrechtedness' haha, of the unfortunate fact that I can't roll in the 5 Series!! Not a brand new one at least. Plus I need power, the 525i doesn't provide that. So do any of you have BMW's with nice-sized rims, if so, how has that effected/affected your driving experience?
>
What is your email?
Hehe. Yeah, I had the BMW Type 42 Two-Piece wheels on my 530i. They were 17x8" in size and they were VERY NICE. I only wish I could fit a set on a new E90 330i SP, unfortunately I just don't think they will fit properly.

That's great news if it's true, it means I don't need comfort access! I don't mind reaching into my pocket and pressing a button to unlock the doors, but I do mind taking out a huge keyring and plugging it in so it can jangle all the way home...
Also, in the current models, I do not need to push a button to open the doors correct? But I have to plug in the key into a slot to start the engine (this is what we will have to verify)
thanks skimo
So much for Comfort Access, now if only the car would park itself!
As for parking itself, Toyota's Prius (and I believe Yaris) has this an option in Japan.
Comfort access is not part of this release.

As for the 300 SRT, The June C/D reports that the car has brakes and handling to match the 425 bhp. A 0-60 time of 4.7 seconds is very quick-especially considering that it's a 4200 lb. sled with a slushbox. I may have to get a Magnum SRT for my commuter sled-Banana Yellow please, and hold the moonroof and roof rack. I'd have to take it a drivers school just once; I wonder how much those 20" gumballs cost? :P

Hmmm, a Banana Yellow Magnum SRT? Too cool. :shades:
Hmmm (again), how about this for your next set of rides:
Get the Banana SRT, stick a hitch on it, buy a nice trailer and then use that rig to tow your M1 around to various events (track an otherwise). My brother lives about six blocks from the central focal point of the Dream Cruise in Royal Oak, MI, and I'm sure that both of those rides would attract a crowd along Woodward Ave. ;-)
A few years ago when Mrs. Shipo and I packed the kids off to Royal Oak for a long weekend of cars, tall tales and imbibing, I begged my (then) neighbor if I could tow his very cherry 1963 Split Window (with only 22,000 on the clock) to the Dream Cruise with me, and he almost said yes. That wouldn't have had quite the impact of a Magunm SRT/M1 combo, but it would have been nice nonetheless. ;-)

Shipo

How about a Yellow Magnum, a Henna M1, and a red K1 for my pit bike. Yowza! :shades:

Anyway, there's a chance I'll have my car tomorrow! They JUST got it on the lot, and my dealer said it looks s-w-e-e-t. Got the Terra/Black leather.
