I just in bmwusa.com that there is a 2000 buildout allowance. Will this have a different MF and Residual? I see you stated buildout allowance is gone so wanted to be sure.

The information we have doesn't show it; but, that's not a definitive answer. I would suggest you check with the dealer.

MF and residual won't change, regardless.

Also, what is a reasonable range for doc fees?

59% / 58% for 30/10 and 30/12

Doc fees vary by state. Some states cap them (CA = $80, NY = $75), others charge truly frightening amounts - I've seen doc fees in Florida of $800-900. I pay around $500 here in CO.

Anyone know whether sales tax will have to be paid on the $2,000 buildout cash and/or on the credit given by BMW Financial Services for the $7,500 tax credit? The vehicle will be registered in Kentucky, but I have been looking in nearby states and have gotten varying answers from dealers. Thanks!

BMWFS gets the credit as the owner of the car, and passes it along in the form of a customer incentive (just like the buildout cash).

In most states (including KY, I think), those factory to consumer incentives are taxed.

The finance manager confirmed the 63% RV for both 24- and 30-month leases at 12k, but he said the MF went up also, to .00180. (He showed me a BMWFS table with the .00180 MF for 740+ credit rating. The RVs went way up from April to May on 2015 — maybe the MFs did, too? Can anyone confirm the .00138 MF for May?

.00138 is the base rate for the 2015 i3 in May.

Now I'm being told there is no Loyalty credit for May. The dealer is in Maryland. Any idea if that is true?

Mike, Could you take a look at the quote provided and run thru your lease calc? I ran it thru a calc I modeled from Lease Hacker as well as the Lease Hacker calc. I came up with a monthly of $202 pre-tax. This BMW dealer wants $259 pre-tax. Where is the disconnect? I suspect that their "Tot Cap Reduction" is less than what it should be.

It is. The $3995 you're giving them goes to the bank fee, license and doc fees, and first payment. The remainder is added to the rebate of $7500 for the cap reduction.

I get the same payment with their numbers. Nothing hidden here, other than the $1204 for the "acq fee" seems high. Base fee is $925 - what else is in that number?

And, you can use MSDs to buy down the MF.

Talked with Sale Mngr. "Tot Cap Reduction" is Fed Tax Credit ($7500) + Dn Pmt ($3995) - Lic+Doc ($500) - ACQ Fee ($1204) - State Tax on Fed Tax Credit and Dn Pmt ($897).

Is this the way it works? Lowering my Cap Reduction by subtracting: Lic, Doc, ACQ Fee, and State Tax on Fed Credit and Dn Pmt ????

Did not see this coming. Appreciate any clarity you can share.

OK. I think you answered the questions I posed in both posts.

They upped the ACQ Fee by removing the air in the tires and adding Nitrogen ! And added 3M protectors to the doors....

Dealer is claiming 62% residual. The only BEV they have is a shadow edition so they are sticking pretty close to sticker plus the low residual and jacked up MF make it a pass. Nice car though

For the 2015 i3, I show the following numbers:

.00137 MF
24/15 and 30/15 - 61%
36/15 - 55%

Add 2% for 12k and 3% for 10K

$2000 buildout allowance and $7500 lease credit.

If a dealer is offering $10K off of sticker on a 2016 i3, can you take the MSRP of $49,995 minus the $10K = $39,995 and then structure you lease from that point? So $39,995 Negotiated price and the take the $7,500 Lease Credit and $1,000 Build Credit for an adjusted CAP price of $31,495??? Or is the dealer factoring in the $7,500 and $1,000 and then reducing the price and additional $1,500 to come up with the $10,000 off and thus the adjusted CAP is the $39,995?

I think I may have just answered my own question. Looks like they are taking $2,500 off sticker and applying the $7,500 credit. I guess I was dreaming! ;o)
