Went to the Chicago Auto Show this past weekend to help decide between the Audi 1.8t fwd, Camry, G35, Accord Ex V6, Passat & Mazda 6. Loved what the TSX offered for the price, depite the smaller engine. Ordered mine from Continental Acura of DuPage, $1600 under MSRP. Red, Auto, no nav. Got $200 over kbb/edmunds on trade-in. Taking delivery in three weeks.

Trying to get a ballpark figure for a new TSX auto, no navi, in Miami area. Anyone have experiences they are willing to share?

Also, I have a 02' 3.2TL and love the responsiveness at high speeds( above 80mph) Just curious as to how the TSX responds at higher velocities, including triple digit speeds. Not that any of us Acura owners break the posted legal limits.

    Thanks

I just bought a TSX from Spitzer in Pgh- Didn't have much time to travel to dealership and "haggle"- Internet Sales Manager was very helpful went above and beyond to give me the best possible deal. $26,394 including what they call a protection package (wheel locks, trunk tray, and mud guards- Stuff i didn't really want). Contacted six other dealers and only 2 got back to me. Other than that Very Satisfied-- Love the car-- and questions please post-- I will help out if I can.

The out-the-door prices (including Dade county taxes, tags, title, registration, dealer fees, etc.) I was quoted a short while ago for an auto/NON-navi TSX in South FL were in the $28200 to $28600 range.

Contacted dealers from Palm Beach south by e-mail/phone. Of that group, Rick Case Acura was the most responsive & best to deal with. Miami Acura & Delray Acura were OK, too. Everyone else, well ....

    Good luck with your search.

Fredvh - since this discussion is specifically for the purpose of sharing prices paid and purchasing experiences with the TSX, you should ask your question in our general Acura TSX discussion ...

Just bought and took possession of a non-navi yesterday. Vehicle price, including destination charge = $24,746, less $3,000 on a trade for a '94 Integra LS, 100K miles. Then add tax, tags, etc.

gloves, which of the two Jax dealers did you buy from? How easy was it to get them to your sales price? Tried to send you an email directly but your email is private in your profile. Thanks for any additional info.
  • glovesgloves Member Posts: 20
Kelly523. I'm new to the Town Hall, and not sure if I'm responding in the right place. I bought it at Acura of Orange Park. They want to sell cars. I did my homework, and gave them my price. I let them know that I was considering another car, and wasn't drooling over the TSX (it's business, not personal. I let them know that either car would do - it came down to price). They were very friendly, I was firm, and it took a few hours. Overall, they're pleasant, respectful, and a good group to do business with.

What price are people paying for there TSX's in nor cal. I live in the bay area and having a tough time finding a good deal down here. I am hearing of deals at 25500.00 in this room and 27000 with navi. All these prices are out of california though. Any suggestions or referals? Any advice would be greatly appriciated.

Guys , i am new to this forum and need some advice about the price of TSX, i have been offered 25500 for non/nav. i did made an offer of 24750 as per message 439 but dealer is not bulging from the price. dealer also have an demo model with 5k miles on it ( not a loaner, it was used by fleet manager for his personal use) w/nav ,rear spoiler, underbody kit, moon visor, very sharp looking car, msrp is 32000 , their last price is 28900. please help me out with some advice. do you guys think its fair price for a demo?.
  • johnny420johnny420 Member Posts: 473
No on the demo, yes on the $25,500 for the new TSX. No matter what they tell you, you have no idea how that demo has been driven.

The $1,535 off MSRP is one of the better deals I've heard so far. Get them to throw in the protection package, and you've got yourself a pretty good deal.

If the TSX is the car you really want, go for it.

Just pickup my carbon gray TSX with blk interior, nav, and dealer package(fender trim, wheel locks, mud guards) for 27750 including destination charge. Did not pay any extra fees, just the standard tax, cal license, and 45.00 doc fee. I also got 4.2% finance based on my good credit.
Actually, I had a better deal the previous night (27600), which was verbally agreed by the sale manager at a big dealership (Keyes). But when I called the next day for an appointment, he negated the deal and pretended that I misled him about the car option. I was really tick off, and contacted other dealers. I got one offer for 27900 with the trunk tray as extra option item. Another offer was 27850 with no dealer added option, but it was the wrong color. With frustration, I dialed the last Acura dealer number on my list, Metro, and within 1/2 hr I sealed the deal.
I am very happy with my new TSX.....

Bought a black non-nav with parchment interior for $25450 from Jones Acura in Honda. Negotiation consisted of one three minute call to the internet manager. The Mechanicsburg dealer, closer to me, suggested he might sell faor $25800 if I committed instantly. Their earlier price was about $26,200. The Reading dealer, by internet, was $50 over Jones. The Jones people were a pleasure to deal with.

Only complaints (love the car): the heated seats doen't seem powerful compared to others I have been in and the radio does a poor job picking up stations. Looks, handling, gas mileage, fit and finish and value for the dollar are all first rate.

I was looking at this site because a freind of mine just bought one of these cars. I find that it is a great package for the money. He just bought a silver, manual, no navigation for around the price these people are talking. He got it through a broker in Sonoma somewhere. I think it was norcal brokers or something like that. I'll ask him again.
  • redkey1redkey1 Member Posts: 270
Just signed on a TSX Automatic non-NAV in Black w/ parchment interior. Paid $25,495 plus $202 in doc / registry fees. Got a great deal on my trade. Car was just built in Japan and will be ready in late March.

Ok, I got the full name from my buddy. It is Norcal Auto Brokers. I found them using yahoo search and it came right up. I will let everyone know what their price is when I have finally decided on what car and options I am getting. I am going to look at the TL too.

I emailed the internet salesperson with a figure of $27,000 for a TSX with Nav. Is that wishful thinking? Where do most people see their deals ending up at for sales price?

Just purchased a TSX Black/Parchment/Auto for $25,800 - I had offers from other dealers in the Ohio, Southern Michigan area for the same car from 25,500 to 25,800. I bought it from my local dealer to save on the time and travel to the other dealers 2 hours away. Very impressed with this car. Excellent build quality and a pleasure to drive. I also was able to take advantage of the 2.9% financing offer from Acura. (I only wish it had an XM capable radio.)

    Hey 123sjb,

Where did you end up buying in NEOhio? I'm also there and have just started looking around. Thanks.

I was seriously interested in leasing a TSX, till I saw the new BMW lease deal on the 325i:
24 months, 10k miles a year, $2500 downpay, for $289 a month. That includes Auto and Moonroof.

Now, I know, auto is not what people want on a bmw, and the miles are low, but my last lease was a integra and I only put 18k on it in 3 years (i live close to work). The wife needs something she can drive too, and that means automatic.

So I'm thinking, can I get near this kind of a deal on a TSX, or should i just get the bmw?
Anyone had any luck on lease deals here?
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 255,814
I think that deal on the BMW is for a car with an MSRP of about $32K. That car won't have leather, power seats, HID headlights, upgraded stereo, auto climate control, CD changer, etc..

When you factor the down-payment back in, it comes out to about $400/mo with no money down.

I think you can probably negotiate a 3yr/36k lease on a TSX for that, and it will have all those options.

Three things to consider if going with the BMW:
    1) Can you stay under 10K miles per year?
    2) Will you be happy without those options?
    3) Is there some advantage to you, to only lease for two years? Cars will only get more expensive.. A good lease that lasts for 3 years, will keep you from having to get a more expensive car even sooner.

And last... I know BMW is advertising that lease, but make sure you can actually find a car outfitted that way. I think they might be very rare.

viewsonix, I was in the same boat as you. I was torn between a 325i stripped for $299 a month and $3000 drive off and a fully loaded TSX with Nav for $339 and $2000 drive off. The 325 was a good deal but only came with moonroof. I opted for the TSX simply because it was loaded and I really wanted a Nav system which is top notch. The 325 did soak up bumps better, handled slightly better and felt more solid, but the LSX had great reliability record, many, many more standard options, longer lease at 48 months, leather, etc. A two-year lease is a VERY short lease. You'll have to shell out another $2k cap reduction on another lease in just two years. The BMW did have a great warranty and complete service included, which can save a lot on maintenance costs on a bmw. It's a tough call. If you want a great car with lots of bells and whistles, the TSX wins. If you want a great car with no frills, but better looking, has more prestige, has slightly better performance and are willing to flip it in two years, go with the 325. You can't go wrong with either.

I just leased a TSX non-navi for 42 months, 12K miles a year, $1500 walk away, for $375 including tax. Did the Beemer deal include tax? I think you will find when and if you try to complete that deal, the price will be considerably higher

I'll second the above and raise them a recommendation to the lease information available here on edmunds about why it's best to NOT put money down up front. With a lease, you aren't buying any ownership in the vehicle; any cap cost reduction (even though most people say it's the lease equivalent of a down payment) is actually just pre-paying part of your monthly payment, and if the car is totalled and paid off by insurance, you lose that money.

So, if you take the $2500 down and divide by 24 months, you get an extra $104 per month (actually costs you more since you lose use of the money for 2 years, when it could be invested). Your actual monthly payment then becomes $393, and the deal doesn't look like such a screamer.

A better way to go to protect your self would be to sign the lease with no money down and put the $2500 in an account you use to help make the monthly payment - that way if the car is totaled, you still have whatever's left of you $2500 simoleans (spelling?).

Also, I really wanted a 3 series myself, and that's where my heart is still. But, I couldn't find one optioned the way I wanted, and didn't want to take the time to order (and for you bimmer-philes, ED was out, too). So you may have difficulty finding one with just a auto and roof. A dealership will still be happy to use the same lease terms (moneyfactor and residual) but with the higher cost of a optioned out dealer stock unit, your payment will balloon (funny how that happens...).

The TSX is a screaming value and with the very strong residual can be had for much less than a bimmer.

Wow, didn't mean to write so much - this is more like 5 cents worth...

Does anyone know what base Money Factor ACURA uses for their leases?
  • redkey1redkey1 Member Posts: 270
So, I had a deal w/ dealer on a 2004 auto non-nav for $25,500 and they had to swap for it. While waiting, another dealer emailed me as a followup to an earlier email by me offering the car for $650 less plus meeting the 1st dealers trade-in offer.

Here is the problem, I had a great experience w/ Internet Sales Mgr and another saleman at the 1st dealer so I feel like it is bad business on my part. The guy at the 2nd dealer is somewhat arrogant / pushy but he has a rock bottom price and the dealer is closer in proximity to my office. I would prob go there for service no matter who I buy from.

    Any suggestions?
  • hunter001hunter001 Member Posts: 851
I would vote for going with the dealership where you would be doing your service.....the fact that they offered you a price that is better than the other dealership is just icing on the cake. JMHO.

But make sure that they honor the price they offered through the email and that it is not a ploy to get you to the dealership and then punch you with a higher price.

    Later...AH
  • fredvhfredvh Member Posts: 857
I disagree with hunter (no offense). You had a deal with the first dealer at 25,500(which is a very good price) and, in fact, they had to swap for it. I feel you cannot just tell them "no" at this point. You may advise the first dealership of the other offer that you have received and try to work out the deal at a few more hundred off but you did commit to the first deal. I think it would be inconsiderate of you to negate the first deal. Of course, I am only saying this IMHO. I do not know all of the facts in your case.
The price of the second dealer is just $158 over the invoice and I just believe that the price of $24,850 from the second dealer is just too good to be true.
  • redkey1redkey1 Member Posts: 270
The 1st dealer told me he cannot take another $650 off, esp w/ the swap. He has offered to give back my deposit if that is what I want. I left him a msg asking how we could work it out (I was going to have fogs installed).

Dealer 2 is the high volume dealer in the area, but I agree it seems too good a deal. I also am not sure if he is being truthful about having the car on the lot. The original internet request said black on black, but I wanted black / tan. I specifically mentioned that I only wanted black / tan but when I last spoke w/ him he again said "you wanted blk / blk, right?".....I said "no" and after hesitating "he said no big deal, we have one of those in also.".

Service aspect could be an issue, but I can tell that the guy at the 1st dealership would bend over backwards if there was any big issue w/ the car. I was just a sale to the other guy.
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 255,814
I'm in the middle.. I guess it depends on what constitutes a deal. Are they actively looking for your car? Did you put down a deposit? Do they expect to have your car within the next week?

If it really is a done deal, and they are just waiting for the car to get there (meaning: they have located it), then I would feel obligated. But, if you just talked numbers, and don't have a contract or buyers order with all of those numbers spelled out, then its all just speculation.

Before I would cut and run, I'd make sure that the other dealer has your car, or can get it the next day. The fact that you have a trade makes the number he's putting on the new car not as important. The difference is all that matters. With the variance in the number they can put on a trade, you can't assume that the number they put on the new car is too low to be believable.

Assuming you are happy with the number they put on your trade, then it sounds like a good deal either way. Good luck!

I sure would try to work something out with the first dealer. They can install the fogs, etc. pretty reasonably at their prices. That way it would not cost the dealership very much. I still doubt the second deal is realistic but you will not know until you see the final papers. What would you do if the second deal fell through? Go back to the first dealer?
  • redkey1redkey1 Member Posts: 270
Dealer #2 said they would meet the other's trade offer (which according to Terry the auction guru on another thread) was very agressive.

The car arrived yesterday afternoon after being trucked from NYC to Boston.

Dealer 1 has $202 of doc / registry fees. Dealer 2 has $225.

Now, you have a dilemma... They actually had that car trucked in for you from Boston?

Did the dealer seem upset that you were backing out? I know they can sell the car easily, but sounds like they went to some extra expense.

I'm glad I don't have to make that decision. I do like to buy where I get serviced, though...

He was basically the anti-stereotypical car salesman (Internet Sales Manager)......I didn't want to buy from the 2nd dealer but it was a good deal. I am glad we were able to work it out and I would send anyone who wanted an acura to him in a heartbeat.

just got a quote from a dealer in VA on a TSX of $399 per month 48/12000 1st payment down only. Is this a good deal? What is the residual on a TSX?
  • manavimanavi Member Posts: 150
Why in the world would someone lease a car for 4 years?
  • redkey1redkey1 Member Posts: 270
That is ridiculous.....a tsx is about $25.5k. At 4% for 60 months that works out to be $500 a month figuring on 7% tax. For $100 a month, and an extra year, you would own it. Online banks also offer 72 month loans, prob closer to 5%....you'd be looking at $440 w/ 0 down.
