Best price was at Boston Acura.
I have been babying it a bit to break it in (they say 200 miles) so I have not had a chance to puch it hard. On the test drive I did drive it hard and it responds well. the one thing i have noticed is how fast the car moves and how little you feel it. It is quite easy to go from 30 mph to 60 mph on a back road w/o realizing it. I would agree the ride is a bit on the stiff side, but it does soak up the bumps. Obviously almost anything is going to be stiffer than a camry.
I love it so far and my fiancee says that the inside is cozy. She likes the dual climate controls especially.
SoCal - I would say 25,200 is a good deal. I got mine for $25,500 w/ fogs and wheel locks. See if they'll throw in goodies (mats, wheel locks etc) to sweeten the deal.
Later...AH
Best offer is $26,535 with accessory package (I believe includes mud flaps, etc) worth $ 314. I would like tinted windows and fog lights. I can't believe the prices I'm reading on this site, just wondering if I can get a deal that good down here in H-town. Any suggestions for newly divorced mother that might help in buying a TSX.
I emailed 3 dealers in the Detroit suburbs with an offer of $25,300 for a CG/Ebony/Auto/No Navi. I gave them a specific day that I would purchase if they presented the right offer. I've only gotten one reply back so far, which is fine because I accepted it. Acura of Troy came back with $25,500 + tax, title, etc. I called them the next day and said it is a done deal if he throws in the protection pkg. He accepted, we did the credit app over the phone, and I'm picking it up on Friday. It was quick and painless for both me and the salesman. That's how car buying should be, and can be if you're smart and know exactly what you want.
I've done a lot of research on prices, and $25,500 seems to be the going rate for a non-navi TSX. Either email your offer to various dealers or walk into the dealer at the end of the month and say you'll buy the car for $2x,xxx right now. It helps if they have the car you want on the lot already, but someone will take your offer.
Good Luck!

can anyone shed any light here? Are you paying this for your TL or any new car for that matter. no one above seems to claim to have paid it, but then again, every dealer is asking for it, so something has got to give.
thanks for your help
As I see you are in MA, I would advise sending an email to Clair Acura as that is where I ended up, their Internet salesman is great.
Granted, this purchase was 1)end of the month, 2)off the lot, and 3)motivated buyer.
1)find a dealer with excess inventory
2)visit at the end of the month
3)make them an offer they don't really want to refuse (cash in hand)
When a dealer robs you blind, I doubt they tell you to keep it a secret . . .
The people that scour (or prowl) these boards DEMAND rock bottom pricing. We never pay MSRP and often get deals close to invoice while still buying what we want.
They will sell you the car at $xx,xxx.xx if you "promise not to tell anyone what you paid."
It's an old car salesman selling tactic. They want you to do just the opposite. They want you to tell your friends that you got such a good deal at XYZ dealership that the salesman said to keep your mouth shut about the price. They want your friend to come in looking for a car and that elusive great price. Meanwhile they tell him that that was a one-time promotion and work him over to purchase while he is there. Getting the buyer into the dealership is half the battle...
The average price for a non-navi right now is in the $25,500 (not including tax, tag, and title) range according to recent posts. At that price the dealer is making 9.4% profit (if you factor in the 3% Acura Holdback).
Bottom line, the dealer has a lot of room to play with and still make a great profit. The fact that this car is selling well doesn't help the buyer. No one is getting a great deal until the profits come down to the 3-5% range.
This is the price we pay for buying a car that is new and in demand.
I was in a dilema for the longest time, not being able to figure out if I should buy a brand new TSX, or a used BMW 325. Finally decided to go for the TSX with Navigation, and i am glad i did. I love it every bit.
I visited several dealers, and called the others on the fone. Most of them said they will sell the car at MSRP ($29035). Others said they wud dicount $1035, and sell it for 28 K. I wanted a black car with the parchment interior, auto with Nav. Nobody had it on their lot, and the nearest car was a 110 miles away.
I then looked up prices on carsdirect.com, put in a order & waited. Promptly, the next day, a sales guy contacted me. Very professional indeed, confirmed the color, options, etc & how soon, i could buy it. I said, i could pick it up in the evening after work. He found the car that was 110 miles away, arranged for it to be shipped to a nearby dealer, and i picked it up the next day. For a price of $27512 ($1000 over invoice). The car had some extra options in it, like wheel locks, a trunk mat & mud flaps. I had to pay another 245 for that, but i wud have gotten that anyways.. Although i think i got jipped a little bit ther, but whats $200, when you are spending 30K.
The dealer asked me if I was interested in the extended warranty, which I politely denied.
Including TTL, I paid $30348 out the door.
invoice price - dealer holdback - any incentives + 3% to 5% profit
are two different things. The later is next to impossible due to supply and demand of the TSX.
If the dealer tells you not to tell anyone what you paid, the dealer wants you to do the opposite. He's relying on human nature. It helps drive people into the showroom. "I'm going to XYZ, they gave jblaze such a great deal, they told him not to tell anyone." It's free advertising. They say this line to a lot of people regardless of the deal they received.
Also, if you based your decisions on and benefited from information gathered from this board, please share the wealth and help out the next guy trying to buy. Post what you paid and the experience of purchasing. Give back to the community, it's what this board is all about. And if you were able to get the second type of deal I described, then we all REALLY want to know about it! Thanks!
Okay maroon_orange, I've given back. We agree to a certain extent.
