I just paid $35,000 for a 2007 w/technology package in Ohio. It had 24,000 miles on it and was orginally titled in March 2007 and only had one owner. I did a ton of research and depending on what packages you want and the miles on the car, you will pay between 32,000 - 38,000 for one w/reasonable miles.
I also have a 2004 w/125,000 miles on it that we kept.

The 2010 MDX will have true USB iPod integration where the iPod will display on the navigation screen and be adjustable via the steering wheel controls.

The 2007-2009 models merely have an AUX jack near the front console (if the model has the entertainment system, the jack might be in back, don't quote me). The iPod will play through the sound system, but you'll still have to take your eyes off the road to look down at your iPod to fiddle with it. With that said, it's better than no iPod option at all!

It could be this pre-owned model you were looking at had Acura/Honda's ill-fated "iPod accessory" that fit in the glove box, didn't work, and was a complete failure. Don't confuse that for something worthwhile.

A 3rd party option like the USA Spec iPod® Interface would not be bad alternative to look into installing.

After doing research and reading many comments, I have narrowed my used car search to Accura MDX 2007 model. However, the price is out of my range of $20,000 - $25,000. If I wait till early 2010, can I get something in that range? Thank you.

While accelerating sometimes there's a loud clapping sound from the engine compartment or from underneath the engine, tranny maybe. A single pop, very loud and startling, followed by a momentary loss of power. Like a misfire, or a tractor.
Dealer is clueless or is pretending to be. Does anyone know about this?

    1) Is the trans like the RDX in that it will hold gear in manual to the rev limit?

    2) Is there a computer to tell when the oil needs to be changed based on multiple factors - load, temps, miles, etc? Or just by human intel?

    Thanks,

    Doug

    1) Yes, it holds the gear. I've mistakenly left it in manual a few times and found that I was doing 30mph @6500rpm.

    2) The oil computer, I was told, is not just a mileage ticker. It takes into account different variables. I ignore it and change the oil every 5k miles w/ Mobil 1.

    Thanks for the answers.

A couple more question if I may.

    1) I'm 6' 2" tall, could you say if fitting comfortably will be a problem? I have not taken a test drive yet.

    2) Overall what do you like the most and the least?

Well, I'm at least that tall and i have enough room, the previous gen. MDX was roomier, they decided to go with more of a "cockpit" type feel with the 2nd generation. The only thing that still bugs me is the drivers door grab handle, it smacks me in the knee and its hard plastic.

The RDX is definitely a more snug fit and not comfortable for me.

What I like best is it's split personality. Put it in comfort mode (Sport model) and massage the gas pedal and it's a [non-permissible content removed] cat, Put it in sport mode and mash the pedal and it's 300 hp track monster w/ the brakes to match it! Alright, i might have gotten a little carried away... :)

Folks, I'm considering buying an 07 Cert Pre-owned MDX - base model.

What do I need to know about any problems this particular year may have - any major transmission problems cause prior to 07 they had bad history with tranny

    Appreciate your help. :)

I bought my used '07 MDX 6 months back. I also hear the similar noise and it happens when the gas tank is full. The technician said, that may be a design problem and unfortunately no fix for now. Did you get your problem fixed by any chance? Thanks and appreciate your response.

I'd be very surprised if bumbie replied to you 3 1/2 years after making that post but here is my experience:

Our '04 MDX had the "swish", it was because there was insufficient baffelling in the gas tank. No biggie.

Our '07 MDX does not have this issue and I am surprised that your tech gave you such an ambigous answer.

    Thanks for your response.

I don't see many complains about this issue. I guess, it may a random issue. I am also not sure how big of an issue and what else can be done if the dealer is not ready to address at this moment. Any advice?

I would like to take care of it before the warranty expires.

Has anyone towed a small (16' - 19') travel trailer?

    Please share your towing experience.
