I picked up my H3 yesterday. It is superior blue, Adventure Package, 6 disk , the $299 DVD players, black step, brush guard, and a few other options. After driving it home a total of 20 miles I found the one option that everyone must have is the MUD Flaps. The road trash flies all over the side of your H3 coating the mirrors, door handles (front and back), and the fenders. I went on line this a.m. and bought a set. I do not mind mud on my H3 if it has earned it, just driving on roads I like it clean. The GMID number is a good deal.
Dear Paul,I am planning on buying a new H 3 and would appreciate it if you could get me a gmid certificate.Every little bit helps.I worked for gm in college and want them to succed.Thank you Dave
"If you want a comfortable, carlike SUV, go buy one, there are dozens to choose from. But if it's a hard-core, go-anywhere truck that lights your fire, the 2006 Hummer H3 delivers.
It's like a billy goat off-road, it intimidates other drivers like it has a cannon mounted to its roof and you can park it on smaller vehicles in crowded urban parking lots."
You are absolutely correct about the mudguards after I put mine on the truck stays clean. I got the Husky which looks better than the pic and fit perfectly. They are also a lot cheaper than the dealer.
Sorry everyone we are out of GMID's this month will have 4 more Feb. 1 Others here on list have GMID's available. Look around. You need to email me with your birthdate and last 4 numbers of your SS# to get a GMID. Sorry everyone, will post again FEB 1 when we get more. Paul Francis
I am looking at teh Husky mud flaps but seem to find a very large variance of prices from $69.00 to $29.00. SUXaccessories seems to have the best price. I am looking for a spare tire cover to, anyon ehave a suggested retailer? Thanks
The Husky flaps (29.95) at the link in my post will be cheaper as they give free shipping.I put them on and they look perfect. They had 10% off until yesterday. If you just want a plain tire cover Advance Auto Parts has several starting at about 15 (part# 95014 ) If you want one that says Hummer you might want to try ebay, I have seen several on there.
I finally picked up my superior blue H3 (thanks for the GMID number Mr. Ott). I have put about 300 miles on it and really enjoy it. It cruises well down the highway, is very quiet, feels well built, and the stereo is awesome.
A few issues so far, the 6 disk stereo is mounted slightly crooked so it the radio surround is a tick off. I have called about it and the service department said to just bring it in and they will fix it. I do have a peave, the center counsel is nice and deep and most of the ones I test drove had a nice little basket in the counsel. The dealer claims those small baskets only come in the Lux models which I find had to beleive but impossible to dispute.
I have ordered the husky mud flaps based on the majority of H3 owners and a Spare tire cover.
Check on another model similiar to yours and see if the basket is in the console. If it is ask the dealership to provide the part and if it does not come with your model, see if you can order it for your H3. The Husky Floor Mats are the best investment to make. I've had them in my Trucks for the last 10 years and they keep the truck very clean and they look nice if kept up. The mud flaps are also a good investment to prevent body damage from rocks and so forth. Even if you have solid steps, they are a good idea. If you can, take a picture of your cd changer area in case the dealership damages the surrounding area. That will help you in your discussions with them if you have any problems and hopefully you don't.
The pic is a good idea. As we were lookng at the face plate surrounding the stereo we notice there was a small chip in it already likr some one had opened it before. It has been 14 years since I bought GM because of stupid stuff like that and I hope they do not drive me away again. I haver the HUMMER rubber mats inside, much better than the carpeted mats. I am not sure how to check to see the small basket come in the hummer except next time I go to the dealer. Should be this Friday. Will post the results of my service visit
As we were lookng at the face plate surrounding the stereo we notice there was a small chip in it already likr some one had opened it before. It has been 14 years since I bought GM because of stupid stuff like that That sure is a poor reason for not buying GM. Come on maybe someone else test drove the vehicle and chipped it or god forbid, maybe it came that way. These are built by humans, the same as the foregn junk. Do you think that Hummer was ordered to just sit on the lot waiting on you? If you are that nit- picky I sure would hate to sell you a car no matter whos it was. Get it fixed and go on with your life. :P
No matter what amount you pay for a vehicle, it's interior and exterior should be in excellent condition. True some sort of damage will occur during building, shipping and test driving. The dealership should take care of the customer's concerns and leave the vehicle in a near new condition. I'll admit before I pick up a vehicle, I'll take it home first, wash it, vaccum it and dress the interior. By the time I am done, I've observe most of surface area of the vehicle and I usually have a small list for the dealership to fix when I bring the vehicle back. If I don't get the vehicle, the dealership has a very clean vehicle. Believe when I say this list has gotten smaller over the years due to GM's committment to quality. Manufacturer's are more strict on warranty claims and it is important to bring any imperfection to the attention of the service department to ensure the problem gets taken care of or it doesn't grow into a bigger problem.
I am not sure why you feel the need to be rude because I expect a new vehicle to be "right" when I purchase it. The dealer seems to agree the radio being installed crooked is enough of a problem they are willing to come pick up my H3 to fix it. Appparently they feel the need for a H3 to be right is important too. I like my H3 allot, I researched it allot before I purchased it. I recommend it, I even recommend it more now that the dealer is taking care of it. My previous experence with a GM product ended in a car that spent 5 months in a garage while they fixed various engine issues. It took a law suite to have them fix the car right, which it never was. GM has come along way with their service, just a shame it took them loosing so much of their market share to realize the custumer's opinion does matter. Best part about it, I have a life and my H3 fixed right. But thanks for your concern
Since these are non existent on the H3 and GM apparently does not care, does anyone know if this can be done aftermarket by a mechanic? If not I may have a H3 for sale real soon.
Jim We are out of GMID for this month. Get 4 more next week but have 3 of them spoke for already (if they don't find them elsewhere). To email me click on my name (bosshoss1) in title line to view my profile and it has my email listed there. Not suppose to post emails in main message body. Let me know Paul Francis
I have a possible solution to your problem if you have auto trans. The door locks on the H3 are programmable (see owners manual) You want to have them in default,(check the other modes you may prefer another but the most important feature is that all doors lock when the truck is put in gear) all doors will lock and cannot be opened using the inside door handle when the truck is moved out of park. The doors unlock when the truck is put back in park, one of the modes may open only the drivers door also check that. However if you pull the manual lock release lever it will work and unlock the door and the door will open if the door lever is pulled. My solution is to disable the manual lock release lever in the rear doors...take off (or have the dealer or body shop) the rear door panels and disconnect the pin or linkage that connects the manually operated door lock release lever to the actuator or linkage. Doing this will at least give you the peace of mind that the children cannot open the back doors while the truck is not in park or you have relocked the doors using the power door lock button when parked.
I would like to purchase an H3 tomorrow. I know that it is really short notice, but does anyone have one left? I know that it is the only way that I am going to get a good price from the dealer. I would really really appreciate it!

I agree I only put them on the front and the truck stays very clean. Before the guards the entire side of the truck was covered with dirt kicked up by the front tires.
Hi everyone! First of all, I know I should be posting this questions under the lease forum, but I don't seem to be getting any answers there. I am having a lot of difficulty dealing with my local Hummer dealer. They just don't want to budge or negotiate on the price. They told me that with nothing but first payment and acquisition fee down, my payment would not be over $500 a month with tax (7%). The hummer that I am trying to get has a msrp of $37,310, GMID price of $34,131, and an invoice of $33,304. The lease they are proposing is a 36 month with 12K miles/year lease. It just seems that the numbers don't match up with the deals I read on this forum. I now have a GMID certificate #, so if I can purchase this vehicle for that price, what should my payments be? Does anyone know what the residual and interest rate (money factor) are on the H3 right now? Also, in the msrp and gmid prices are a $565 destination charge. Should I try to negotiate not paying that? Is anyone actually negotiating down to invoice? Sorry this is so wordy. I really need someones help as I am trying to work out a deal by the end of the month (tomorrow)! Thanks in advance!
Thanks. That is what a couple of mechanics said. GM says that the auto locks are safe, obviously they did not put a 2 year old in the seats or they would see how easy it is for them to flip the lock. I have been told that this will void the warranty but I would rather my child be alive. Thanks for the input.
HI THERE EVERYONE. I'M NEW TO THIS SITE SO I HOPE THIS MESSAGE POSTS WITH NO PROBLEMS. I AM WONDERING HOW THE GMID CERTIFICATE WORKS. I CURRENTLY HAVE AN 03 CHEVROLET, AND WOULD LIKE TO TRADE THAT IN MARCH FOR THE H3. COULD I USE A GMID CERTIFICATE, OR IS IT FOR CUSTOMERS WHO ARE NEW GM BUYERS? ANY HELP HERE WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED. THANKS.
With your GMID e-mail you received a link to a special version of GM Buypower. http://gmbuypower.com/app/linksin?destination=homepage&GMSUPPLR=true&partnerId=5- 10023 Go there find your dealer and pull up the exact vehicle you are looking at. Pull up the window sticker on screen then click on shopping tools and go to GMAC financing, the vehicle will be there with the GMID price and you can alter down payment term etc. You will not be able to negotiate the destination charge.
This will not void your warranty..LOL..if you get a strict dealer maybe they won't honor the warranty on a three dollar lever, rod and pin...Anyway should't a 2 year old be in a car seat?
We had major site access and posting issues starting last Thursday; that's probably the reason you didn't get a response over in the leasing discussion.
Some people disagree, but usually the destination charge isn't negotiable.
If you focus on the out the door price, you don't have to worry about the line items like destination. Good luck!
I SPOKE WITH AN EMPLOYEE OF CHEVROLET, AND HE STATED THAT GM IS OFFERING A 10 TO 15% DISCOUNT ON ALL GM PRODUCTS. I KNOW THAT CHEVROLET CURRENTLY HAS DISCOUNTS ON ALL THEIR PRODUCTS, BUT HAVE NEVER HEARD THE ONE FOR ALL GM PRODUCTS. HE SEEMS TO THINK THAT THIS WOULD APPLY TO THE HUMMER H3. I ASKED HIM HOW LONG THIS DISCOUNT IS GOOD FOR, AND HE STATED ALL YEAR. DOES ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW ABOUT THIS, AND IF THIS IS SO? THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP.
I picked up my H3 on December 8, 2005, the day before our first real snowfall.( Black, Morocco, Sun Roof, XM, auto , Luxury, Chrome, Side Rails, Side Airbags, Off-Road , Mud Flaps )It rides truly nice and handles excellently. Mileage is now 2100. Have had no problems with the H3. No squeaks, rattles or loose fittings. Guess we really got a good one! Did have an installation problem with the "dealer". After I had the H3 for about 2 weeks I noticed a noise while driving home from a trip on the interstate. Came home and while washing the H3 found that the dealer had never tightened the bolts that hold the side rails. They must have just hand tightened them and forgot to finish the job. The sound was from the vibration of the passenger rail while driving at 65-70 mph.The bolts were working their way loose. I went under and tightened the bolts, called the dealer to report the incident. It could have been worse if any of the bolts would have left go at that speed. Aside from that the H3 is just the GREATEST!!!!!!!!!!! I have had more people come up just to see it, especially little kids with their parents. By the way, it handled the snow effortlessly. Never had another chance for snow driving because all we've had is rain. Used GMID for a great discount. Thanks Rich.
Was going to be looking into possibly buying an H3 sometime in Feb and of course looking for the best price I can get. I would like to know a little bit more about this GMID # and how it works. If you have the time, please let me know what I need to do to get one... Thank you very much. John oh2benfla@aol.com

GMS is GM employee price. Biggest discount but only to employees and family. GMID is GM in the driveway. It's discount is the same as Supplier pricing. The discounts vary from model to model. Invoice is usually between GMS and GMID price. GMID price if fixed dealers can't fudge on this price.( or are not suppose to ) Dealer can add on prep and doc fees but none around here do it, I think this is BS and would not pay these fees unless they were minor($25 - $50) Ask dealer to show you the invoice it has GMS and GMID price on it. Since price is set they have nothing to hide. GMS to family only. GMID to everyone else. Wife and I both work at GM we get 2 each. I have several freinds at work that I am trying to get set up and hopefully between our 4 and theirs we can offer 10 or more a month. Dealer DO NOT have to accept GMID or GMS. Dealers around here are not for most part accepting GMID or GMS on hot items like Solstice or Z06 Corvette, hard to get cars.( Some dealers will for very, very good customers) GMID on H3's runs about 9 or 10% off sticker. (this is a rough reference only- MSRP $37000 GMID discount approx. $3700 Your price $33300 this may be off a little but will get you in ball park) Hope this helps. Let me know if any more questions. I am planning to purchase the vehicle this week, so if you have a certificate available for this month that would be great.
Marc
I am purchasing this week. The dealer mentioned the only discount would be with a certificate. I could use the one for this month.
