Hi again everyone. I was reading message #764, and noticed that it said you can use the GMID certificate if you replace a non-GM product, or buy a GM product that would be alongside a non-GM product. I also have an 02 Chrysler. Would this qualify me to use a GMID if I traded in my 03 Chevrolet and kept the 02 Chrysler? Please respond.

    Thank You!

We've put over 3,000 miles on our H3 including a 1500 mile trip and have had absolutely no problems. Its amazingly quiet and smooth on the highway and an absolute mountain goat on the trail. Around town, it handles like a sports sedan. Just thought I'd post that bit to break all the GMID monotony. I'm still shocked that I bought a GM vehcle and more shocked that I like it so much.

I am going to add some performance products to my new hummer (exhaust, air filter, throttle body spacer,). Has anyone done any of these items and what was the results?

Is there a way to remove the tether on the H3's gas cap without cutting it off?
  • cz3cqgcz3cqg Member Posts: 25
The GMID program is for ANYBODY that is not a GM employee or a GM Supplier employee regardless of any type of vehicle you own. I believe you are referring to the Gm Ambassador Program Gm has going for it's employees which allows the employee to receive 100 dollars towards a vehicle purchase if their certificate is used in a purchase and the purchaser sends the required information prior to buying [to the employee]. See my profile for a email address where you can request a certificate or when you browse thru this thread, you will encounter other GM employees willing to help.

It sounds great that the vehicle is performing well and maybe the GM employees from Shreveport who proudly manufacture this SUV can spread the word and get more employees involved in issuing GMID certificates to our future friends.

Paul, im new to this and somewhat confused. im looking to purchase a H3 within the next 30 days. im reading about this GMI and GMID what confuses me is... as far as GMID discount. I have gone into dealerships and have negotiated to approx. 10% below MSRP without any certificates. I will not buy unless i do, i will NEVER pay MSRP. I have 3 new cars(03-05) and interested in trading 1 for the H3. so what is benefit of having GMID when going into dealerships? am i missing something? thank you for you help joe
  • jinx2898jinx2898 Member Posts: 4
I have located dealer through GM site, followed your info on locating GMID price and when i chose to finance I only see MSRP price why dont i see GMID price? thanks
  • marblezmarblez Member Posts: 32
The MSRP will be at the top but in the 3 boxes below I for finance, lease and smart buy the GMID price will be displayed and used in the calculations.

On your other question depending on where you live I really don't think you will negotiate the H3 price as much as some other vehicles. In NJ the dealers are MSRP and in Pa some are giving $500 off. I think the GMID is a good price on this particular vehicle, and there is no negotiation. The same holds true of base Corvettes all dealers are at MSRP but you can get a great discount with the GMID. Also in my opinion the dealer would rather take a GMID than negotiate down to the GMID price as he does get additional compensation from GM for taking the GMID. Check Edmunds TMV pricing.

Thank you very much last question.
would i be able to order my H3 the way i want it and then give GMID to dealer? or is it only for "in stock" vehicles? if so, does the same 10% dis(using GMID). apply to ordered H3's as well? again thank you
  • marblezmarblez Member Posts: 32
Yes you can order one. I was going to do that and the dealer had no problem with it but he found one just like I would order at another dealer. He picked that one up and then delivered it to my driveway. I would of course tell the dealer you are using a GMID when you order it.
  • dmathews3dmathews3 Member Posts: 1,739
yes by all means tell the dealer you are using it as some dealers won't except them.
  • wethers23wethers23 Member Posts: 7
This is the same set-up of options I am looking for. Do you mind if I ask how much you ended up paying with the GMID discount? Our local dealer did not even know what the GMID discount was, so I want to make sure I am getting the best deal. Thanks!
  • marblezmarblez Member Posts: 32
Read my post #808 in this topic. You can find the vehicle that you are interested in and the GMID (supplier)price will be there. If you have to order the truck the supplier price will be on the invoice when it comes in.
  • scalpelbladescalpelblade Member Posts: 7
So am I correct to assume that the GMID(supplier price) that isposted is the amount one will pay ie sale price? So the benefit is pretty much a no haggle deal with GMID? Does anyone believe that in October (when new year comes out) one could get a better deal on the 06's , even with GMID? Thanks in advance
  • ksolesksoles Member Posts: 19
My understanding of the GMID from what I've read here as well as other sites is that the GMID price is approx 1% lower than invoice and that is why some Dealers do not like to or will not accept the GMID even through they get reimbursed for that vehicle. I used NADA and KBB's vehicle builder (sorry Edmunds, you guys are missing options in yours) and each one of them came up with the same price details of the H3 I working on, $38,115 MSRP and $34,424 Invoice.

But after getting my GMID, logging into the supplier site, locating the H3 we are working on, it shows the GMID/Supplier price is $34,874.47, but that is actually $450.47 higher than invoice? Is the GMID not always less than invoice?? Understanding GMID is usually approx 1% under invoice (or am I wrong?) wouldn't/shouldn't the GMID price of this H3 be more closer to approx $34,079.76 Vs actually being higher than the invoice of $34,424?
  • akushakush Member Posts: 6
the 2 year old is in the car seat and can still open the lock on the door. per gm the warranty will be voided. pretty funny, huh? wow...
  • dmathews3dmathews3 Member Posts: 1,739
As a GM retired I have found that in all my purchases the GM Employee price is just under invoice and that is most likely what you are finding.
  • ksolesksoles Member Posts: 19
I think you might have skipped over something in my details, the GMID price for this one is actually HIGHER then invoice!

"$38,115 MSRP and $34,424 Invoice. But the GMID price says $34,874.47, that is actually $450.47 higher than invoice? Using the understanding that GMID is always less than invoice and also understanding it is approx 1% under invoice wouldn't it more closer to approx $34,079.76 Vs actually being higher than the trucks invoice?"
  • dmathews3dmathews3 Member Posts: 1,739
You are right. I said GM EMPLOYEE price not SUPPLIER price is just under invoice. Supplier price is above invoice and with most vehicles you can haggle a better price then GMID but when the H3's are selling for invoice GMID becomes a hot item.
  • marblezmarblez Member Posts: 32
I do not wish to argue with you but whatever idiot told you that the warranty will be voided was wrong. The dealer or mfg can refuse to honor a warranty claim on an altered vehicle IF it can be proven that the alteration caused the failure. For example if you disable your door lock levers and for some unknown reason this causes a power lock motor or door handle to malfunction yes the dealer can refuse to honor a warranty claim on that motor or handle and charge you for repairs. Not void the entire vehicle warranty. You may want to read this Magnuson-Moss Warranty - Federal Trade Commission Improvement Act of 1975. This being said I would disconnect the lock levers and be done with it.
  • mannytrannymannytranny Member Posts: 175
With the GMID the price was down to $35,565.

Hi all ....still LOVE LOVE LOVE my H3 but having some more problems. Message showing traction control failed service 4WD. Brought it in to dealer and the message disapears.... theyfind no problem. Pick it up and head home ...and the message comes on again!!! bringing it back today..... I was told that if you hit a bump or pothole it can make certain messages come on. The first time it was service tire pressure monitor. The second time it was the "doors" message which WAS fixed promptly. Anyone else having these problems?? Once again I DO LOVE MY H3!!! :) even with all of this going on.

    Tracy :confuse:
  • akushakush Member Posts: 6
thanks, did not mean to sound argumentative just frustrated. dealership has accepted responsibility and would rather buy back vehicle rather than disable one of the locks. which sounds ridiculous because there is no difference between this and a child safety lock. not sure what we are going to do. thank you for the hlep. :)

Has anyone heard if the 2007 HUMMER H3 can use E-85 fuel.

if i buy h3 in califonia, can i buy invoce price?

why? why not? i really want to know that.
  • 10regular10regular Member Posts: 4
Well, I have done all my research on the H3 and am ready to buy and I just heard of two people who are getting poor mpg-overall 13-15 mpg. If you have any feed back for me please let me know in a reply--Thanks
  • marblezmarblez Member Posts: 32
My H3 is automatic, on long freeway trips keeping up with traffic flow that is running from 70-80+ I get 18mpg.

I live in a hilly rural area, most roads are 45-55mph some local roads are 35mph, village speed is 25mph, private community speed 15mph. With about 60% interstate use (short trips town to town) and 40% back roads I get 15-16mpg.

I bought the custom Hummer H3 Sunshield from xccessory.com.

If you install the shield completely against the windscreen so that the bottom edge of the product slips into the gap between the windscreen and the dashboard (as one would expect), the edge of the product adheres to the dashboard. I was stunned to find that I could not easily remove the sunshield. I had to tear it out of position while it left pieces of the felt edge behind in the gap. Not what you would like to experience in a brand new car.

Please help me to find the best lease deal in New Jersey. People in Florham Park are giving me some outlandish lease numbers for H3 with luxury, chrome package on it.

    Negotiated price is $33K
36 month lease is $588.00 per month. Ridiculous!
  • marblezmarblez Member Posts: 32
Well I guess you aren't really paying 33K. A H3 with list of 36415 and selling price of 33426 (assuming you have a GMID but shouldn't make a diff if you can buiy it for 33k)should lease for 455 +tax for 36mo 0 down 15K per year. I tried the NJ dealers purchased in Pa. If you like contact me and I can give you my guys info, not supposed to post salesmans names on here.

    Hi all,

Can someone please tell me what typical maintenance cost I should expect for H3? Is there a place where I can see the maintenance schedule for H3?

    thanks in advance,

    cheers
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
The Edmunds Maintenance Guide keeps track of this stuff but it looks like '06 info on recommended services to be performed will be added soon. Recall and TSB info looks current.

    humbud,

If you are 100% serious about getting one and you are ready buy a H3 (not a maybe, or have been thinking about one, have to check with husband/wife if allowed to, etc etc.)If so I can help you get one, what is your email address?

But since GM employees are limited to how many they can issue out please make sure you are 100% serious and ready to buy, just wouldnt want the GMID issued and end up not being used or going to waste!

I just bought a new H3 and really like it. I am especially pleased with the overall quality and solid feel. We have an Envoy and the quality of the Hummer is far better. I am little ticked about one thing though. I have a Lux model with the chrome package. The brochure that I was given prior to purchasing said that the roof rack cross bows were included with the crome package. When I picked it up-no roof bows. They said that that was discontinued and the brochures were out of date. I wasn't going to let it be a deal breaker but it wasn't the best expierience. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks

I was wondering if you think this lease sounds good? I get GM Employee discount. I am looking at terminating my lease. I have eight payments left on my current lease. GM is forgiving four. I have four lease payments left of $1541.44. I have two discounts totaling $1,000 for auto shows. I have $960 to use from my GM Card. This is the info from the dealer:

    MSRP: $39,530.00
    Employee Price: $34,525.18
Residual percentage is 24 month 72% and 27 month 71%. The leae factor is 5.75.
    9% sales tax.

    24 month/15K miles = $461.24
    27 month/15k miles = $439.79

I was told the DVD system actually costs $299. These prices do not include DVD. Also, there is mo money out of pocket.

    Thanks.
  • marblezmarblez Member Posts: 32
Yes that lease sounds on the money. From what I see the dealer is rolling over the 1541 and first months pmt and acquisition fee into the lease. Then applying your discounts and GM earnings. I just don't understand the difference from the 24 to 27 month lease it shouldn't be that much but if it is go with the 27. Check close on the 27mo it may be one of those ridiculous 10K a year leases GM is offering.
  • saberdsaberd Member Posts: 5
Thanks. I am paying first month, license, registration, etc. when I pick it up but I'm not putting any money down. I agree about the difference in the payments. I really want 24 but I might go for 27. Does a person's credit rating have anything to do with the money factor involved?
  • marblezmarblez Member Posts: 32
Yes but GMAC is pretty liberal, especially if you have leased from them before. Your money factor is the going rate right now for creditworthy customers.
  • scalpelbladescalpelblade Member Posts: 7
Found an H3 I really want. The MSRP is 33,955.00. I found out the Standard GM supplier discount price ie GMID is 30,724. I guess my question is..is 30,724 the lowest price they offer without losing their incentives. I would like to get into this H3 for 28k. Do u think that is asking too much?? Thanks.
  • dvcdondvcdon Member Posts: 7
I ordered an H3 on 2/18/06 and was told the wait would be approx. 8 weeks. :D Is it too late to try and get a GMID to lower the sting a bit? If not, anyone got one I could apply? Thanks in advance.
  • insureit1insureit1 Member Posts: 2
Paul, thanks again for the GMID. I just picked up my black/ebony H3 today. It was by far the easiest new car purchase I have made. No hassle what so ever. Capital Hummer in Maryland was great. Sales rep spent over 2 hrs with me going over every feature. Details
MSRP $41200 with the following options
    Lux
    auto trans
    factory Nav
    chrome app.
    chrome side steps
    chrome roof cross bars
    chrome fuel door
    chrome wheels
    towing pkg
    xm radio
    $299 Dual DVD

GMID approx $37300 + tax, tags

24 month 10k miles per year lease $561 per month with not one penny out of my pocket. I could have put money down but decided to just sign and drive.
75% residual don't have exact MF but factory MF 5.75% approx int. rate. Security deposit was waived.

Maybe not the best deal but with no haggle, no hassle GMID, no money out of pocket and a great dealer experience I am pleased. Thanks again to Paul (bosshoss1)

Just bought new H3 last week at Capitol Hummer in MD. Great people - love my new car but having trouble seeing out the rear and side windows. Any suggestions?
  • akushakush Member Posts: 6
Just an update...I had to return the H3 and turned around and got an H2. If you live in or around MD buy from ANDERSON HUMMER! Go see Jeff and tell him I sent you. I miss my H3 but love my H2.

I kept hearing a strange noise which seemed to be coming from the rear of the Hummer. I just had the H3 for about a week and a half. I always came home from work late and usually forgot about it. I was going on a short trip on I 78 and really heard it louder than before. My passenger said that it sounded like wind was rushing around under the Hummer. I was traveling about 65-75 mph on the trip. When I got home it was time to wash it up. We had a very mild day so I washed it in my driveway. That's when I noticed that the Chrome side rail on the passenger side was loose,. in fact very loose. I could move it up and down easily. Crawled under and discovered that the bolts were almost out. At high speed, the rail must have vibrated and that's the sound that I was hearing.
Apparently when the side rails were installed someone never finished the job on the passenger side and only hand tightened the bolts. I also found that one of the bolts on the driver's side was stripped and couldn't go in any farther than 3/8 inch. I called the dealer to let them know about the problem and really was upset when I thought about if this would have let loose at 70mph what really could have happened. I told the dealer I tightened the bolts and they said that they would check everything when I came for service. The service manager apologized and offered a free oil change.
