As I always say, "I hope the thrill last as long as the car payment"
Previously owned a 2000 Infiniti i30T, so there are areas where I will get to compare and see what 5 years and different OEMs bring to the table.
I like the handling so far, I gained 1" in footprint ( 7" to 8" wide tires). I went from 227 to 270HP, same 3.5....blah..blah..blah...
I like the "SportShift" alot.... and the "Style"...my first "White" car......
Glad you are all here to share your thoughts, information and points of view.
What a country.......
See yaa soon.....

Could you please let me know what you found out about the 0% financing in Fla and if so which dealer you have been talking to.Thanks very much.
On the Beacon Score, I think I was told 720 or higher to qualify.
IOW, you'll pay, one way or the other....

Post Christmas, I shopped both Clair in Walpole and Acura of Boston. Good experience, both were willing to sell me a non-nav auto TL at invoice (invoice incl. advertising fee). I ended up buying at A of B ($30,650 which I believe at the time was invoice plus we split the $200 ad fee) as, after some negotiation, they offered me a better trade on my Chrysler 300M. I really wanted to buy at Clair as that's where I did most of my DD, but the trade $ was significant (to me). At the time, Honda finance was offering 2.9% for up to 60 months which I took advantage of (48 months).
I haven't been in for service yet. A of B "doc fee" is about twice Clairs, but it includes "free" lifetime state inspections. Free, of couse, simply means I prepaid for the $29 tax...!
Keep us posted on your purchase process. Great car.

He's charging about $900.00 just for the acessories. Also, I'm told by them that all the dealers purchase at invoice price and nobody ever gets a discount or holdback. According to Consumer Reports, Acura is giving a $1K holdback to all dealers in my neighborhood. The treatment I received when I went there was definitely excellent but their prices definitely don't seem to be..
If he'd at least offer me what Davis is (exclusing accessories) add on a few hundred, I'd probably buy it from him, but given that I can save a good $1.4K * tax * APR from Davis, I just cant let it go even if it means the pains of ordering it from another state. Those of you who have ordered your TLs from out of state dealers, I have a few questions for you:
1. Approximately how much would shipping the car cost?
2. What are the cons? I guess the pro is basically the price.
3. I'm hoping to finance it for 5 years and if possible, grab the memorial day offer for 3.9%. Will purchasing it from another state affect this in any way?
4. How do the taxes and registration costs apply when you make an out of state purchase of a car?
Thanks in advance for any input.
Is torque steer really a problem as they mention in these reviews??. I am not a race driver!!!! I am looking for a luxury front wheel drive as it snows for 3 months in chicago.
any suggestions???
TL is good in the snow IF you don't have the OEM Bridgestones. I bought snow tires here in Cleveland and it definitely helped.
Read back through this board. My recollection is Acura of Libertyville seems to be the most competitive.
$31,250 inlcluding protection package
$399 doc fee (all dealers here are pushing this)
Does this sound good or bad?
I second aaaargh's comment on the OEM Bridgestone EL42 tires in snow: VERY POOR, PROCEED WITH CAUTION!
Anybody here Zaino? Advice?

For the number gurus, I guess you guys can figure out what the actual cap cost on the car was.
I was pretty happy with this deal-had to work dealers for this price a lot-I was originally quoted in the mid fives about a month ago.
Also-for those interested I have successfully gotten the bluetooth operational (caller-ID and dialing) with a Windows based PDA Phone (XV-6600)-best of luck with that!
Getting an auto w/Nav for less may be difficult since they are in short supply. I got a similar quote from Continental, Rizza and Woodfield (all within a couple of hundred $).
Libertyville was several hundred less ($32,600) but didn't have my color (they had lots of SSM/Quartz or Anthracite/Ebony). Morton Grove was a few hundred less but a much longer drive ($32,800).
I strongly suggest contacting the Internet Salesperson at Libertyville, Naplteon, & Continental. They were all excellent to deal with and responsive. No B/S to deal with supporting the theory that there are honest car salespeople.
Unfortunatley, part of my experience supported the opposite theory. I would avoid McGrath in Westmont. I echo the comments made on previous posts. They will claim to match your best deal, but they won't do it when its gets down to negotiating. Don't waste your time.
We just came back from what was the worst buying experience I've ever encountered. We drove a TL overnight from Acura of Columbus. We returned today to talk numbers. Based on what I've seen in this forum, I wasn't going to pay anything more than invoice ($30,500 was my target). We started off with something lower than that and were flatly told by the salesman that they would not sell a car "under invoice" because they wouldn't make any money. I then informed him that I knew the car didn't cost hiim $30,750 (his claimed invoce + dest). He bluntly replied that it did. I indicated that he was also making money on the financing, since we would finance through American Honda.. He discounted that statement as not applicable to their bottom line. We asked what they would sell it for, and he replied $500 over invoice ($31,250). I said we'd give him invoice and he yelled at us and said they weren't going to sell the car at that price, but he'd ask the sales manager, who happened to be sitting at another table working a deal, who (without getting up) yelled over to us that there was no way they were going to sell the car for invoice. The salesmen then walked away!
Long story short - I don't mind if they didn't want to sell us the car for $30,500. But to be treated that way, and in front of other customers is unexcusable. We won't ever be going back. I suggest for those who might visit the columbus dealers to be forewarned about Acura of Columbus.
Is there any way to provide feedback to Acura USA about our experience?
- Sale price: $30,197.00 (incl. destination fee)
- Tax: $2192.XX
- Doc: $45.00
- Lic. fees: $265.75
- Financed for 1.9% for 36 months.
took me 3 minutes to program the bluetooth and hands free link and its amazing, the stereo is great also, going from a BMW 540i with 312 lbs/feet of torque to 238 lbs/ft of torque was hard but the BMW was not as high tech as the TL and is painfully costly to maintain.
Just love this car, amazing overall.

I am in SoCal. Could you tell me at what dealership you got your TL?
THX!
What are the cons of buying from out of local area dealership? I am in MA but willing to travel and buy from dealers in NY/NJ since I've seen postings on this forum from members getting very good deals in that area.
But somewhat apprehensive because what if you have to go back to a dealership?
Or shall I just stay local?
Appreciate any comments and advice on my dilemma.
I got my TL from Glendale Acura. I negotiated the price with the Internet & Fleet manager on-line and scheduled an appointment with her to drive in and choose the color. It was very professional and cordial.
Thank you very much! Sounds to me you got a good deal. I walked in Acura at Escondido yesterday. I looked for a TL w/ Navi, the negotiation started from $2500 (protection package incl.) above invoice and then $1800 (I still need to pay $300 for the protection package). I insisted that it is way beyond my expectation. After one more round of bargaining, the price was still $600 higher than yours (plus $2000 for the navi) but the talk became more difficult. I asked to leave. I did feel that there is a lit bit more room to bring the price down further.
Again, thank you very much and enjoy your new TL. I'll go back to dealer again next week.
BTW, 1.9%/36 mo. financial offer expired yesterday in San Diego area.

I’m in the process of considering the purchase of a 05 TL. Best prices in my area are $31.5k no navigation and $33.5k with the navigation. Both of those prices include the protection package. I have a 99 300m, with very low mileage, the best the dealer will do is $9k on the trade. I also tried to sell the 300m and got an offer of $12.5k.
I would really appreciate your suggestions, should I go for the TL or not? Part of me feels although the 300m has very low mileage, it is still a 7 year old car. My other thought is keep the 300m; it still has a lot of life. Again, your comments are appreciated, and be kind!
Thanks again!
Just a thought, based on my neighbor buying a Honda, last week, too, that there seems to be a trend, that cars are being sold for under invoice, now. I know the car dealers need to and are still making money, but it is making me feel less comfortable, about the "Invoice" price now. Smoke & Mirrors?
I don't think you have to travel very far to get a good deal on a TL. It seems to me the Boston (forgive the assumption you're from eastern MA) market is very competitive. I bought at the beginning of the year, invoice pricing from both Clair in Walpole and Acura of Boston in Brighton, buying from A of B due to higher trade-in on my 300M.
Canuck44: 30,700 is a good deal. Although $500 for "paint sealant" would have been much better spent elsewhere (say ~$80 for Zaino system)... Even so, good deal. Congrats and enjoy your TL!

The price paid by tmp0404 in post #3522 is in line with what was offered at Acura of Larchmont in Westchester. According to them they move twice as cars as their closet competitor Curry.
Because of that volume I think, it allows them to be very competitive on price. Definitely include them on your short list if buying an Acura in the Westchester area in NY. I took the time to visit the dealership rather than calling on the phone. The buying experience(price, transaction, professionalism of staff, etc) was worthy of mention here.
