in need of any/all help /info on van conversions.

i am a 1st time (wannabe) buyer of a van conversion...i cannot afford to buy new
(& would like to take advantage of the
depreciation rate anyways)but as so many others ive have come to find out how difficult finding any ref. publications on values of van convs.can be.....
i'm lookin @ a 1999 ford e150 STARCRAFT conversion being sold by a private party...asking price is $8500....having only the knowledge ive acquired from having searched the ads in my area...it seems to be a decent price ,i guess what im asking is there anything about that particular model that would it a not so good deal?
so any input is appreciated.i welcome all opinions and value any bad experiences others may have had with the ford e150(1999)and/or starcraft conversions.

I am interested in buying a 2-year old Ford F150. I have been looking at the 2003 models, and find the pricing OK. However, what I am trying to determine is - will the sales prices of 2003 models drop once we enter 2006 - when these cars officially become 3-year old cars? I realize car prices wont drop $2000 between Dec 31 and Jan 1... but how do I calcuate the fair price to pay? If I were selling my car certainly the dealer would say it's a 3-year old car...

The calendar year really means nothing, as far as re-sale values go... Cars depreciate every month.... If you are looking for a fair price on a certain car, then post the details here:

I'm about ready to sign a lease with Porsche Financial on a Cayman but I wanted to make sure I'm not making a mistake on pricing. The car books out over $70K but they use an MRM of $69.5K and a residual of 55% for a 36 month lease and 10K miles/year. The money factor seems way too high at .00345 for Tier 1 credit.

I researched independent leasing programs through leasewizard.com. Their best deal has a money factor of .0024 but the residual is 51% for 36 months and 12K miles/year, and it pencils out within a few dollars of the Porsche program. Am I making a mistake to stay with the Porsche program? The finance manager at the dealership claims her deal is as good as the independents.

I can't speak specifically to Porsche money factors, but in general, they are very high..

A lot of this depends on what you plan to do with the car at lease end... If you are pretty sure you are going to buy the car, then you should definitely go with the lease with the lower residual, assuming the monthly payment is nearly the same..

The thing is... All car dealers have access to the independent bank leases.. Most F&I managers have a program that searches all of the banks for the best deal..

If you are a BMW or Audi dealer, you probably don't need to do that, as no one can touch their lease programs... But, if you are a Jaguar, Volvo, Porsche dealer, then many times the independents have a better deal. It makes me wonder about that finance manager...

I would ask her to check the independent banks.. It is hard to believe that she doesn't have access to them... If she does, she should be able to get a better deal from them than you can.. She may just be lazy..

If you want to ask Car_man about the actual PFS money factor, post a question in the Porsche Boxster: Lease Questions discussion, and he will get you an answer.. Just be sure to note that it is a Cayman, not a Boxster..

We could set up two different discussions about leases for these two cars, but I don't think there are enough members interested in them to get much of a response..

Probably, you should post here: Rebates, Incentives, APRs.

Car_man visits that discussion regularly, and he knows the details of the various lease programs.. Be sure to tell him the term and mileage you are interested in, and whether the Porsche is a Tiptronic..

He should be able to tell you which car has the better lease program..

Specifically, interest rate/money factor, not sure what Ford uses. The residual value for 12K & 15K per year. MSRP of the base vehicle is $29,660. I think Lincoln has $1000 customer cash back that is used as a cap cost reduction. Is the acquisition fee waived or rolled into the payment? Thanks.

I am looking for a sport or comfort car on a $0 down and up to $375 mo. payments for 24 - 36 months with top tier credit. I have found a Murano but not knowing what secret dealer deals there may be out there, I am not sure where else to look. I could go with a $4,000 - $5000 down with low payments. A couple of dealers just gave me a blank stare when I told them about the Nissan deal and did not know what they have to compare. Any hints on other makes to check out?

Hello! I have looked around on this site for a Crown Victoria, what would be a decent MSRP for a `06 crown victoria and a decent monthly payment? I am new to leases and thus am not quite sure what to expect..
