I test drove one of these the other day. Wondering about the residual value and money factor based on a 3 yr / 36K mile lease and a 4 yr / 48k mile lease in Texas.

I'm in the market to lease 2 vehicles and I have narrowed it down to a couple of choices.

My main question is this, given that I am making the deal for a lease on 2 vehicles will my bargaining position be better or worse.

Does it help me to do 2, or should I try to get the best deal on 2 different transactions?

    Thanks,
    Jerry

Hello I am looking to see if anyone has the current Residual Factors or current leasing info for a 2007 Explorer Sport Trac Limited model. Looking for 24 and 36 month info. This would be for the Houston Texas area.

    Thank You

    Hi, dram2..

I suggest posting your leasing question about the Explorer Sport Trac in the Explorer leasing topic. I know they are two different vehicles, but Car_man will know the difference.. :)

It seems as if there is currrently no major place to go to find the current lease offers online. At least not without a lot of searching and clicking through dozens of windows for information.

There used to be an automated bot on Edmunds that allowed you to search for lease deals, but there really needs to be a basic list.

For instance, Subaru is offering $170/169 On a 36/42 month lease on the Impreza. ($179 for the wagon) - but it's just not on the Edmunds page. VWs current items aren't either - and while some of the data is there(Edmunds), you have to click on each car and then the specific type. It's horribly cumbersome.

I just want to be able to scan and see which maker is currently offering the lowest leases without driving myself crazy.

If you can't add a new section, at least maybe a current hot deals topic here would be possible?

Except... it's been 5 weeks since I last posted there. I know about it and it's just not working. We need something with major visibility and updated lists.

Better yet would be all of the current Edmunds lease data on one page.
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 265,440
Edmunds has this, which gives an alphabetical list of all car makes with special lease deals.

CarSpace forums are member generated material. Other than the individual Lease Questions boards for each make, which is staffed by Car_man, we don't have anyone that creates material. So.. a discussion board is all we can do here. If you know of a good lease deal, post it in that discussion. The more active the discussion, the more other members will post there.

If you have a suggestion for the Edmunds.com portion of the website, they have a link for "Help" and "Contact Us" at the bottom of each page.

Yes, but have you personally tried to use it?

You have to select the maker or the car, THEN select the trim to get a window that shows the data. For every car.

I timed it - to see all of the cars data took me over 20 minutes of clicking windows and I have a 5meg/sec connection here, so it's not on my end. Hundreds of little windows and so on - back and forth.

And, the data is easily a month out of date. Subaru's current deals? Nope - not there. The $299 a month lease on the CTS? It's still going - they gave it another month or two. This is a big difference from a couple of eyars ago where you have a nice java-driven app that you could search and put data into to check for the latest deals.

Now it's all word of mouth on the various forums. All of this technology and I'm still having to go to every manufacturer's website to find the real data.

    Yes.. I understand and empathize..

But, even though we're connected, over here in the forums, we have nothing to do with the main Edmunds site.

Word of mouth is what we are all about.. ;)

Has anyone ever traded a lease? There are several web sites that will help you take over someones lease prior lease end (Swapalease, leasetrader).

For example, Joe has a 07 car with a lease payment of $350/m with only 6K miles. So I would take over his lease payment and have 30K miles left to use over the next 26 months. At the end of the 26 months I turn it in. In some cases the current leasor will give a cash incentive to take over the lease. If you look hard enough you can find people who put money down for lower lease payment, OR if they got in on a manufacture incentive deal. So in some cases you can get a very good lease payment. In other cases people got ripped off and are paying more for a lease then they should or the lease is already out of miles. It sounds like a way to save money, it your carefull. But I am concerned that it may be too good to be true.

    HELP!

Hello, I don't know if this is exactly where I should place this post. In the past I've always let the car dealer secure financing for my leased vehicles through the various car financial companies (GMAC, Ford Motor Credit). Well this time around I'd like to get my own financing for my leased vehicle. Do you have any suggestions on any good independent car leasing companies that I could use? Thanks.

If you are in a discussion, go to the top of the page, and click on the general category link that is just in front of the discussion title.

    It looks like this:

You are here: Forums Prices Paid: Buying & Leasing Experiences Don't see the make/model you are looking for? Request it here.

You would click on the underlined link to get to the discussion group. From there, you will find the Add Discussion link.

Hi, our 05 Murano lease is up in May and we're beginning to look for our next car. We live in Upstate NY, and we'd be looking at AWD, "fairly" loaded vehicles (ie..don't need Nav or entertainment systems). We are looking at a number of cars, but want to start by know where the best lease deals are....and I'm pretty sure you'd say the most important things to consider are MF, residual and NetLease (negotiated sell price). I know a lot can affect this, but of the following choices, can you recommend where we might find the best lease deals? We're looking at: Mazda (cx7 or cx9), volvo (V50 or V70), Subaru (outback?), Ford Edge, Honda (pilot or crv) and Toyota (highlander or Rav4). I'm hoping we can go steer towards the lower priced units...but we just test drove the CX9 today...NICE car!

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! ES
