I had the same issue with the XM radio when buying my FX35 a couple of months ago. The dealer said they don't order many cars with XM factory installed, since most buyers don't want it yet. So for them to install it, it was going to cost $800. I told them it was their problem if they chose not to stock them that way, not mine. And I wasn't going to pay more than the $350. This would have been a deal breaker for me during negotiations, (reminding them that an Acura MDX comes with XM as standard equip) and when I stood up to leave, they finally accepted. I love the XM! Great for long trips.

Bought an Infiniti FX 35 AWD (2005 Sapphire/Willow) with:
    - Sport Package (must have!)
    - Touring Package
    - Sirius Sat
    - Silver Crossbars
    - Mats and Splash Guards

For $40,590 including T/T (out of the door) after some serious negotiation (price is about $1,000 under invoice). Bought the vehicle at Ramsey Infiniti, NJ -> they're HIGLY recommended!

 I was quoted $500 over invoice on a 2wd with touring package $35,700. When I got there they said they didn't have my color and it would be $350 more for transport fee and $500 additional because it was newer model (not a newer year or more options, just newer??). Anyway, I said no thanks and walked out. She is now trying to negotiate with me for just an additional $200 total instead of the $850, is that a good deal or should I wait until later summer to find a better deal? The deal before the $850 was first month and license down ($719) and $515 per month for 39 months/15K miles

Useless. Walk out. They're making a LOT of money on you. Transportation Fee? New Model Fee? That's B/S. If I add everything up:
    35700
    350 transportation
    200 new model fee
    450 dmv (est)
    2142 tax (6% NJ)
    38842 total

I paid for a FX35 AWD with sport and touring (and Sirius, mats, etc) 1748 more. You get AWD and touring for a bit more. Forget this dealer, really.

ok, the bottom line deal worked out to be 431(after tax)/month for 39 months. 600 total out of pocket, that included frist months payment. we got an fx 35, awd/touring/cargo protector msrp right at 40000.

    this is in NC.

I GOT THIS QUOTE ON FX35 AWD WITH TOURING AND SPORTS PACKAGE WITH $ 3000 DOWN PAYMENT ON 39 MONTHS I GOT THE PRICE OF $429 MONTHLY.. AND ON 24 MONTHS LEASE I GOT $460 BOTH INCLUDING THE TAXES IN NY. BY THE WAY ITS THE 12000 MILES A YEAR OPTION I NOTICED HOWEVER THAT THERES A BIG DIFF IN PRICE FROM 39 MONTHS TO THE 24 MONTHS AND I NEED SOMONES HELP HERE IAM WANTING TO GET IT THIS WEEKEND AND I NEED FEEDBACK FROM YOU GUYS PLEASE THANKS IS IT A GOOD PRICE AND WHAT SHOULD I DO 39 MONTHS OR 24 MONTHS? THANKS ALOT AND PLEASE RESPOND ASAP. HAVE A GREAT DAY
  • sphere99sphere99 Member Posts: 36
That seems like a great price difference on the 24 month lease, when I priced out the difference on mine it was more then $100 a month more to do a 24 (which I would prefer). I would go with the 24 month. But I would really look at not putting anything down, since its a lease your not really gaining anything.

I need the money factor and the risidual value on the Fx35 for this month will someone give it to me please thanks
  • sphere99sphere99 Member Posts: 36
my infiniti dealer just emailed me and told me it was at 0.00173

ok and whats the risidual value? thanks

THANKS I WILL HAVE A GOOD DAY....
    Please just stop shouting.
You should never put money down on a lease. If you are in a crash and the car is totalled that money is gone. Your question about 39 months or 24 months is entirely up to you... How long do you want to be locked into this car?

I am looking to purchase an FX35 AWD with Sport and Touring package and the 20 in rims. Has anyone purchased in Atlanta or Columbus, Ohio areas? I am regularly in both and would love to know what experiences others have had, and what prices paid. I was quoted 1% over invoice and a 15k, 0 down, 39 mos lease of $480 on the vehicle I described above.

One more thing, has anyone had driving experience in the snow in this thing? And I dont mean the Atlanta "oh no its snowing" snow where there are two flakes on the road, I mean the foot of snow per day type of snow where you are parking in a foot of the stuff in the parking lots. My XC90 awd was completely disabled sitting in 6 inches of snow in Ohio because the stupid traction control cant get switched off, even in the 'Winter mode'. I sat there giving it gas, and the tires remained totally motionless. I had to get it towed. Meanwhile my dad in his freakin Ford Taurus just pulled straight out, no problemo. How humiliating. Long story short, I dont want to trade the Volvo in on this FX and be right back in the same boat.

    Any advice?

Just wanted to confirm that you bought an '05 fx35 awd w/tour package for $35,754. Seems like one of the better deals seen on Edmunds!
  • ayenewayenew Member Posts: 11
I was beginning to feel good about my purchase but I am now wondering how great a deal this is. I just picked up a USED 2005 grey/black Infiniti AWD FX35 with 3,900 miles for $38.2K. I paid Tax/tags etc. extra which came to $3,200. It came with Tech, Sport and Touring. Original purchase date was 3/05 so just about all the warranty is still there.

I remember that snowfall that crippled Ohio. Chicago got it bad but you guys got it worse. I just picked up an FX35 AWD so I have not driven it in snow. But in my condo (Chicago) is another guy with 05 FX 35 AWD - 20 inch rims. I talked to him before I bought mine.

Early in Jan, when we had a snow fall around a foot and my former car was stuck. I asked this how he fared in his 05 AWD SPORT FX35 and he had no problems. I have friends in Denver with both an 03 and 04 of the same car and they had so many problems, they bought in addition one set of 18 rims. This guy with 05 has no problems of that kind.

Note: When I was buying, I brought this info to the salesperson. He told me that neither Infiniti nor his dealership will admit problems with prior models. But he said due to consumer problems on this issue, Infiniti made adjustments to the 05 which per my neighbor seems to be working out just fine.

Do you not have the RearView Camera? My FX35 has the RearView Camera and it makes backing out of my narrow driveway a breeze. The Infiniti RearView Cameras have "lane" guidance markers that allow you to clearly see where the edges of the driveway are. Keep any object from getting between the lines and backing up is a breeze.

    To all you lease experts,
I was quoted a lease for the FX 35 - Touring at $100 above invoice. The deal came upto $397 + tax with $3500 down for everything incl. tax tag etc. for 36 months, 12000 miles a year

However, they were not giving a good value for my trade in and hence the deal fell through.

I am looking to sell my car privately and then go back to the Infiniti dealership.
Question to you guys is I think I have a good price quoted, however, can they in anyway shape or form trick me. I have not been told details such as the residual value, bank fee, buy option etc.

    Thanks for all your answers

I just purchased my Infiniti FX35 AWD from Infiniti of Gwinnett. I honestly have to say it was the best car buying experience I have ever had, and I have purchased a LOT of cars. I was given a great price, a great deal on my trade, and everyone at the dealership was just great to work with.

Contrast that to Nalley Infiniti where the entire experience was miserable from day one. The sales rep was a perve - he wanted to spend more time commenting on the blonde in the next room than about my car. The hour I was there he wouldnt shut up about what he wanted to do to her. Then he used every trite, over-played car salesman stereotype you could think of. The managers, finance manager, and the sales rep were overbearing, arrogant, and were more representative of what I would expect at a Kia dealership than at an Infiniti dealership. Everytime I even raised the slightest question or objection, it was returned with long, dramatic sighs.... "Oh man"s, etc. It was the cheesiest thing I have ever experienced, and completely out of place for a supposed highline car dealership.

Go to Infiniti of Gwinnett. You wont be dissapointed. Avoid Nalley Infiniti like the plague.

Is it possible to get a FX35 with the Touring package for under 37k, msrp: 40100?
Looking to lease for 39mths, 12k miles, no $ down and keep my monthly payments at $400 (give or take) (including tax).

    Cost of Car $37,000.00
    Money Factor 0.0188%
    Residual 62.000%
    Tax 6.000%
    Term 39.00
    Actual Lease $14,060.00
    Residual Value $22,940.00
Based on this calculation, it looks doable, am i missing anything??

    Tks
  • mmanummanu Member Posts: 4
Well thats pretty much what I got.....around $395 + tax for the same ($100 over invoice) and another one was for $402 + tax for $200 over invoice.
However they did not give me a breakdown of the numbers like you have on your post.
I had to turn down both offers as they were giving me a lousy deal on my trade in. So i am waiting to trade in my car, wait for the 2006 models to come by and then approach the dealers.
  • mmanummanu Member Posts: 4
oops i forgot to mention that was with $3500 down......inclusive of tax tag title.....etc
  • pepitopepito Member Posts: 8
Well it looks like i may be picking up my new FX35 AWD Touring package tmrw. I'm getting it at $200 under invoice. I think that's a good deal...that was the best i was able to do after dealing with 3 different dealers.

Lease payments @ $450 with no $$$ down, except 1st payment, tags & mvd, for a term of 39mths and 12miles per year.

    Wish me luck,
    @. :)

Thanks for the info. I am looking to purchase a FX35 AWD with the tech package. Do you mind if I ask what price you paid?

  • chicagoareaguychicagoareaguy Member Posts: 1
I live in the suburbs north of Chicago and just bought an FX35 with Tech, Touring, Sport, DVD, Splash Guards and Cargo Area Protector. Edmunds says $45,987 is "What others are paying." I played off Fields in Libertyville against Motorwerks in Barrington. Fields' initial offer was $45,500. I ended up getting mine from Motorwerks for $44,000, after Fields "blinked," and wouldn't commit to the $44,000 and the best offer I had in hand for my trade-in.

I did not feel that either dealership unduly wasted any of my time. Fields is the best dealership at which I have ever taken a test drive. Salespeople make a copy of your driver's license and hand you the keys. They do not even attempt to ride along. Motorwerks has an "auto mall" in which you can browse many different upscale makes and models of cars during any time you spend waiting. I saw three cars over $350,000 (Maybach, Porche GT and Mercedes McLaren). Like most, however, my final purchasing decision was based solely on price.

By the way, the DVD with Lane Departure is extremely hard to find in stock. And the Lane Departure system really does work, although I wonder whether the muted beep it emits would rouse a sleepy driver, which is, ostensibly, its intended purpose. You can turn it off if you prefer to not hear the beep while zipping from lane to lane without using your turn signals

My family and I are moving from the Chicago area to mountainous Connecticut (o.k., hilly, but they're big hills). My wife wanted to get an SUV, but I don't want to drive a truck. To be fair, I test drove the LR3, Touareg, 9-7X, Freestyle, Highlander and Pilot, but had settled on the G35X over the Lexus GS 300, which is markedly smaller inside than the G35X and demands a $15,000 premium. However, we discovered on the showroom floor that the FX35 has a more spacious and comfortable back seat for the kids. And I absolutely love the bolstered seats and 20" wheels.

I haven't yet driven the FX35 in any inclement weather, but it's a blast on dry pavement. So much so that I could not justify the $6,600 premium for the incremental performance increase and, as my wife pointed out, mileage decrease of the FX45.

Bionic cheetah? I think of the FX as more of a sports car on steroids, which, in this case, is a good thing.

Infiniti Financial Services sent me a package saying I could turn in my 2002 QX-4 now and they would waive the remaining 6 payments on my lease, $500 in damages and excess mileage. Sounds good to me! Before I go to the dealer I need to know the approximate lease price for an FX-35 AWD with touring package. NO MONEY DOWN, NY tax rolled in, 39 months and 15k miles per year is the way I always do it. Any help out there is greatly appreciated.
  • pepitopepito Member Posts: 8
    SRZ948,

Not sure about NY, but I picked up a FX35 AWD with touring package and other minor accessories with no $$$ down, except 1st month and some minor tag fees for $450 a month, 39 mths and 12k. For 15k might be just a tad more, but not much. This is from a great dealer in NJ, which i highly recommend. I can email you the contact if you are interested.

I have a 2003 FX35, Touring, coming to the end of a 24mth lease with 30000 miles (15 @ yr lease). Residual value on lease is $23213 (I put a lot down - down ask why!). Should I buy out? I'm either buying out or getting another FX35 anyway.

They'll sell me a new one for about $36,750 (same config.)

    Thoughts?

    Thanks

New Price Update. I picked up my FX35 AWD STT (Splash/CargoP) DiamGraph Willow Int. last Friday. Price $42K flat (not incl. 6% ct tax and $289 conveyance) just a bit over $44K all in.

    Harte Infiniti, West Haven CT

If you really like buy it. if not trade it in (do not return it) It is worth more than the residual. Also the money you put down has nothing to do with the residual value it just lowered your payments. Trade in on a car like yours is probably around 25-26k Retail around 28k. I would either buy it or sell/trade it. Do not return it to IFS because then they will get equity out of it and not you.

Does anyone know a good online dealer or two? Looking to purchase a new fx45 sept. oct time frame. Hopefully I can get a good deal with the 2006 starting to come in around then.

    Hello,
I am looking to buy a new 2005 fx45 with Prem. and Tech package including splash and cargo prot. I have been offered by a dealer here in South Cali. of $49,800.00 (plus tax & fees). But I also want XM radio (they want $800.00 to add it), silver cross rails and sunroof deflector. I will have to deal a bit to have them add these other options. However, is the initial price a good deal?

Also, they will have to ship it here from either N.Cali or Arizona since they dont have the exterior/interior color combination I want. They want me to pay extra for that. Should I be paying for that?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I have been researching the purchase of an Infiniti FX35, 2WD w/ touring package for about four weeks. I knew the invoice price and what Edmunds.com suggested the average purchase was – and, thanks to these forums -- much more educated about leasing. I set out this past weekend to buy my new car. The first time out, I had a very bad experience at Troncolli Infiniti in Decatur, GA and, after two hours of haggling, walked out because I was getting a run-around and additional costs with the revolving sales managers trying to convince me I was getting the best deal in town!

Disappointed and dejected; I came home - scanned these forums again and noticed the postings advising of great experiences with Infiniti Gwinnett (GA). I looked through the messages received from dealers that had responded to my queries via internet earlier in the week; found the name of the internet sales person from Infiniti Gwinnett and e-mailed my expectations. 20 minutes later, I had purchased my new FX35, with Touring Package – including my color choice - AT 1% OVER INVOICE!

I have purchased several new cars over the years but always disliked haggling the price and sleazy dealer "add ons" as well as "hidden" costs. The experience via the Internet with Infiniti of Gwinnett was the best car-buying experience I have ever had!!! I picked up my new FX35 Monday afternoon, signed the paperwork after running through the "delivery" of the vehicle and drove off with the price/payment I had negotiated via the internet. WOW - I don't think I'll ever try to purchase another new vehicle directly in person again.....

Rec'd this offer which I am probably going to pull the trigger on in So. Calif. this is on a FX35 2WD Touring (tax is 7.75%)

    Quote from a dealer:

Regarding the FX35 with the Touring Package only, has a list price of 38.460.00 and a invoice of 35.247.00
On a 36mo lease including tax your payment would be 518.00 with 527.00 total down.
On a 39mo lease including tax your payment would be 494.00 with 503.00 total down.
    The residual is 59% @ 36mo @ .00176
The residual is 58% @ 39mo @ .00171, Let me know if this will work.

Down payment is nothing more, nothing less.

    Sounds good?
  • dhamiltondhamilton Member Posts: 878
What's the actual price you will be paying for the car? In California do you pay tax on the whole price of the vehicle [we do in texas on leases] or just on the payment? Are you making a security deposit for a reduction in money factor?....Dan

It's just on the payment though it equals the tax over the life of the lease. It ended up being $35,600 with a couple add-ons. There was no security deposit. Did pay acquisition fee ($550), title, lic, registration ($296). so it came out to $36,440. It was $458.52 plus 7.75% tax for $494.06

    Love the car, handles great!

I'm looking to replace my 540 w/ an suv. Options are essentially FX-35, MDX, X5 3.0 or maybe Murano. Love the FX looks but people keep telling me that its small. I have a wife and 2year old son. Is it really that much smaller than its competitors? I just basically need the awd capability (snow/rain; not offroading)and room for kids and all the stuff associated with them. I am trying to purchase an suv w/ good looks, somewhat decent acceleration/handling numbers (0-60 low to mid 7's at most) and won't kill me on my gas bill. My current 2 cars maybe get 30 mpg combined.

Also, can you recommend any dealers and what's a good price for an fx-35 w/ touring package lease nothing down, only first payment (no bank fees, taxes, etc...)

Lastly, are bank fees and disposition fees at end of lease negotiable?

    Thanks!

I own an '04 MDX and an '04 FX35. I consider the MDX to be the BEST family vehicle we've ever owned! We want room for 7 on occasion and the MDX delivers in style :shades: Yes the FX is really smaller than its competitors. How long do you plan on keeping the car? I use my FX as commuter vehicle; it is really not suitable for a large family of 4 as an everyday car in my opinion. However for 2 adults and 1 young child you should be OK; but it is not a people and cargo hauler.

Also we average 16-17 mpg in town and 22 mpg on the highway in the MDX.
The FX35 has really only been used around town, and averages 17-18 mpg.
  • artsrt10artsrt10 Member Posts: 13
Thanks for the advice. How doesthe MDX stack up w/ the FX as far as fun to drive (esp acceleration)? Also is the fx smaller just in cargo space or are we talking back seat as well? I feel like I should buy the MDX but I want the FX. Do you really feel the need for more room in the FX that often?

    Thanks for your help.

The MDX is especially nimble for a large 7-seat SUV, with good handling, very tight turn radius (easy to park), decent acceleration, etc. Its my wife's daily driver and the family car of choice; when all 5 of us are together we always take the MDX. The FX is my daily driver and is never (or very rarely, for 4 of us) used as the family hauler; thus I really do not feel a need for more space. The FX is a rear-wheel drive with a large hump in the rear floor, it is not really practical for 5 adults (3 large people in the back would not be comfortable). As I said it should suffice for 2 adults and 1 young child.
  • cadub49ercadub49er Member Posts: 42
I was debating between the MDX and FX as well. The MDX is going to have more room overall but the FX, for me, was not going to be my "family car". The FX's backseat leg room seemed to suit my wife who is a stickler for having space in the back. The cargo room is less but again that's not why I wanted the car.

The FX is so much more fun to drive than the MDX. The handling is great, especially on the turns and the cockpit of the FX feels very secure and comfortable. I get excited about thinking about driving the car. To me, it had a little more bling than the MDX though I liked the fact that the MDX has pretty much everything standard in the car.

If you are more interested in the handling, performance aspects of the car, go with the FX. If the car is going to be your #1 family option, go with the MDX
