Would like numbers on a 2016 Laramie crew cab 4x4, 36/12 or 39/12 in Rhode Island please. MSRP $48530, sell would be right around $41,000. Would like zero due numbers if possible to make adjustments on my own and sanity check the dealer's numbers, as I have a feeling they're marking things up pretty heavily.

They gave me a number of 3k due up front and 599/mo for 36, this including about $4,700 negative on a trade. By my numbers that makes the zero due around 682/mo, with the $4700 negative accounting for ~$130 a month, so the zero due without the trade would be $552/mo.

Agree with the $130/mo for the negative equity - any reason you can't wait until that number is lower?

It's important to remember, that there is a difference between "$0 down" and "$0 due at signing" - ideally, you only want to pay the first payment and any non-taxable government fees when you sign the paperwork. Everything else should get rolled into the lease payment.

Thanks for the quick response. I don't have that info in front of me. The 599/36 w/3k due was, I think, a 'see if it sticks' number to try and get me to jump at a huge number that they could get a ton of profit on.

I could wait until it's lower, but I'm trying to see if I can lower my current payment by snagging a 'last day of the year' deal on a 2016.

Assuming the cap cost is let's say $45,500 ($41k sell plus $4500 between negative and fees), what should that roughly be around?

I didn't pay attention to the title of this discussion. I gave you numbers for the 2017 Ram.

2016 numbers are a little different - .00014 and 52% (36/12) or 51% (39/12)

Plugging in your prices with the revised lease number for 36/12, I get $573/mo before tax.

Right, that pretty much confirms my suspicions. Somehow their payment was $26 more per month (probably the 7% sales tax here in RI) AND included 3k up front.

Looks like I'll have some grinding to do, but it most likely won't end up working out.

I found a 2016 leftover RAM Rebel that has a sticker price of around $54,000.
The advertised price is just around $39,000.

I inquired about the truck and they told me that price is not available for leasing. The best they can do is give me a $500 discount off the sticker price. Seriously for a 2016 leftover???

Does this sound legit? I was in contact with another dealer and their advertised price, which was similar(different color truck) would be the negotiated price applied to the lease.

How could 2 dealers give such different information?

Well.. the $500 off seems kind of silly.

But, a lot of makes offer big purchase incentives that aren't applicable to a lease. "Domestic" manufacturers, in particular.

The other dealer is probably going to use an independent bank. That low price might not translate into a low lease payment.

With your prices, I get $432/mo plus tax, so their quote is way off base. Ask them what the adjusted cap cost is, and how they arrived at that number from the selling price. That might answer some questions.

Also, get the full breakdown of the $1671 up front.
