What is the sweet spot right now - 33, 36, 39 months? None of the dealers around here want to run a 33 month lease, they look at me like I'm crazy.

Anyway, I'm looking at a 2016 S Touring hatch in SoCal, and have been working on a 39 month lease for 10k/year. I've negotiated my way down to a $0 out the door, first month free, $280/month with all acquisition, taxes (9%) and fees rolled in (just leaving a disposition fee at the end of the lease). I feel like this is a good deal - is it?

    .00001 MF and 59% residual for 33/10
    .00001 MF and 55% residual for 36/10
    .00013 MF and 55% residual for 39/10

For this model, the 39 month term is probably cheapest, followed by 33 months, then 36.

  • Looking for the best lease deals on a well-equipped Mazda 3 in Southern California. Hatch vs. Sedan doesn't matter much to me, and I would like the S Touring or S Grand Touring, but again, am largely indifferent between the two. As far as term, I'd like 12K miles/year, and anywhere from 24-39 months. I'm looking for the lowest total yearly cost (i.e., paying $11K total over three years is better than $8K total over two years). The various Mazda figures are bewildering -- where is the sweet spot as far as Hatch vs. Sedan/S Touring vs. S Grand Touring/24-33-26-39 months? Thanks!

33mo, 12K/yr would be the sweet spot.

    .00001 MF

    S-Touring Hatch - 58% residual

    S-GT Hatch - 59% residual

    S-Touring Sedan - 59% residual

    S-GT Sedan - 60% residual

Even though the Tourings have a lower residual than the GT, they are probably cheaper to lease, due to the lower MSRP/selling price.

My calculations are within pennies of what you show. If you're comfortable with the selling price, no reason not to pull the trigger.

Now I'm asking: Any change for February that you are award of, I got 55% and MF .00051 from dealer with $275 cash back today, same 36 Month/15K miles, just trying to figure out if numbers changed from Mazda or if they are simply adding on a profit center to the deal...thanks
