P.S. These little SUVs haul [non-permissible content removed] :surprise:
I was told 30-60 days. Wilde Toyota in Milwaukee.
Now need to decide about extended warranty. What is everyone finding out for prices? I learned they can negotiate price. I'm considering the highest mileage one ($120,000) since I put lots of miles on my car commuting.
Thanks
I got the highest one 100,000 miles for $800. They were trying to sell it to me at $1200. I guess you would lower the price of the warrenty as well.
You can change your mind. Go back and tell them that was NOT the deal, and if they don't fix it then deal is off. I'm sure they rather have a deal, even if they make $400 less. After all they are still making another 2% after they sell you the vehicle. Don't let them fool you or intimidate you.
I belong to a credit union. This dealer is not affiliated with my credit union.
Out of 15 dealers affiliated with my credit union only one had the V6, curtain airbags, and 3rd row seat! Other options included were carpet floor mats, roof rails, mud guards, tow hitch, DTR lights. They quoted this one at $25,146. I think it ends up being $1,000 over invoice. This dealer is in Brooklyn. I would buy it if I could bring him down to $24,500. Could use advice.
Another option included is deletes cargo. What is that?
Funny story! One dealer called me and I told him about the $24,574 deal and he assumed it was a 4 cyl. I told him it was a V6 and he suddenly had to go saying I got a great discount. I figured at this price it's $500 over invoice. Is it that good?
Its a black base 4x4 with 3rd row seat, side curtain airbags, roof rack, daytime running lights, 17" spoke wheels. Edmunds had this at $21,975 invoice.
My dealer says he's offering this to me at invoice which is listed as $22,408 on his printout. Mine also includes the mats and mud flaps which add up to another $208. But there's still a $200 difference from the edmunds invoice.
Mine also shows a $306 TDA fee (which they explained was some advertising fee that varies depending on where you live and is actually $0 in some areas.) There's a 217 wholesale financial reserve fee, and they list the dealer holdback in the invoice as $434.
My dealer has the vehicle base listed as $19096 -- Edmunds has it as $19747. Why the difference in the base invoice price?
Edmunds also lists that others are paying $23,343 for this car. (Edmunds added $100 onto this price for the area I live in.) According to this price it is a deal, but do you think $22408 is a deal?
We know somebody who is a part owner in the dealership and was hoping to get a good price. The salesman says they never sell these at invoice because they're so popular. They had a few on the lot, but only this one with side airbags and 3rd row seat.
My dealer has the vehicle base listed as $19096 -- Edmunds has it as $19747. Why the difference in the base invoice price? "
Edmunds adds in the wholesale financial reserve fee & dealer holdback in with their "base invoice". Do the math, you'll see. I'm thinking that Edmunds is in on the whole scam with the dealers on hiding numbers in the new car pricing shell game.
Thanks
When I was ready to buy I submitted a request to two dealers through the Edmunds website. After initially getting useless responses (come on down!) they offered me prices close to the Edmunds TMV.
I also submitted a request directly through a dealer's website (Clair Toyota in Boston) I was immediately offered the invoice price (plus $200 for title and plates). It took about 10 days to find the car (base V6 with third row, tow package, side air bags). Purchase went off without a problem. Unless you are the rare person who enjoys spending hours haggling and waiting, I would highly recommend this approach.
I also negotiated a decent trade in price by e-mail.
I am now set on buying a RAV4 by the end of two weeks and have renewed my contacts w/ internet sales people in the Miami/Broward area.
I'm looking to buy:
RAV4 Basic - V4
White/Silver
Standard options added on to RAV4s in the SOFLA area include:
CDAT – Cargo Area Tonneau Cover - invoice - $112 / msrp - $140
DJAT – AM/FM 6-Disc In-Dash CD Changer - invoice - $150 / msrp - $200
DRAT – Black Roof Rails & Crossbars - invoice - $176 / msrp - $220
RLAT – Daytime Running Lights invoice - $32 / msrp - $40
DESTINATION Fee - $605
SET Administration Fee - $558 (Edmunds.com)
Total @ Invoice: $20,456 (including destination charge, and SET admin fee)
W/ 7% sales tax = $21887.92 (not including tag/title --how much is that anyway?)
This here lies the rub. From the last dealer, he told me that the SET advertising/admin fee was $725. What's up with the discrepancy versus EDMUNDS?
Kendall Toyota offered me $20,995 AND THEN TOLD ME ABOUT THE $725 fee --which sounds like alot.
Can I expect to walk out of the dealership paying for this car at $22,000 flat w/ tax, doc, everything included or am I unrealistic? Any local buyers out there?
Unfortunately for me the V6 engine and 3rd row combo is impossible to find and I didn't want to wait for ordering specific model. I was too slow commiting to one very similar with the evergreen ext. which I would've preferred over the silver I have now.
congrats, you'll love the v6 w/ 3rd
Thanks.
The dealership i went to in IL ( Northbrook IL ) wanted met to buy the car in stock which wasnt 4 x 4 and was convicing me about the myth .
1 . Is 4 x 4 needed in IL weather ?
2. Can the drive out ( OTD ) price be = invoice price ?
For the options I needed , The invoice = $24900 .
I am 5'11 and can fit comfortably in the 3rd row seat. Wouldn't be great for anything besides across town for an adult. I was amazed at how much room there really is.
I've purchased nine Toyotas from the same dealer over the past 22 years. They treated me great after my first purchase and ever since, and I've always been satisfied with their sales & service.
Yeah, I've probably paid a little more than some posters (I got my '06 RAV4 4I LTD MSRP=$26,704 for $25,691 and only had to wait 10 days), but spread the small additional cost out over the life of a car and it's trivial.
For $2000, Baltimore or Harrisburgh is not far from you.
Also Carmax Va. has them for near invoice and other dealers in MD have them $200 less than invoice. don't pay MSRP, that is just a rip off
Real examples at www.fitsmall.com
Someone mentioned higher interest rates on new car loans. I was in a similar situation and didn't do much better than you. (6.59%)
MSRP: $28,582.
Paid: Invoice
Includes tow prep, JBL 6 disc, fog lights, moon roof, air bags all around, 4 mats plus rear rug, 18" rims, mudguards.
FE, DJ, GY, SR, TO, CF, EF, MF, V4
Roadguard (3m clear bra) installed as part of the deal.
No extended warranty.
It's great so far.
How do you get into the car without shutting it off after using the remote starter?
Thanks
Highs: Agility, fuel economy, rear-seat room, access, controls, refined and quick V6 powertrain.
Lows: Thigh support for some drivers.
....Matt
I am just curious what others in NE paid for a "Limited" V6, w/ moon roof and JBL.
The Edmonds invoice numbers are correct. Your guy maybe adding the advertising charge back in also if it exist in NE.
I think sales are starting to slow but the model year deliveries are probably coming to an end so if you find what you want you may have to pay what they want. Or wait for the 2007s.
Some net dealers are starting to sell for $300 below invoice. But Limited is not easy to find, espescially V6.
Take a look at www.fitzmall.com or Carmax, Laurel MD. site and you will see what real prices can be.
