Going to assist my father-in-law tomorrow - Chicago - He has 16K on a 2010 Sonata
LOW mileage lease needed - everything I see says 3 year lease is best deal
Local dealer is showing $17,499 (before taxes, registration, etc.) - $19,600 is what they are showing for MSRP
SO, what is lowest mileage lease available, MF, residual & lease cash available?

.00075 MF and 58% residual for 36mo, 10K/yr. $500 lease cash.

If he only drives 3K mi/yr, would probably be better off buying and keeping it for 5 or 6 years, like the last car.

And, I've learned that the lease taxes in Cook County are brutal -- something on the order of 17%.

Much better to buy and hold.

Any particular reason he wants to get rid of the Hyundai? The 10 year / 100K warranty is a nice safety net.

Came home today with 2016 Jetta S @ $58/month for 10K/36Month - Taxes are $50 of that - Chicago REALLY taxes heavy (9.25% Cook County + 8% City of Chicago) - Not really sure WHAT is being taxed, but it was approx. $1800 in taxes.
$17,999 negotiated
$500 lease cash
$7,100 trade-in
$700 something "dealer contribution"
No balance due on Hyundai - no add'l down

The Hyundai - driver side door lock started NOT working with key fob - 6 year old tires - just looked like it was time to start putting some money into it. AND I think he just felt it was time for something new.
