Hi! Just got a lease for the first time in my long life (in NH) and I am having trouble evaluating what's a good deal and what isn't. This is what I got: 2016 CR-V LX AWD, $3200 down and $199/mo. 36/12. MSRP was 26k plus change. Fair price or should I study harder 3 years from now? (Buyout figure was $15k plus, if that matters) P.S. Tired of losing my cars to rust.

Seems like a middle of the road kind of deal. You might have been able to get another $600-$800 off, but that seems really solid.

No idea what will happen in January, except it will be different.
If I wanted to lease a 2016 model, I'd make it happen before the end of the year.

.00032 or .00072 (state dependent) and 59% (EX) or 58% (EX-L) for 36/12.

Honda does not offer a 10K mileage allowance.

$900 lease cash is nationwide.

The $900 lease cash is a factory to dealer incentive.

I got a quote for a 2016 CR-V EX FWD from a dealer (in CA bay area), for $362/month (after tax) for 36 months, $1000 down, 12k miles / year.
3 questions:
- is this an ok deal?
- I didn't ask for MF, doesn't that just factor into the monthly payment anyway?

For your reference, my dealer is offer 300/month for the 2016 crv exl AWD model, 2500 due at signing and that price is with my 21k over mileage on my current honda accord lease. So I'd say you can do much much better.

Cost - $23,500
Residual - 0.59 (16,935)
Destination - $900
Taxes - $2,109
Fees - $392

Lease cost - $315 (277 + 9.5% Chicago tax + $18 interest)
$0 down (just need to pay the first month lease)

Do you guys think this is a good deal? I expected to have a lease cost below $300 (with $0 down) given it is the last day of the year and Honda is trying to clear inventory. Is that realistic?

First, the Honda programs don't expire until Tuesday, so no need to rush.

Second, the destination charge is part of the MSRP; it's disingenuous to have it broken out.

However, I don't see the $595 acquisition fee anywhere.

Are you in Cook County or the city of Chicago? If the latter, you'll have two sets of sales tax - the state and the city. About 17% total

Ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost and how they arrived at that number from the selling price.

Yes - residuals are the same for both LX and SE FWD or AWD.
