So do you get $236 or $211(never know with my math skills)? Thanks again!

I get $215, so pretty close to the $211.

Confirm the adjusted cap cost after factoring in the rebates .. that's what's driving the payment difference.

Here is an almost unbelievable lease deal:
24 month/ 24000 mile closed end lease, 2016 Encore MSRP 25385. Lease payment $74/month for 24 months (+ tax, title, license, doc fee, acquisition fee, and dealer added equipment)

How much is due at signing, beyond the taxes and fees?

Things that look too good to be true often are.

As explained above, the monthly lease payment is $74 for 24 months (+ tax, title, license, doc fee, acquisition fee, and dealer added equipment). That means if you pay all those in parentheses at signing, along with the first of twenty four $74 monthly payments, then the remaining 23 payments will also be $74. Or, if you have excellent credit, you can probably pay the sum of those items divided among 24 months which would increase your monthly payment above the $74.

Is there a link that shows this deal?

Here's the only link I found
    http://forums.edmunds.com/discussion/38283/buick/x/2016-buick-encore-lease-questions

An offer is a step towards a deal. A deal is made after buyer and seller agree on terms.
Car dealers do not advertise so you can get the best deal because they hope to make big profits on most of their cars.
If you want to make an extra good deal, you have to figure out what it is first, and then negotiate with the dealer.

That link is to this discussion.

I'm not questioning the offer itself; I'd just like to see the 'fine print' behind it - because I believe you and I both know the fine print exists.

Let's break this down ... the 24/10 numbers on the Encore this month are .00040 and 67%. I don't know the MSRP, but let's assume $27,000. That means the residual value is just over $18K.

Next question - what is the selling price? No idea what the invoice value is, or what expected transaction prices might be. There is, however, $1630 in factory to dealer incentive to use on top of the best deal you make.

Making up a number, let's assume you can get the price down to $23K with the incentives. You pay any fees and taxes up front. The depreciation is then roughly $5K ($23K price less $18K residual value). Over 24 months, that is $208/mo.

So, to get to $74/mo, you have to make a down payment equivalent to $134/mo for the 24 months, or $3200.

And, that's not taking into consideration the MF on top of the depreciation.

As it stands, seeing an ad for "$74/mo" doesn't give us the complete picture. Therefore, it's hard to accept at face value.

    MSRP was stated.
The actual negotiated deal was much better than any advertised lease offer I've seen for a new 2016 model.
"...24 month/ 24000 mile closed end lease, 2016 Encore MSRP 25385. Lease payment $74/month for 24 months (+ tax, title, license, doc fee, acquisition fee, and dealer added equipment)"
The "fine print" is that within the parentheses. Unless financed to add to the monthly $74, the only down payment on the car purchase price is the cost for dealer added equipment. But that still leaves the government and dealer fees that would need to be paid at signing or financed onto the monthly payment. Government fees vary widely depending on location and dealer fees vary widely due to dealership whim and state law.
I don't much like lease ads because although the fine print does contain all other relevant terms to fully define the offer, it rarely, if ever, assigns numbers to those terms, which numbers would be needed to calculate the effective monthly payment.
Bottom line is, to make a really good deal, you must go into a dealership knowing what a really good deal is, and be willing to negotiate to achieve it or walk away if no agreement is reached. Then, onto the next dealer.

Zip code 93036. For Buick Encore Turbo MSRP 25,810 lease of 24/10k, is residual 67% & MF .0004? Also how much lease cash available? I have a competitive lease.

A reporter is looking to speak with car shoppers who recently purchased a truck or SUV instead of a coupe or sedan because they were influenced (at least in part) by today's low gas prices. If this sounds like your experience and you're willing to help, please contact [email protected] by no later than May 24, 2016.

  • I found a 2016 Buick Encore 4dr FWD rated at (its in Akron, Ohio) :
    MSRP- $25,385
    selling price: $19,385.
    1. What is RV and MF for this?
    2. Also, should I buy the lease or should I go for 2017?
I am tempted to 2016 because of the price drop. Your opinion would be much appreciated.

There are no lease numbers for the 2016, so it's likely that the 2017 will be cheaper to lease, at this point.
