Sincerely appreciate your taking a look. It's a 36/15 lease. I think I am not making myself clear, sorry about that. I'd like to know how the dealer arrived to $5,770 in taxes as stated in Item 17 of the lease form. I think the number is wrong and they are sneaking it to put me on the hook for additional $$$ later ??? Could it be the case?

That tax amount is wrong. CA only taxes the monthly payment; no up front tax is collected (unless there is an incentive). Talk with the finance manager at the dealership to see what they think it is for.

Trying to work finish working this offer at the dealership. Just want to check with you guys first and see what you think. I am trading in a BMW and upside down by $5,865. Any feedback would be great, especially trading in with negative equity.

    MSRP: $57,774
    Selling Price: $52,500.00
    Trade In: $19,000.00
    Trade Balance: $24,865.48
End of lease price: $38,130.00 (66% residual)
Money Factor: .000140 (buy rate from my understanding)
    Tax credit: 1% vs 6.25%
    Term: 36 months/ 10k
    Acquisition Fee: $700.00
    Dealer (doc, license, ect.) $345.00

    Monthly: $699
    Down Payment: $2,000.00

Hopefully I didn't leave anything off. Thank you!

Texas? Tax credit saves a lot of money.
.00140 is a really good MF for a GX, assuming that is correct. We usually see .00190.

Assuming the tax, acq.fee, dealer fee and first payment are covered by the $2000, and the negative equity is rolled into the CAP cost, I get $697/mo. (with the .00140 MF).

Can't tell you if the trade-in offer is good, but the rest of the deal is stellar. The tax credit saves over $2500.

Yes, tax credit is Texas. They came back at lease rate at .00160 after completing the credit application. With $800down/$714 month.

My trade is a 2013 BMW 328i Sport with 59,5k miles.

  • Moderator, do you have current MF and residual numbers for a GX 460 Base, 24 and 36 months with 10K? Also - I know this is rarely asked on this forum - but do you have rate/MF information for a LFS 24-month 1 pay (single payment) lease? Thanks for your help.
  • I should have mentioned in above question, state is CA

    .00190 and 74% / 67%.

No information on one-pay MF discounts for Lexus.

  • Hey guys,

First time poster, long time reader.

Looking to get into a 2016 GX 460- base + premium + preferred accessory, mahogany steering wheel, headlamp washers, blind spot, tow hitch. Live in Texas where tax is 6.25% on the selling price.

Got the following deal from a local dealer. I went against everything I've done in the past (third lease now) and went along with their bid to negotiate based on monthly payment.

    MSRP 57 645
    Selling Price 51 063
    MF .0016
    Residual (65%) 37 470
    Acquisition fee 700
Net cap (including TTL & fees) 55299

Without much trying, we're at $646 per month including taxes. Nothing due at drive off except my first month payment. Apparently I missed out on the tax break in Texas on the GX by about a week.

Seems like they're hiding some stuff in the Net cap because with tax and acquisition, I feel like there's still a bunch of unaccounted stuff.

Also, is there any idea to know how each MSD may affect the MF/monthly payment?

    Thanks for the help!

As is, I get $644/mo, so pretty close to the dealer quote.

For Lexus, total 9 MSDs allowed, each of which lower the MF .00008 - that would take the MF to .00088 and the payment to $577/mo.
