Is that residual a typo? I show 51% for 36/15 on the 2016 Altima.

Ah, the 36/15 residual for the 2015 Altima 2.5S is 41%. But, the MF is a whopping .00220.

With your prices, I get a payment of $262/mo (assuming 6.25% tax).

Seems there is a disconnect; if I use the 2016 Altima MF of .00003, the payment works out to $200/mo, as you noted.

I would confirm all the numbers with the dealer before going in to sign.

I have been talking to a local dealer and asked 

"I'm looking at stock# 160769 (2016 Altima S). Msrp $24,870 - dealer discount of $6,432 = sale price of $18,438 plus manufacturer incentives/rebates no mater if I finance through you, a third party, lease, or cash. Is this correct?  Would you be able to bring the price down to $17,500?"

response "Yes I can sell stock number 160769 for $17,500 whether you finance with us or not."

When I asked for them to do up a lease offer they said

"The lease special is different it wouldn't be at the same price, but it's a better deal because you don't pay finance charges to banks and you have options at the end of 2 to 3 years."

does this response sound correct? 

Looking at leasing from an AZ dealer registering in NM terms 24/15 what's the MF residual% and incentives?

There are often different incentives on lease vs. purchase; not surprised the numbers changed when you said you wanted to lease.

Leasing is an alternative to financing; both have their pros and cons.

Need to know the selling price or adjusted cap cost in order to fully evaluate what you've told us.

To reduce the payment $17/mo, you'll have to negotiate another $600 or so off of the cap cost.

I get $291/mo with the $27,968 price; $347/mo with the $29,968 price.

I'd suggest you get some clarity from the dealer on the cap cost and the amount due at signing.

They have to use the money factors and residuals provided by the leasing bank, but it's just like any other car deal. They can adjust selling prices, etc.

Hello! I'm helping my friend lease another Altima (she got ripped off big time on her last lease! She put 6K down and paid 253 a month for an Altima with a MSRP of about 30K and 12K miles a year). We are looking to get her payment to $275 a month with 1K out of pocket, 36 months, 15K miles a year. Right now the MSRP of the car she wants is 33,240 What would the adjusted cap cost need to be to get her payment to $275? She is considering dropping some options to help get a lower payment. The best offer we have is 299 a month with 1K due. Thanks!

The 36/15 numbers on the Altima are .00003 and 50%.

Is the $275 before or after tax? What state and tax rate?

We do not recommend putting any money down on a lease - that money would be lost if the car is stolen or totaled.

What does the $1K due at signing cover?

Ah, I see. Up front costs is not the same as cap reduction.
