slap that baby in with the 6 speed stick, and a little more upscale interior, plus a moonroof, and a suspension upgrade to match the motor, and I might just be interested!
Neat concept. So much nicer than the C-coupe ever was. I like the glass roof and the inverted mesh inserts for the grille. Hopefully some of those make production.
The creases on the side remind me of some BMWs and even the outgoing Impreza, with the concave surfaces.
No standard dock, money has to be made somehow. The industry should have standard size or part of some kind though, so units can be used in multiple locations.
I used to have a Yamaha Majesty 400, which is the same thing. Cruised at 75mph with little trouble, and had 60 liters of storage under the seat. But, those little wheels and plastic bodywork made crosswinds major events at freeway speed. I'm on a motorcycle now.
If you want a really substantial scooter, check out the Burgman 650 and the Honda Silver Wing. The big Burger has even bigger wheels.
Volvo is coming out with something like this. It is a pivoting dock built into the driver's A pillar, designed to hold a Garmin. It has built in power plug/jack/connector of some kind, so no need for wires. And, it still pops out to take with you. So most of the advantages of built in, but still portable. Not having to deal with the wires and suction cup sounds nice.
one neat feature of the unit (not sure if they all do this) is a "where's my car" feature. It remembers where you popped it out, and can guide you back to your car.
My Garmin has that but you have to go into the menu to set it when you leave the car. It was spot on the one time I used it in pedestrian mode in a busy tourist town.
Lots of GPS-enabled smartphones have this feature. I suppose it could be useful for some folks but I never forget my wallet (rear pocket), keys (front or jacket pocket), or where I parked (right over there).
Thinking about it some more, the manufacturers could make money selling docking interfaces for various devices. Edit: stickguy says Volvo is doing something like this.
Why not? They sell pig tail cable adaptors now.
The iPod kit option I considered for my last car purchase cost more than the iPod itself! :surprise:
yeah, those ipod kids can be many hundreds of dollars. It's just a matter of time before similar exists for navi. Still a lot cheaper than a fully integrated unit.
Speaking of Durangos, I have seen two this week, both rentals.
Saw my first Equus on the road. First spotted it about 4 blocks away, thought it was a LS for a second, until I saw the rear part of the greenhouse. It seemed to be sitting high, and it had big (but stock) blingy chrome wheels that were a bit much, contrasting with the black paint.
Nothing too surprising at the Dallas car show today. There was one WTF? moment - a Lexus LS600h with the whole slammed/big wheel/big brakes treatment, on the Lexus stand... :confuse:
actually saw a Volt on the road yesterday. Still with temp tag. Pretty invisible car, really. If I had pulled out 2 seconds sooner, I would have been in front of it and never known what it was. Only the taillights tipped me off.

It took some cues from the LF-A but could have taken more.
The way it turned out, the front is aggressive, but the profile is too conservative. It almost looks like a face-lift of the outgoing model, and not all new.
Comments
The Malibu is supposed to get some cues from the Camaro, though I'm not sure how it will look. Let's wait and see...
Not two...
But THREE new BMW 5 series this morning, one with temp tags and all.
Sure looks better than the outgoing Dame Edna ones.
Not so far-fetched after all:

man, did they have a lot of cars at that place.

It could be practical, too.
I will admit that the Cube has grown on me and now i rather like it but I'm the only one in the family that feels that way.
E coupe on I Street caught my eye, until I saw the red Ducati 749 parked next to it.
I'll take the Italian one. :shades:
Suzuki Burgman 400:

Reminds me of the Honda Helix. Very substantial looking, 14" rims apparently. That's bigger than the wheels on my old Chevy Sprint.
Still haven't seen a S1000RR on the street, I think I like those.
Firs I saw a ca. 1990 Nissan 300ZX, in that pale yellow that shouldn't work on a sports car but does on that one, looked in like new shape.
Then I spotted a Mitsu 3000GT in white (not a flattering color for it) in pretty good cond but not as nice as the Nissan.

It was a nice gunmetal gray-ish color.

Any why not dock a tablet like that?
Why pay $2200 for a lame DVD-based (not even BluRay) Rear Entertainment System with a tiny 7-8" screen when you can buy *FOUR* iPads for less?
Give an iPad to each family member.

OK, still like the JGC better...
And a black GTR nearly blew me off the highway as well, guy must've been doing 110, easily.

I didn't see it, but my cousin was there, and her husband was cross-shopping Durango vs. Explorer vs. F150 crew cab.
I'll go out on a limb and guess he's probably going to buy a Ford now.

I was hoping for more. They only really took risks on the front view.
Profile looks like half way between the current GS and LS. The front is LF-A inspired but could have gone further IMHO.

A swing and a miss!
Saw a filthy white new E-class today too.
