Hummm? A Charger you say. An awkward looking version of the 300. Sorry, but that one doesn't do much for my eyes. Glad ya like the Hemi engine.

Has anyone had this wierd problem? With the Sirius Satellite playing I turn the car off. The next day when I start the car the radio comes on AM and all the twelve presets are gone into thin air. It happened a few times earlier but the presets remained so it was not a real problem. Yesterday it happened the instant pushed the button on the door to reset the seat adjustment. When you set the seat adjustment the setting appears on the radio dial so I certainly think the seat control in involved.
Its in the shop today for the third alignment(no right hand pull but VERY crown sensitive) and the dealer thinks they can improve on that with the factory,s help. Hopefully they can find the radio problem. I'm still complaining about the elevated reading of the outside temperature. Am I the only one having these wierd problems?

I ordered our 2006 300C loaded except for navigation system. Side curtains and all. Ordered on 11/22/05 and dealer called me on 12/20/05 or so that car out of factory and waiting for delivery. Took delivery 1/8/06, and have had windows tinted; new grill installed and purchased from chrysler dealer. Ordered chrome for door posts. Like the look but wondering if black looks better?? Anybody know how to remove chrome with strong 3-m tape used to install??

Car had 8 miles when delivered and now it has 1150 miles. Love the car, no pulling no tranny slipping, conti tires OK for now. We are just totally satisfied and so far have gotten 20.8 miles on a 400 mile short trip and 21.9 on a 600 mile trip. This is actual mileage not computer (which is rather close). the 4cylinder to v8 is fast and not noticeable. The navigation system is really neat and easy to use.

Purchased from a small dealer who worked really hard at getting my business. they beat the big dealers price hands down.

I purchased 7yr 100K zero deductible. I hope this is a waste of money, I will be very happy if that is the case.

I will continue to read the forum and give updates periodically, and hopefully all my posts will be positive

If I but new rims for my 300C will I cause a problem with the tire pressure sensor??? will stay at 18" rims. :confuse:

Congrats on your new 300C--cannot believe that DC is still using those POS Conti-Contact tires--IMHO they are DANGEROUS, especially when there is dew on the road surface (and NOT just the rear tires slip--waaaay too easy to spin out). Good luck with your new ride.

Chrysler has a fix for this vibration. It involves replacing the exhaust system. Your dealer can help you or you can email me and I'll get you the part numbers.

Problems with our radio is you start the car and you have no volume for any thing (Radio, CD or Sirius). Turn the car of for about 5 min. it will come on. Memory for exiting vechicle (steering wheel and seat movement) has been lost 3 times. Replaced the tires after 25000 miles (with G/Y) mostly due to miss alignment by dealer due to not knowing right alignment specs during first 5000 miles (tires were feathering). A/C has stopped working while driving down the highway. Car was bought 04/04 so far have not had the problem of pulling. Naturally it is all under warranty, but it sure is getting old. Does anyone think this is a "LEMON" getting more sour?????? :lemon: :lemon:

The memory seat position also controls the radio presets. Each driver sets their radio stations as well as the seat position and steering wheel. If you want them the same you have to do the presets twice, one for each seat memory.

I'm wondering just how the hemi goes so effortlessly from an 8 cyl. to a 4? Is it electrical, do the pistons continue to go up and down. Anyone know the engineering used here?

does anyone know if you can get a new 300c with 20" wheels from a dealer. It is not an available option so how much would a dealer charge?
  • in2locksin2locks Member Posts: 13
Yes some dealers do have them but what they are charging is out of this world you would do better if you just get your own.

I had a few problems with my 2005 Chrysler 300C.
The steering was fixed by the dealership with Chrysler's help.
The dealership tried with great effort and concern to fix problems.
The dealership and Chrysler did everything to make things right.
    Keep on being squeaky bearings.
They are the ones that get fixed.
    I was taken care of.

Got 500 miles on new 2006 300c. When I back it up to the right get a shutter/slip like situation. anyone have this problem? :confuse:
  • mikehtallymikehtally Member Posts: 2
According to the animation, the injectors are turned off for two cylinders on each side, and the exhaust valve lifters are collapsed. Let's hope the pistons continue, or it'll need a new crankshaft, camshaft, etc. They say the switch is made in 40 millisec.

Car was at dealer for 2 days. A rep from chrysler was there to diag. He said to order a new upper control module. They called the manuf. of the module and they said no way they have to eat it since it is under warranty. They said they have to drain the brain and then reprogram all the electronics. Well they did that and now the seat does not move backward upon exiting. Now they are ordering a new module for the seat. They did replace the radio so we will see if that solves the radio problem. also have to replace a upper strut rod because of a clunking noise when going over a bump at slow speeds. :lemon: :lemon:

  • green12green12 Member Posts: 15
Yes I have the same problem have had it ever sence day one the dealer calls it a shutter and there is no fix at this time. I have been watching this site to see when someone has there's fixed. my car had 5 miles on it I asked for a new one they told me the car was already titled I am not in favor of using the lemon law unless I have to. :confuse:

Issue with my daughter's car cutting out may have been resolved. She had to take the car to a chrysler dealership that was a competitor against where she purchased her car. They went all through the car, repaired underneath, replaced the tires and rims, and ran several checks on the car. It still came up with no computer error that could have caused her accident/car to stall out. She was going to have to eat all the costs (rental car included) until the tech ran a background on the car's trips into the shop. There had been an inhouse notification for some chip to be updated in the car's system. The original dealership knew of this modification before they had resold the car and did not modify the chip. It came back as a covered item on the warranty because the original dealership dropped the ball. If you have problems with your dealership, go to the competitor for a second opinion. Waiting to hear if the problem occurs again. Nice cars, cost a lot but they are made very cheaply.. Staying with my F150.

    Hey csnyder1,

I read your postings last week about your daughter’s car cutting out. I bought mine last Thursday and with 500 mile on it mine cut out too. My wife was driving it into work, pulled out onto the highway and everything including all electrical went out. As she was coasting along she put it into neutral and it started right up and she continued on her way.

I took it into my dealership and they couldn't duplicate the problem as I expected. I told them about your car and they are very interested on exactly what they did to the "Chip".

Would it be possible for you to reply or email me some information such as Dealership name/location, service managers name ect...?

They are bending over backwards for me to make certain I am a happy customer and I want to be a helpful contented customer.

Any information that you could supply would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance...........Frank

Have had my car since end of July 2005. Over 14K miles. Drove it easy during initial break-in period per the manual.

Absolutely still love this car. Never had a pulling problem. Do my regular oil changes and tire rotations. No pitting on rims. Handles really well at all speeds. Sure you have to drive it differently in the snow. But I always feel safe driving this car.

Only minor stuff - that was fixed this past week - very little squeak coming from closed sunroof going over a bumpy road - when I pushed slightly on the sliding shade, noise would stop. Dealer mentioned there was a service bulletin on noises from sunroof. Dealer had to make some adjustments by removing head liner. Had to go back again because you could see some greasy spots on headliner but now it seems to be perfectly clean and they even got rid of some other smudges( not from dealer)on carpet without me asking them to.

Other weird thing was with the rain sensor wipers. Worked fine for about a yr and then after that time, wipers, only when left in rain sensor mode, would swipe across windshield just by using the turn signal even without any rain on windshield. So they replaced some part, and now it's working good as new.

Only slight disappointment, if you want to call it that, is gas mileage which I know has a lot to do with how I like to drive this car, doesn't match sticker. It's hard for me to want to always start off slow and easy especially when someone thinks they can overtake me. Can do it a lot, but it's difficult to do for a whole tank of gas if you know what I mean because the car is a lot of fun to drive.

I use NAV system regularly and it's excellent. Dealer had been good. I think I was the the first 300C they ever did oil change too and they put in the wrong oil which I didn't realize until I looked at the receipt after I got home. When I called them, they initially argued with me on what was the correct weight, and they finally agreed they were wrong especially when I said " so you don't agree with what's written on the dip stick?(or oil cap)". That part ticked me off but I went back immediately(less than 10 minutes away) and I saw them replaced all the oil and the filter and have that documented.

Have always set up my appts. to include the free loaner that all 2005 300 (C only?) owners are to get even if I just leave it for oil change. It's even written into their brochure. Maybe 2006 cars don't have that. But if you own a 2005, don't pay for rentals!

    I have a 2005 300 Limited purchased in January 2005. We
have only driven this automobile 5,000 miles to date.

Although when purchased the alignment was off-center but the Dealer corrected this problem. A few negatives regarding this automobile are the hard seats and choppy ride. Had these issues been recognized I would not have purchased this automobile. In addition, the abnormal
oil consumption (1 qt per 350 miles)is currently been investigated by the Dealer.

In my opinion, this automobile should be absolutely
flawless for the $30,000 plus price paid.

I believe the Toyota Camry XLE would have been a better
purchase for the money. I purchased a new Camry ten
years ago and drove it coast to coast and the crank
case was still full of oil upon arrival.

Yes, I have had the same whistling noise from the 3.5 engine when it is really cold here in Kentucky. The car seems to be run perfectly fine when it warms up. I haven't thought it a problem, but I could also be wrong.

I replied once to your post about your daughters car cutting out on her. I'm posting again to see if you or anyone else could tell me if they had the same problem, what was done to fix it. My service manager is very interested in know if there is a fix and or what to do about trying to trouble shoot my problem.

    Below is my original request:

    Hello,
Well yesterday I got my car out of the shop again , and this time they put an computer recorder on the car when my car has a problem I just push a butten and it records what the car is doing 30 seconds prior to pushing it and 30 seconds after . I've had to push it 2 times now . They contacted Star the company that makes the car up in Michigan and they gave them some things to try ...they say they have never heard of this problem yet with any others yet and don't know what to do about it .
I talked with the Lemon law ppl and they say it has to be in the shop 6 times for the same or more to quailfy for the law.
A service satisfication rep called me lastnite wanting to rate the service and company , I was not in the moode to give a good report on this whole event just yet .....told her to call back in about a month or so for my true opinion .
Just curious what is the date your car was made? was it on a monday or friday? Mine was manufactured on aug 20,2005 that was a sat. they must have been working overtime to finish a deadline and screwed something up , :confuse: :(
I hope your problems get fixed and Hope all goes well with your wife . Our lives are filled with all kinds of trials and tests . It makes us stronger for life they say . somethings are a bit more then we deserve but we make it somehow .

Please don't take this the wrong way, but why are you spending so much energy on finding out when your car was built? Will that somehow make your problems easier to handle? I've had several issues with my own C, but I've always focused on fixing the problems, rather than wondering about the mental or physical state of the assemblers. Granted, there ARE specific issues which are related to build DATE, but not build DAY of the week.

I bought my 06 car in october 05... I am experiencing a fluttering and shaking problem at a stop light or when the car is idling ever since my purchase... it has been to the dealer 5 times now, plus the air conditioner smells like mildew.. i have complain every time.., last week the dealer installed a co-pilot to monitor this, once i push the button 3 times, i took it back to the dealer.. they called me the same day and said they my RPM'S are normal... and they cant duplicate what i am complaining about.. i am ready to initiate the lemon law.. is anyone else having the same problem ? .. i would like to talk and see what your dealer or service manager is telling you.. i keep telling mine : the problem is , YOU dont know what the problem is , and this is not exceptable for a new car.. plus i paid a premium price for a new car smell, and all i get is a mildew odor.. this is my first chrysler and perhaps my last..

    Hello,
Mine does the same thing took it in 2 times they couldn't find problem so gave me a computer recorder and i'm to push the butten when my car does something strange, My car also when stoped at lite shakes like engine isn't balanced our is not attached straight ? Heck I don't know , I don't have a problem with the smell . but I do know for as smooth as the car runs this "kick" isn't normal as far as I know , I've never had anyother car do this before . It still hesitates upon starting I turn the key and nothing happens for a few seconds ..I travel around Florida a lot and I need something that isn't gona conk out on me.
The dealership has been great so far....had to take my key back was a problem with it buttens wont unlock my doors , or lock the car from a distance like did when I first got it . they replaced it but still is doing problem.
Looks like when I get this thing paid off and traded or something , no more chryslers in my driveway! had family laugh at me for buying one and saying i'm crazey , they say Chrysler has never been a good product. :(

I am having the identical problem with my trans as some of you are having -- the hard shift from 1st to 2nd and bang noise in rear. I've taken it to the dealer for this and was told that everything checked out. Could not duplicate the problem. Was also told if there was a problem that the computer would detect it. If someone finds a solution please share.

    Hello 01wht35,

Did you get your vibration at idle issue resolved? If yes, what was doen to it to resolve the issue? My car still has this problem, I've taken into two different Chrysler dealerships and both have been unable to find a problem (I've taken in a total of 4 times), it seems like my car gets shy when I take it to the doctor as the vibration are intermittent. Anyone out there with the same problem?
  • 19521952 Member Posts: 13
    :D Hello,
I just had a meeting with my service manager and a Chrysler rep,I was experiencing the same intermittent problem, a flutter in the idle and the car shaking at a stop...he sat me in a NEW 300 and it did the exactly the same thing.. he told me it has to do with the emissions and goverment regulations and a fuel mixture.. my husband understood this much better than I and excepted the answer.. the cars runs great other wise.. just a fluttering when sitting at an idle... he told us he could get us into a new car but he thought that we would have the same affect.. he was right.. the new car did it as well.. so off we drove... we have 5 yrs left of payments and extended warranties, so i guess were covered if anything else goes wrong..
we have mildew problem and were getting a new air conditioner .. so I am happy.. the dealership and the rep were both extremely nice.. :D

    Chris,
I also noticed steering was very stiff after I'd left it at the airport for 3 cold days. Had'nt noticed stiff steering otherwise. Had it into the dealer yesterday. Of course it didn't whistle for them (temp is in the 35 - 40F range now) but they diagnosed a faulty steering rack and will change next week.

Not taken the wrong way don't worry , I never would have said anything of this matter if I hadn't heard factory workers talk of it .They admited that at those days were the worst days of assembly and more problems were found and had to be fixed .Just sharing information I've learned .. relevant or not .
I'm not downing the workers in anyway I still have friends and family that work for ford , and GM .

I just bought a 300 Limited in February of 06. I notice after washing the car the rims have some discoloration under the finish which looks like tarnish. I first thought it was tire dressing spinning off the tires after it was driven from the dealership. I used only car wash on the rims, and wax does nothing to remove the discoloration. The dealership used some type of cleaner on the rims which made it a little cleaner but did not remove all the discoloration. Has anyone else had this happen with their 300 Limited rims

    Thanks Brute 300

I own a 06' 300 Touring with a little over 6,000 miles. I was experiencing some problems with a fluttering and shaking at an idle or stop light shortly after the purchase. The dealership down loaded some updated info from an advisory bulletin into my cars computer thinking that would adjust the fluttering and shaking , No such luck( if the car had done this at a test drive, I wouldn't be driving a Chrysler today) .. after numerous trips to the dealer, a co-pilot was installed to monitor the RPM'S, this proved NOTHING... after the 5th visit, a district Chrysler rep was called in.. we voiced our complaints and said this problem isn't exceptable to us... he was very nice and explained that our problem was do to the emissions ( fuel mixture at a stop or idle) regulations set by our government, and assured us our car was sound... he had us sit in a NEW 06" on the lot and it did the very exact thing... so I guess it made some sense?? Hell I dont know, but I have a 5 Year warranty, so I may sell it sooner than expected... ( My first time buying a Chrysler product too)
we were offered a new car, however we refused since the new one did the same and we would lose money again getting into a new vehicle... he did say that Chrysler has this "quirk" because they have to comply with the emissions laws , they can not go in and modify this legally... other wise the car runs great... some mildew smell problems. but that is being taken care.. . I have to give my dealership Kudos for trying... they have bent over backwards for us in trying to resolve this issue... I wish you all the luck.. I have read/ heard worse stories with the 300C's...

Wow, I guess I really don’t understand these posts. I got my 05 Chrysler 300C in August of 2004. Nothing but happiness since then except for the %#%*# Continental tires. No tranny issues, no wind leak, no complaints at all. I’ve got 22.5K on it now and my experience mirrors the long term test at “Automobile” Magazine. Their 7 or 8 months into a full years test and using 12 drivers report no issues.

My 300C goes like hell and gives me a rush whenever I take it out. My Wife usually takes it so I end up with her Camry. It’s a pretty good car except for loosing head gaskets (2) and requiring no-doz because its as boring as driving a toaster. :):):)

    Dear Brute300,
I currently get about 18 miles per gallon.. I am thrilled for you that you have NO idle problems... I think it's a crap shoot then when it comes to this particular problem... cause when I sat in a NEW 300, the idle did the same flutter and shaking motion... the manufactures rep said this is a Chrysler "quirk" ( his words) and it has to do with the emissions regulations...other than the fluttering and shaking at an idle, the car runs and looks great...

I have noticed that my 300c makes a noticeable noise that sounds like it coming from the passenger side rear area only when going over large bumps. Sounds like something is loose. Had it in at the dealer the last 2 days and they can't find anything. They did try but it is a very intermitant problem. Any one else had the same problem and if so what is the fix. Other than that we love it so far.
  • jpitjpit Member Posts: 4
Same Problem. Need to report to Chrysler because they are not standing behind this huge problem. 5-6 cars reported at each dealership on these new cars. Need to get chrysler to stand behind this problem. Contact them so they get the message.
