Carfax says 3,576 miles. Car bought in FLA, now apparently in GA?
I don't think they took a very good shot of that driver seat. The bolster is difficult to discern well for me, because it has that dual-layer white stitching on it, so looks like it might be worn, but maybe that's just the way the light is interacting with the stitching at that angle.
That said, when you're driving a car a quarter mile at a time, 4,000 miles is a lot of trips!

I love the interior details on that Mustang. The back seats alone are just impressively designed! That color, though.... so blah. A car like that needs to have presence, and I feel like the color is working against the car's form.
Funny - that particular color combo really appeals to me!
Is everyone here in agreement that $1,500 under invoice should be my target price on a new Subaru Outback or Forester?
That'd be $400 better than I did, but then again I don't do this very often.
Well, no one has agreed, I think I'd be happy with $1,100 below invoice, as the best I've been quoted is about invoice. I think it will take putting money on the table in person to get them to agree to that though.... make them tell me no and have me walk away....

well, the Sube corporate VIP purchase deal is 2% below invoice, so on a 30K car that is onlyt $600. I would think if you can get $1k off invoice you are solid. anything more is gravy.
@andres3 - very hard to say. Would $1,500 below invoice be a great price? Yes. It all depends on how the market is there in Southern California. It is the beginning of the year, so I'm not sure if the dealership would be motivated enough to sell you a car so cheap.
I say test the market. See whAt dealers will quote you over email. If you email 3 or 4 dealers and they all come back with $500 under invoice, then maybe you can get to $1,000 under, but not $1,500.
The cars cost the dealers the same amount.

Guess I was lucky with my eBay purchase as it is in new shape. Turns on and see things perfectly. Real test will be tomorrow when I go back to the AT&T store and have them put a new nano sim card in and see how things go. But if it works anything like the swiftness with which the seller sent it to me, think I'll be just fine. Mailed Saturday morning at 10:22 a m and got to my door by Monday around 2:25 p m. Signature confirmation was used for my protection and it worked. Like when people are honest and are true to their word. I won the auction about 5:45 Friday afternoon and she had the payment through PayPal by 5:55. Linked my account with PayPal and they did the rest after a few punches on my keyboard...very easy peasy transaction! Like I was telling a co-worker today, the two greatest things in the 20th century were the automobile and the internet and the devices we use on it. It's just mind boggling what one can do with a smartphone, tablet or computer now, it's that immediate gratification that human beings just love and live for. We all work hard to provide for our lifestyles and families so it's nice when we can "reward" ourselves with things that bring us joy whether it be a new electronic toy, or a cruise, a new car...whatever brings joy to someone. Those "rewards" bring our lives such infinite joy most times and that's what life's all about, trying to get through all the "stuff" and being happy and healthy at the end of the day! Man, I sure feel motivated right now, motivated to do almost anything!!!

Was back at the Nissan dealer this afternoon and saw the white drop top 135i, still on the showroom floor just calling to me. Went in and sat in it and boom, a sales guy is right there telling me how good I look in it! Has just over 21K n the clock and their asking $27,300 right now. White over chestnut, the top was down and under the boot so have no clue what color the top is. But hell, like the hardtop coupe so much better, just looks cleaner and a real looker! My timing is just off here it seems and I wonder what would've happened back in November 2013 when I first saw my first 128i white coupe at the BMW dealer, the one with the dead battery in the showroom. If it had started right up, and I did take it for a spin, could that have been sitting in my garage right now? Of all the 1 Series vehicles I've seen, that was the best of the bunch. But did learn a valuable lesson which I used when I pulled the trigger on the Golf just over two years ago...when I see something that's just so good, something I really want and can afford without thinking about it, just do it and do not question it. Be happy with it and just go forward. Sometimes in life, the more we think and think and rethink about something, the better chance that we don't just, do it. All that going back and forth in our heads is just foolish and stupid, because sometimes in life, we know that making that yes decision is the right choice. And in the future, we end up regretting the choice we didn't make. And that's where I am tonight, regretting that I didn't make them throw a battery into it, or go back later in the day or week and give it another shot. Another missed opportunity that's now gone. And I hope I never ever do that again, next time...just go with your gut!!!

Keep in mind that this is Q4 for Japanese companies, so often there are very good deals to be had the closer you get to March 31. So, sure, shoot for the moon, and, if that doesn't work out, then maybe "settle" for a deal like @cdnpinhead made.
I paid $300 under invoice for our 2010 Forester, and I was so thrilled at that! I still saved $2,500 (net) from having bought one locally.

Stick, gonna need your help again. Remember you told me what part to order from Amazon.com so I could charge my android phone in the Golf, it has a connector for the iPod, probably similar to what your Jetta has. Hopefully tomorrow, my new iPhone 6s Plus will work perfectly but in order to use bluetooth, I'll need another connector but instead of the usb-b port on the other end, will need the other end to connect to the new iPhone 6s Plus. Not sure what Apple calls the connector for my iPhone but think it changed with the new iPhone 7. I'll give a look see on Amazon.com but if you can, just shoot me what you bought for the Jetta so I don't order the wrong part. The last two items I bought I had to send back and do not want to repeat that with this small item. Thanks in advance for your help here, it is greatly appreciated. It's funny, but the first smartphone I got back in February of 2013 was an android one because the Radio Shack guy said it would be the easier between an android or an iPhone. I trusted the sales guy and went with the android phone even though my kid later said I should of gone with the iPhone 3. Back then, phones were subsidized and I paid $1.00 for it but had to make a 2 year contract. Now, as we all know, the opposite is true and we now have to pay for the phones. Think I prefer the old way to be honest because the newest and best units are pretty pricey and most want those units. Again, thanks for any help here.

@sandman_6472 Apples port is called a "Lightning connector ". They are sold practically everywhere. They are also a little more expensive than your typical micro USB.
Regarding Foresters, what I learned is that CO sells them for significantly less money than AZ dealers are prepared to. It'll be interesting to see how SoCal fits in; it's not as if every third car is a Subaru there. In CO, especially up in the mountains they're everywhere.
Sandy, your phone should have come with a lightning connector (USB on one end like your current cable). You can use that in your current adapter in the car, or pick up a spare (a good idea) at any store (Target, Walmart).
Hopefully tomorrow, my new iPhone 6s Plus will work perfectly but in order to use bluetooth, I'll need another connector but instead of the usb-b port on the other end, will need the other end to connect to the new iPhone 6s Plus.
I'm not sure why you would need any kind of connector to use Bluetooth? Every phone I've ever set it up with does it wirelessly, which is kind of the point.
AB, the Golf (and my jetta) does have bluetooth, but also has a wired aux connection which I prefer, and Sandy uses. The problem is, instead of a normal these days USB outlet in the car, it is a proprietary plug with a small cable. I forget what the end of that has (type of plug) but you need an extension cord from that to your phone. Sandy got one for his android, now needs the same thing just with a lightning plug on the end.
I think without the XT 2.0 Turbo in the Forester, or the 3.6 6-cylinder in the Outback, they become rather boring cars. Still comfortable nice cars, but boring to drive. AWD deserves a good engine.

So Subaru is doing 0.0% financing until the end of the month. Is this one of those "forever" sales, or a limited time thing for Subaru?
My last auto loan came in at 1.49%. Running a loan calculator, that makes the 0.0% financing perhaps worth about a $1,000 over 48 months on an Outback (longest term for 0.0%).
Should I adjust my goal to $300 below invoice instead of $1,300 below because of that incentive?

I agree - the base 2.5L is just adequately powered.
So I checked out my dealer's online inventory. They list most 6cyl Outbacks with a discount of a little more than $2,200 which is pretty much invoice. I'm sure $500 under invoice is attainable and $1,000 under invoice is doable if you push. Walk in at the end of the month with your $1,500 under invoice number & your excellent credit and you'll most likely drive home in a new Outback.
Just for kicks, I made some quick calculations for you based off of a 2017 Outback 3.6R Touring they have on their lot using their internet price (invoice) as a selling price:
MSRP - $39,979 Capitalized Cost - $37,756 Money Factor - .00055 (1.32%) Residual Value - 60% (15K miles per year)
I came up with a pre-tax payment of $416.43. Tax by me (6.35%) comes out to $26.45. $442.88 payment on an almost $40K car looks pretty good.
If you are opposed to leasing, you can always finance at 0% for 60 months. Your payment (including 6.35% sales tax) would be $669.23.

I'm not entirely opposed to a lease, and I love 60% residual after 45K miles; that's huge! But if we go 6 cylinder Outback we'd go without all the eyesight and navigation fluff, and get one that stickers for around $36,000 - 36,500. One out of about every 20 3.6R Limited's is equipped that way

Senior moment there folks. Bluetooth works fine but it's that 30 prong or whatever cord VW gave us for our iPods to work. Since I keep blowing a fuse using the lighter, I got an adapter from Amazon that Stick showed me where it connected to the VW thing and had a micro-usb port on the other so I could charge my android without blowing a fuse. Today, we hooked up my new iPhone and need the same kind of cable but with a "lightning tip" at the other end. Being tech challenged, sometimes I just use the wrong word. Just need a lightning tab at one end and a iPod tip for the other to plug into what VW supplied. Hell, for 2016, VW fixed this nonsense with a proper usb port plus an aux connection, no clue why they waited to year two of a new model! Dumb [non-permissible content removed] move on VW's part. Also, no push button start. These things I really wanted to but wasn't worth trading in for a '16 Golf as the depreciation was crazy. So Stick, if you see what I need on Amazon, give me a holler!

In my experience people at every phone company are awful at Apple products. Much better to go to nearest Apple Store. They can get you set up with any of the companies and transfer all your data. Even from an Android phone. There's no charge.
