High range trade in is $43,760 and payoff is $42716 so most likely a wash. I was expecting it to be much worse.

I forgot to mention this, but last Wednesday night I dropped my Jeep off at the dealership to have them take care of the recall, the service bulletin, oil change, tire rotation, the electrical connection that unsoldered itself so the rear defroster doesn't function, and to have them put in a warranty claim for the Gorilla Glass. I dropped it off because they told me they needed it for a few days. I figured it was a good time to do so because my 14 year old son had a hockey tournament in Lake Placid, NY. They called me at 12:30 pm to tell me they are just taking a look at the car. Said theyd take care of everything, but "I don't understand what you mean by file a warranty claim with Gorilla Glass. You have to go through your insurance company for that." So I'll have to try to get that resolved somewhere else. Anyway, they called back late in the afternoon and said it was ready. So I got it back with everything taken care of as well as a new rear flip up glass window.

Love my Apple watch. I’m addicted to closing my rings! Got it for Christmas in ‘19 and never had an issue with it not displaying time. I turn my wrist towards me and it pops up. Seems simple.

I’ve got a really nice TAG in a drawer that I never wear but just can’t bring myself to sell. It was a reward to myself for a nice bonus one year. After other more responsible stuff and the rest of the fam was taken care of first of course.

My watches charge by simply wearing them. Of course, all they do is tell the time and date (and, some , chronograph).
    Now, get off my lawn!

(Full disclosure, I have two Apple watches; one died as the back of the case mysteriously shattered. A shame, it was a beauty)

    Smart watches don't interest me.

I'm slowly building a collection; like cars, I've always had a thing for watches.
    I need more wrists.

    Seiko (45 years, graduation gift!)
    Tag Heuer (29 years)
IWC (22 years old, may have died, so replaced with the Hamilton)
    Omega (19 years)
Shinola (4 years, souvenir from Aruba)
Baume & Mercier (2 years, in memory of my late father)
    Hamilton (new!)
Invictas! (Because I'm addicted to the ShopHQ watch show. Some big, ugly stuff. And, nice to have a couple of throw/donate aways)

And, I've bought a few as gifts for relatives.

Currently intrigued by Tudor, Omega Speedmaster and, as an independent Swiss brand, Oris (got a free Oris hat and coffee mug at the last Greenwich Concourse I attended, so I feel I should buy an Oris)

Kids are talking numbers with a dealer.
The Escape they went to look at first, sold yesterday.
It had a 3 cylinder, so it would not have been my first choice.
I found a Titanium model close by so they looked at that one and are taking it to the next step.

dealer by me seemed to have a decent supply on the lot of escapes and Bronco sports back in January when I got my oil changed (which in retrospect, I should not have bothered to do!)

I don't think I could convince myself to get the 3 pot engine. I would spend the extra and stick with the 2.0t. That was nice in my Maverick.

Agree, the 2.0T is a great powertrain. Not sure how it's bundled on the Escape, I know on the Bronco Sport you have to belly up to a trim level that's $40k+, if I recall.

It's a top of the line Titanium model(has 2.0) and papers are supposedly being signed.
They tried to knock 3K off the trade for a damaged rear bumper cover and a fender scrape.
Son in law called me to ask if I thought the repair # was too high.
I told him it was. Then I looked up and texted him the price for the factory bumper cover, $580.

In 2015 I was looking at a CPO Mustang GT at Andy Mohr Ford outside Indy. The UCM valued my trade at 75% of auction price due to “scratches on the rear bumper.” The “scratches” were In actually strings of chewing gum that had been been thrown up by the rear wheels. We walked. Later that day the lady in charge of internet sales emailed me wanting to accept my initial offer and offering to deliver the car to my house. I told her that once someone tries to screw me it’s Game Over.

Escape has more 2nd row room than the Bronco Sport because the 2nd row seat can slide back.
My son in law could not fit a car seat in the 2nd row of a Bronco Sport with the front seat where he needed it to be.

Well…speaking of Fords. It would seem our current Bronco order will likely slip into 2024 and thus not be a Heritage Edition, so I decided to do a similar search like last year. Wouldn’t you know it, found another dealer in the midwest with a unit in inventory happy to sell at sticker…

My wife was surprisingly attached to her Bronco and when we traded it, it was with the knowledge that we had another one on order. So it was at least in the cards to get another one at some point.

We do like the 2 door proportions. We wanted the hardtop (which comes standard on the 2 door). And we were missing the “mid package” on the first one, which comes with niceties such as keyless access, heated seats, BLIS, etc. This one has that and the V6 is a bonus.

All the cool kids around here have a Bronco now. I see three of them in the parking lot outside of my building nearly every day.
