Price seems a little steep, but it is a 1 owner car with under 100K miles and isn’t a curbstoner. Pictures aren’t great. It is in a nice part of NJ.

I would be curious what they came up with for the Maverick. Plus, there should be 2 different numbers for that one. Customer orders (tend to be at MSRP) and walk in to buy something from stock (usually a lot more).

That’s the problem. Any savings off sticker is almost negated by a sky high interest rate to finance or as a money factor on a lease.

I notice a lot of 2022s on that list. I assume that’s for new cars not used so is 10% off an almost 2 year old car really a discount?

Bradd, these days, that might be a bargain. Nice cars at least. and if as described (one owner with records) that is worth a premium.

I don't recall is that is a T Belt or T Chain. If belt, probably due for it unless it was changed at some point. I think the 4 cyl was a chain at that point.

the other thing missing that I would want a kid to have is a backup camera. Though that can be retrofitted (ask Driver, I think he is the expert). Though I need to dig up pictures to refresh myself on what the head unit looks like! Nicest to replace that and get car play, etc. at the same time.

@stickguy - I thought the EB Mav had an eight speed auto and not ten, but I could be wrong. It’s impressive that the hybrid powertrain is more refined, the 2.0T isn’t bad at all and just makes a gentle whir that isn’t obnoxious during moderate acceleration, similar to other 2.0T engines I’ve driven… My VW GLI was similar after I disconnected the “soundaktor” fake engine noise generator. Now, that thing was obnoxious.

I far prefer the Maverick’s automatic to the DSG in my parents’ Q5. That thing took forever to find the right gear. The Ford is only occasionally wrong, but also quicker to make corrections.

The 2.0 in the Mav has an 8 speed trans. Same powertrain in my wife's Corsair.
So far, average is just over 26 mpg in local driving.
It's going on it's first road trip at the end of the week, basically Cleveland OH to Madison WI and back.
Among other things, I thought I'd be a 3rd wheel, so I'm not going.
Should be some good Mom and Daughter time together.

8 sounds right. it had a lot. It was a typical AT, wanting to upshift quick and stay there.

From the Car Wizard's latest video. Shout out to Volvo for putting the number of gallons remaining on the analog gas gauge on the OG 850 instead of tick marks for 1/8 or 1/4 of a tank.

Honda went to timing chains when they debuted the K24 engine in the 2003 Accord, so yes, that TSX is a chain. Hard to believe they still run a belt on the V6 twenty years later.

Yeah, I was shocked when Honda announced yet another generation of the V6 at all, let alone that it still has a belt. This has to be the last generation in their mainstream cars before they are all either EV, hybrid 4, or forced induction 4, right?

well, @tifighter ... I see it is a ranking of % off MSRP. What time period? Does that include factory incentives? I would think so since no way there is 15% markup. I wonder if any manufacturer-to-customer incentives are in there.

There’s actually one with 75,000 miles on Long Island. They are asking $12K for it. That’s way too much.

the blue one, with the recent big service, if it is as clean mechanically as it sounds should not cost much to put into service. that has value, instead of buying a neglected $6k flip and having an immediate $3k in repairs needed.

I will say the 1st gen TSX is still one of my favorite cars. perfect size, drives great, wonderful seats. Built very well. maintain them and could last forever.

I never understood Ford’s choice to put a sound tube on their cars (even a 5.0 Mustang) rather than just obtain a good sound with exhaust. The OEM exhaust on my car was also so wimpy that I tore that off as soon as I could.

The V6 was available in the 2nd gen. I had one as a loaner once. Once the tires hooked up, it was a lot of fun.

All 4cyl Hondas at that point were chain driven. Were the TSX automatic transmissions the same ones like the Accords/Odysseys/TL of that generation that were made of glass? Or were just V6 models prone to failure?

Generally, just the V-6s. We did have a transmission go out on an '01 Accord, but that may have been related to a fairly serious accident, about 6 months previous.

People make fun of Carvana but they must sell. I still monitor the maverick market. They typically have 25-30 lariats at a time. Right now 29 and 7 of them in purchase in progress status.

Prices have come down a little at least. Not sure if that translated yet to buy offers!

They make fun of them because they are losing money, hand over fist. For an "online" retailer, they have huge real estate fixed costs. And, the family that controls them (8% of stock, 88% of voting stock) basically loots the company by forcing them to use their other affiliated businesses.

Sirius/XM renewal, today. Last year, paid $72+tax/fees for one year (about $90). Renewal notice is for $23.05/mo.

Called in, followed the prompts, told the agent I wanted to renew for a year at the same rate as last year. Checking... yes, $72 + etc.. = $92.13 for one year.

Total time on phone: 7 minutes, 37 seconds.

That’s probably how much time I usually spend but I’ve never clocked it like you did. I do the yearly dance for both cars and get the previous years rate. I can’t imagine there are very many folks who pay the full boat rate of 300 plus bucks.

While I like SiriusXM, I think I’d start singing to myself before paying full boat.

I gave up on SXM in the Outback a few years ago; we simply don't spend enough time in the car to warrant the cost.

I'll just plug my phone in and listen to the 4500 songs I have loaded onto it.

I have a calendar event in my phone for next week to do that on the Acura. Ford has 3 months free so in august will be dealing with that one.

I remember when I got my ‘09 Genny SiriusXM was free for a year. Then 6 months when I got my ‘15 Genny. So, now it seems like it is free for only 3 months. The car manufacturers have found another way to cut costs. Of course they’ve always been good at that.

I think I mentioned it before but we abandoned Sirius XM for Apple Music. $156 a year, but I can listen to pretty much any album or genre on demand. I can ask Siri while driving to pay X song, etc.

Can also create custom playlists as well. Well worth the cost to me

When I inquired what that meant, as I was just having an oil change and filter, they said they “didn’t know” and “everyone does it”. Needless to say, I reflected my opinion of that on their survey.

FWIW, I would have insisted that they give me the reason before I paid the bill. You’ll still have to pay it but you’d at least hear their excuse…”like shop supplies”.

As an Amazon Prime member, I get periodic reminders that I haven’t taken advantage of one of the included benefits, that being Amazon Music. I haven’t bothered to check it out. Apparently it is something like Spotify.

We get all that same stuff with Amazon Music for under $100/yr. Only thing is it won’t play on more than one device at a time. I’d imagine there is an upgrade but it doesn’t happen often enough to worry about it, and I just use free Pandora in those cases.

SXM makes no sense to me. More commercials than the free Pandora and less control over the songs.

I have been paying for XM on my parents' Q5 for a while now and need to cancel since they don't drive that vehicle much. Kept the subscription after I got the Maverick, thinking I'd use the XM streaming app, but I haven't. I just download and listen to podcasts.

I listen to XM quite a bit in the C43 and Clubman, as does my wife in her X1.

Listen in the Golf but also in the house on my iPad and iPhone. Sure, I could listen to my own music of another free service if I wanted to but just enjoy Sirius/XM and don't mind the yearly cost to have it. We have it in both vehicles and love it.
