I filled up the 4xe on the way home and was pleasantly surprised to see it is averaging 50.2 mpg.

That is interesting... I would think the proportion of people who plug in regularly is pretty high. Nobody likes paying for gasoline, and if charging at home, by comparison, EV miles are almost free in terms of fuel cost. But, if we're counting "days plugged in," the data might be skewed. I did not charge the Volt last night nor tonight, and still have 29 miles of EV range. I'll probably plug in Thursday night.

my wife surprised me the other day. we were out walking and went by a current style Ridgeline, and she commented that it was nice looking, and did not seem too big. Sounded like the OK to go get one. Though I am not sure what I would do with it.

if the absurd values on Mavericks were still out there, and the local dealer with the very good lease deal on the Ridgeline still had some, converting the current 2 cars into a nice used 2 series convertible and a loaded Ridgeline lease, with a lot of cash into the bank to pay for the new house, could make a lot of sense! Just with an awful lot of moving parts. Not the least of which is finding the convertible (the other parts are actually pretty simple!)

BMW has lost me as well. The new designs, the subscription stuff, the shift away from performance and the value for what you pay just aren't there for me anymore.

Watching @roadburner turn on BMW is not something I had on my 2020’s bingo card.

But, on Sunday I did a BMW drive event , so I can’t be trusted either.

I didn’t turn on BMW; BMW turned on me. Every time I drive the Club Sport or recall how well the M235i drove and performed I am just disappointed with the current styling, the interior ergonomics and the overall driving experience of most all of their cars. As one BMW CCA member I know put it, “The Ultimate Driving Machine has left the building.”

I love how the M240 drives but it certainly feels like the F22/F23 is the last of its kind.

My only complaint is I have a trim rattle near the driver side convertible latch that I need to figure out. Of course despite the cold in Seattle I’ve just been driving with the top down to solve the problem.

Yikes, that's expensive! I've had good luck with the Samsungs I bought when I bought this house in 2015. Hopefully, you can get away replacing only the washing machine. My mother has always demanded a matching washer and dryer at my parents' house.

Ouch. That's the sad state of appliances nowadays. Regardless of their initial expense, if anything goes wrong with one, it's basically a throwaway unless you want to DIY. I've already had to tear apart both my washer and dryer (new in 2016), and I'm sure the issues they had would have sent them to the landfill (or someone's yard, more likely around here) by now. I had to replace the electronics and a bearing on the back of the washing machine, and the heating unit on the dryer. It needs rollers replaced on it now, though I just tend to live with that because they usually quiet down once the machine warms up.

Thats funny/interesting/ironic. We went through 2 Samsung front loaders that ended up with issues just like @nyccarguy is experiencing with the repair bill and within the same timeframe. We went back to a Maytag top loader and have had no issues in 6 years.

We had horrible luck with our Samsung washer and dryer. After a little over 6 years, the pump developed a crack in the washer, flooding the laundry room. And guess what, the part was no longer available! Yes, a new matching washer/dryer set was purchased, Whirlpool Cabrio. They haven't been perfect, but far less troublesome than the Samsung set. The Whirlpools are now 7 or 8 years old.

We still need to purchase the WD set for the new house. Might do that through lowes if the appliance store doing the kitchen isn’t as cheap. No clue yet what we will get. Other than it will be a top load washer.
