I am interested in leasing an F-Type (Base Model), dealer locally said $499 or $529 for 36/12 or 36/15. I mentioned about waiting potentially for the 2018 model and he said there will most likely not be a deal close as good to this one right now. Is that true or is it him just trying to get me to lease it?

Speaking of, any info as to when the 2018 model will be released? I assumed in March?

No clue as to when the 2018 model will come out.
But, he is probably right that the deals won't be as good for the 2018 models, at least not any time soon.

Obviously no one can speak with certainty on what will happen with 2018 deals, but I'd wager they won't be immediately motivated to try to make great deals on them, given that sales will likely continue to be strong for the F Type, especially for this new refreshed round (400hp!).

That being said - I'd agree with your salesman. The lease deal on the Base Coupe is one of the best I've seen in researching/executing half a dozen leases in the last few years. I believe that they intentionally created the 2017 base model with financing in mind - that's why you can't option it out at all. It helped the bank control the residual. Which is an insanely high 70% for 36mo. Just got one last week and leased through US Bank with the following deal:

    MSRP $64,295
    Negotiated Price $61,995
    36mo / 10,000 miles
    MF .0012
    Residual 70%
    Total OTD Fees $1,460.31
    Monthly payment $618.33 + 7% TN tax ($661)

That's a ridiculous monthly payment for a $64,000 Jaguar F-Type if you ask me.

Never trust a salesman.  There will always be deals as long as the sun is in the sky.  IIRC the previous model years of the ftype have all eventually dropped in lease price as the model comes to the end of the year, especially the base.  There was $10k on the hood of '16 models as 2017 came in to shift them.

The 2018 car has to have back up camera as standard to meet regulations, and will also sport a new infotainment system as standard.  Also the design is due a tweak in about a year - so if you can hold out another year then maybe you could get a good deal on a better spec'd car.

You're correct that the 2016 F-Types recently had (still have) a huge amount of dealer cash and ended up being $8k-14k off MSRP. Problem is that the lease financing numbers were/are terrible, and the very low residual offsets the discount from MSRP, so much so that the 2017 base F-Types were still cheaper per month than the heavily discounted 2016 models. This is why we ended up with a 2017 base model last week.

    I don't see a "Premium" trim level.

If "Premium" = "Base" in Jaguar-speak, the numbers are:

    66% and .00246 / .00247 for 36/15 or 39/15

    Add 2% for 12K

There should be a premium trim level - it is definitely different MF/res than the base. It goes Base, Premium, then "S", then "R"

    You are correct (naturally)

Kindly advise MF and residual for a 2017 Jaguar F-Type convertible with a manual transmission. The list price is $ 67,010 and the location is New York.

Also - a 2018 F-type ordered today has an estimated delivery date (from my dealer) of June 10th. The dealers have pricing. Premium model is gone, but there are now dozens of options for the base model. For example, the glass roof and 770 watt audio system are now standard on the 2017 Premium, both are optional on the 2018 base. Thus, the 2018 models are about the same price - or less expensive depending on your option selections.
