I'm sitting on the following offer for a 2017 X4 M40i and I'd like your opinion on that.
MSRP $68995 (Driver Assistant, Lighting, Tech, 20'' wheel, ACC, AppleCar, RearView Camera) Selling Price $64855 - according to dealer this is invoice, my calculations show invoice slightly lower but it's an agreeable number for me.
Corporate Fleet Discount - $1500 off selling and .0002 off mf
36 months/10k 0 down 7 MSDS
$6,564 drive off ($5250 as deposit) $706.50 monthly (including taxes)
My calculation have slightly different numbers: $6914.98 drive off - of which $4600 are the 7 MSDs, $1405 are upfront fees, ~$254.19 is taxes on corporate discount $655.79 is monthly including taxes
I also ran the numbers on leasehackr and I get the following:
What do you guys think?
It's possible he was running higher mileage on his front.

Assuming .00085 MF (with 7 MSDs), and 64% residual, your prices give me $668/mo before tax. 6% tax added onto that is $708/mo, so pretty close to the dealer quote.

Michael, I have read your comments and they are very helpful indeed. I want to lease a X4M40i and can put down the maximum security deposit (7 is the no. I guess). Given the RV of 64% and MF of .00134 for 36m/10000, what do you think will be the price/month without tax I have currently have a lease on 335i which is due to finish in 4 months

State Illinois, tax rate is 7%. Illinois only changes taxes on monthly payments from 2015 (thankfully) Do you work for a dealership? If so what do you think r the available options (apologies if you dont, as I m unsure how this edmunds forum works--but very intrigued with your level of activity). I got a quote for about $6200 sale price on Msrp 66,000 and change.. does that help for you to give me some calcs

Here's what I was offered today in NJ (7% sales tax)
2017 X4 28i
MSRP $58,270 (M-Sport, Metallic Paint, Drvr Asst, Drvr Asst Plus, Tech, HK & Heated Fr Seats) Negotiated Value to $53,800 (7.67% off) Cap Cost Reduction: $2105 (I know you guys are not advocates of this) MF .00134
36mo/15K yr Monthly Payment: $615
Due at signing: $4500
The numbers looked good at face value but when I re-ran them at home I'm now getting $605 for the monthly payment. If I increase the negotiated price in my calculator to $54,100 (7.15% off msrp, still a good discount) it then puts me at $615.

I assume the remainder of the $4500 is for taxes, fees and registration? I would get a full breakdown from the dealer.
And, ask them for the adjusted cap cost - and how they arrived at that number from the negotiated value.
Thank you for all the great information!

As you've noted, NJ taxes the sum of the payments and collects the money up front. You can choose to pay it at lease inception or add it to the cap cost (which, makes it subject to rent charge). I get $607/mo if I add the tax to the cap cost.
