Michael, I have read your comments and they are very helpful indeed. I want to lease a X4M40i and can put down the maximum security deposit (7 is the no. I guess). Given the RV of 64% and MF of .00134 for 36m/10000, what do you think will be the price/month without tax
I have currently have a lease on 335i which is due to finish in 4 months

State Illinois, tax rate is 7%. Illinois only changes taxes on monthly payments from 2015 (thankfully)
Do you work for a dealership? If so what do you think r the available options (apologies if you dont, as I m unsure how this edmunds forum works--but very intrigued with your level of activity). I got a quote for about $6200 sale price on Msrp 66,000 and change.. does that help for you to give me some calcs

As you've noted, NJ taxes the sum of the payments and collects the money up front. You can choose to pay it at lease inception or add it to the cap cost (which, makes it subject to rent charge). I get $607/mo if I add the tax to the cap cost.

The final price came in just under TMV but not sure if I bought it down or their discount was the factor. Definately my last leased car, just dont have the cash to dish out right now with 2 kids in private college!

(you should ask for a breakdown)
The rest of the $3000 ($1420) is CAP reduction
