So here is what I'm looking at your opinion would be greatly appreciated to see if you think numbers add up and if you think this is a good deal on a dealer demo MSRP $65845 Dealer discount $12,000 Sale price $53845 2k down (not cap cost reduction) 36month @10k/year = $634.28/mo Good deal?

I get $506/mo with those numbers, before tax.

I would confirm the adjusted cap cost with the dealer. And, the breakdown of the $2K up front money.

And, what state and tax rate is this?

I'm in the process of getting that information but could you recalculate with a MF .00146? The dealer claims that's the best they could do. Is it common practice to be able to negotiate that down despite the dealers claim of being the "best" rate?

You politely but firmly tell them that you won't sign a deal with an inflated MF. They know what the base rate is.

There are a lot of MB dealers there ... only takes one to make a deal on your terms.

I'm new to the leasing "game" and your info and site has helped me immensely. The Internet sales manager said "the only time they offer a base rate like that is on advertised vehicle and says the best he can do is .00146". Is his claim "true" or is his tactic part of the game. I haven't sent my firm but polite message that if he can't cut that MF then I'll have to take my business elsewhere. Thanks again I really appreciate your help! 
*side note: I'm working on getting MF and residuals on the ghibli lease for you

Got the break down on the lease mentioned above. The selling price is $53,845 + $1,095 Bank Acquisition Fee + $249.95 Safeguard.  This brings your total cap to $55,189.95. 

 

The breakdown of the $2,000 cash is: 

651.73 First Payment

708.39 Cap reduction

59.13 Sales Tax

500.75 DMV

80.00 Documentation Fee

$2,000 Total required

So, not only are they marking up the MF, they are marking up the acquisition fee, too. Base rate for that is $795 from MB.

Time to find another dealer, methinks.
