Going by the window alone, I don't see anything but a Falcon:

I’ll claim the 55 and 57 Fords on the hill. The second Renault is next to the 57 Ford.

I think you're right. I didn't look at enough Falcon pics...

    That’s one nice looking Falcon!

It doesn't look like a Falcon to me.

@andys120 - are you referring to the mystery pic? I think there's a shadow across the rear fender from the roof that make it look like the fender curves, when it doesn't.
  • imidazol97imidazol97 Member Posts: 27,681
I think you're right. That's what fooled me. There may be some lens distortion too making the fender look like it curves down a little at the rear end as well. I think Fintail got it.

The mystery car / Falcon is on the left of the red convertible? Still having trouble seeing the Falcon there...

Seeing the pic it could be a Falcon.

It's weird. I spent a lot of time riding in (before license) and driving (after license) a '60 Falcon, and there is nothing in that picture that allows me to say either that it is or is not.

Let's leave Las Vegas and head for the very well-kept Riviera in Palm Springs CA in the early '60s. Really looking forward to catching the Harmonica Masters act!

Stude hawk in the back lot, with side door obscured by a palm tree.

and is that about a 60 Ford on the far right, can only see the passenger side headlights?

Hi everyone. It has been weeks. Could not sign in. So frustrating. Had to make up a new user name. Anyway......
Before we leave Las Vegas, let's not forget the 1954 Chrysler next to the 1951 Chevy.

62 Ford wagon parked at the curb, assume a Country Sedan. Car at far right is a 59 Ford.

    Welcome back!

Also I believe directly above that is another Chrysler up on the hill partly obscured, maybe a '59?

1960 Ford Starliner in front of the Ford pickup. 60’s Fairlane on right.

    Lookin' atcha on the left a '67 Olds, a ?, and a '64 Chevy.

I gotta grab the early-mid '60s Volvo 122. One of those was the first of several Volvos I owned and enjoyed.

Looks like a mid-60s Caddy peeking out from behind that blue Olds. The yellow cab on the right is a circa '67 Ford. In front of it, a '65/'66 Pontiac.

Surprising lack of foreign cars given the locale.

Looks like another 67 Ford behind the Volvo.

From what I read those were nice cars that drove really well. I could never war up to the up kick of the rear trunk area. It looks like someone rear ended it, looks awkward. Otherwise it is a clean, nice looking boxy design.

The 164 model was much better looking, IMO. The basic look translated better to a wider car.

Nope, but the 164 and Lancia Thema were related to the 9000.

I recall the Milano had trim variants like "Gold" and "Verde".

Photo is of a Milano Verde Yes which is an odd descriptive for a car that is painted Rosso (Red).

Let's return to Vegas in the late '50s with this snapshot of Bob and Carol and Ted, taken by Alice behind the camera, on a weekend getaway at the Tropicana. What's that car they're standing by? (click to enlarge)

I’ll take the 60 Thunderbird on the left.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,460
Old car in the pic looks like a 40 Dodge, an oldie then. Could Bob and Carol and Ted be beside an Opel Rekord?
  • Lostwrench3Lostwrench3 Member Posts: 823
And, next to the '60 Thunderbird, a '51 Olds.
  • ab348ab348 Member Posts: 20,318
An Olds convertible between the mystery Rekord(?) and the old Dodge, maybe a '55 or '56.

The Mustang is probably a '65 since most '66s didn't have the bar in the grille (depending on trim and options, a few '66s did have it.). The Olds is a '61 or '62 98. No clue what the little box next to it is.

another Mustang next to the black beetle. I wonder if the white box is a Hillman? Or a Crosley?

some sort of Plymouth up the hill from the Bug, and up near the top, a black '61ish Mercury sedan with the back cut rear window.

The 62 Olds 88 4dr hardtop, first car on right, is the same color as my grandmother’s 62 88 sedan. It was the first car she bought on her own after my grandfather passed. She traded a 56 Buick Special for it. The Olds was a nice step up as it had PS, PB and AC.
