Yakima WA, Christmas season 1967, should zoom OK (some family members could possibly be in this pic):

The Ford Fairlane is a 1962. I can't see any 1960 Fords in the picture.

Is that a 1963 Chevrolet in the traffic behind the VW Beetle? What is
the newest vehicle in the picture?

No, I see '64 and '65 Chevies. However, this picture was taken in late '67, and I don't see anything newer than '65. Anyone else?

Car at lower left is a Camaro or Firebird.

Chevy behind the Beetle looks like a 64.

I found a clearer version of the pic (appears to include a 60 Ford), zooms better:

Behind a Chevy II there's a VW Beetle and a '62 big Chevy followed by a VW Karmann-Ghia.

'51 or '52 Plymouth with replaced LF fender.
I wish the nose badge was more visible.

Yep, appears to be a Starliner.

New version of the Yakima picture is much better, thanks. I was dubious of the 1967 date until I saw the wagon on the right edge which looks to be a GM A-body from '68, so that date is possible.

Anyone else see a bumper jack and a wheel missing?

Yakima must be at least late 66 with the Camaro/Firebird (and maybe another 2 behind the 59 Ford at left), and I think maybe a 67 GM could be in the mix parked on the street at right under the "Dunbar Jewelers" sign. My dad was in Yakima then, that year he had a new 67 Galaxie. My mom was in either a 59 Ford or 61 Impala, as I think she got her Beetle in 1970.

I don't immediately spot a jacked up/no wheel car, the breezeway Mercury in that mix at right could be sitting odd, but maybe just an illusion.

    Willys CJ-3A, '48 or later?
  • Lostwrench3Lostwrench3 Member Posts: 823
That front suspension and 3 sectors area under the window combination would be 1949 - 1953.

    It's mis-labeled as a 1946 Willys CJ-2A on Jakopnik but every CJ-2A I've seen has a two-piece windshield.
It could be that the windshield had been replaced by one from a later version, or that someone is pulling a scam. The item has been removed from Jalopnik.

Yeah, the single piece windshield is why I went with CJ-3A. But 70 years later, who knows how many parts have been swapped out?
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670

jeeps are tough because there were so many variatons that looked the same. I know a guy that has a Korean War era M38A. It looks exactly like A CJ-3A

@fintail --Some kind of Chrysler-badged Lancia.

Yes, as part of the Chrysler-Fiat set up a number of Fiat products were also badged as Chryslers and in fact there were Chryslers badged as Fiats too. This is a Chrysler Delta.
In Britain, at the same time, Fiat group was just abandoning the Lancia name as it had never recovered from the Lancia Beta rusting problem but they were marketing it in the rest of Europe - not least in Italy of course - and the Lancia Delta was selling well in France and Spain too .
It was a good car, and they decided that rather than miss out the UK altogether they would sell it as a Chrysler Delta - we also got the Chrysler Ypsilon as well
I was sorry that it went that way - it really looked a good car

Chrysler should have sold the 300 version of the Magnum in the US. They could have upgraded it a bit to justify it being a Chrysler. I like the look of it better than the Magnum.

I'm pretty sure the Buick on left is a 1953 Roadmaster, maybe a Riviera.

Yeah, car with the Beetle gives me an Aussie vibe too, but I can't place it. Truck is a ~50 Chevy "Advance Design".

Fiat 600 Multipla (the original Minivan?) white/grey on left. What looks like a '55Chevy out front. is too small so it must be an Opel (Kapitan?Diplomat?).
