I took my driver's license test in a '74 Caddy, like that bronze one, only ours was a sedan. The farthest I'd ever driven that car before the test, was the four miles to the test site.
Looks like VW still owned the import market. Guess I will pick off the Pinto behind then then-new squarebody pickup with canopy in the background area.
Yup, the black/silver C1 is a late 50s car. There's a red Healey 3000 (Mk.II?) up front) next to a black example.
Car on the right can't be a Dauphine cuz it appears to have front grillework. Hillman Minx perhaps (very popular back then).
Good eye on that Porsche Speedster, I thought it was a 356A cab but you can make out what appears to be a Speedster windsheld frame. A couple of Lark wagons up front, I think the pickup in back is a Chevy /GMC 3100-.
I lived a couple of towns east of North Country motors at that time. IIRC it was on NY25A/Northern Blvd. the main drage of LI's North Shore.
The Studebaker dealer imports include the two cars bracketing the shot - red/white beyond the Porsche and grey to the extreme right. They are what we knew as Standard Tens but I think they were sold there as Triumph TR10s or some such.
Over at theoldmotor.com they think the open sports car next to the Porsche is a Singer Sports, a prewar design that was produced in the UK from 1939-55. Very few were sent to the US so I suspect it is more likely an MG-TD
Lots of '57 Chevys! White/tan BelAir 4 door in the foreground. Between the Edsel and the two-tone Olds you can make out the hood of another that is either light blue or white and way back you can see a white/yellow one on the right. You'd never know Ford outsold Chevy that year (don't ask me why).
There is another 57 Chevy taxi, which can be seen through the car in the foreground. Also, 2 57 Plymouths, metalic blue and a yellow taxi behind the right rear of that car and a 57 Ford to the left rear of it.

I had an uncle who had a Standard Ten - he had it from new in about 1956 and it was still running until about 1975. He never had any trouble with it other than usual servicing. Never took it very far - possibly never left Wales in it although I'm not sure about that. He reckoned he had driven enough in the war (he was driving an army truck right across North Africa and subsequently also across France right into Germany).
Don't know what happened to that little Standard as he died after I left Wales so sort of lost touch with that branch of family.

I think blue mustang is a 67 GT. White early BMW 2002 or 1600 next row.
Far pumps, nose if I think a very early white land cruiser.

It looks like a Pontiac with the two bands of chrome on the hood.

Car pulling in at far left, barely visible, makes me think of a ~50 Chrysler, something Mopar and larger anyway.
