Driving towards the photographer, 55 Chevy, 60 or so Corvair and a two tone Fintail.

I want to say that the Corvair is a '61based on what I can make out as the hood badge. Of course, that could be nostalgia, since I owned a '61 just like it (white four-door. It even had a four-speed stick, which was fairly rare in four-doors). Man that car was fun. Unfortunately the driver of a tank truck, who I am sure couldn't see me, tried to merge into the gap I was occupying. I managed to get out of his way, but it shook me badly enough that I sold it and bought a Volvo, Probably the right decision, but I still miss that car.

Yes, the Sunbeam Talbot is I think the Alpine version (shades of Grace Kelly and Cary Grant)

More surprisingly there is a smaller Brit further back on the nearside lane - is that an Austin A35? I don't think its a Morris Minor.

I'm thinking the two tone car is a 55-56 Mopar with a blurry grille. The two headlight fintails (W110) were a fresh launch in 61, maybe too new for this pic, and were seldom-seen in two tone.

I was thinking maybe something obscure and Italian, but Austin makes sense, we did get them in small numbers. Looks like a toy car beside Christine with the big Caddy bearing down on it.

According to the caption on the original photo, it’s the Hollywood Freeway, numbered the 101.

I see a 58 Cadillac in the right hand approaching lane and a Triumph TR10 (!) (Standard 10 Companion) which was of course unknown here by that name.

Those statues or props, as you call them, are the animatronic characters for the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland.

Well, it's a 1961 Chrysler but as to the model, because of the harbor background, I'll go with a Newport.

Yup, it's a 1961 Chrysler Newport. There was a time when Chryslers had names derived from the Eastern US (New Yorker/Saratoga/ Newport). Nowadays everything has names from out west (Tucson/Santa Fe/Denali/Tahoe)

Tough resolution but the car 2nd from R facing the building is maybe a Colt hardtop coupe.

looks like a Colt. my BIL had one of them. Next to a Volare/Aspen. and on the far end is a Valiant/Dart 4 door.

Yep, I could have posted several Mopars from '61, but that's my 'favorite'. GM and Ford didn't get the invite to that party.

Its a Corona Mark II. We had a 72 that looked very similar and I believe the same color as that one but hard to tell.
