The Volkswagen Santana (second generation Passat) was produced in Brazil until 2006 and is still produced in China at the Shanghai Volkswagen plant.

Looks like a late 80s Subaru Justy 4WD. I think they're one of the first cars that had a CVT tranny.

Right, sorta, the Jusaty was the first car for sale in the US to have a CVT but they were offered in Europe by DAF in the '60s where they used the trade name "Variomatic" for the CVT, also known as the Van Doorne transmission after it's inventors , the brothers who founded DAF.

You got it for the name. The year is 1957. The 1958 was a little more glitzy on the backup lights and rear.

:D That sort of wood-flanked cars were called 'rubias' (blondies) over here. Don't ask me why. :surprise:

But I'm sorry, I don't know the brand nor the model of that particular 'rubia'.

Probably because of the light-colored wood that outlines the woodwork.

Nope, it's related to the Corolla (same E Platform) and is sold as a Corolla in Australia and NZ. It replaced the Corolla Liftback in Europe, where it's produced in Turkey and the UK. Anybody know the Euro-market name?

Corolla Verso? That's what the wagon variants used to be called.

Edit: IIRC it's the Blade this time around. I like this one myself.

    LOL, Blade Master G

Sounds like it's named to appeal to rappers.

    No, no and no.

Toyota revealed the Toyota Blade Master G 3.5 liter V6 version of the Auris on the Japanese market. The Toyota Blade Master G is targeting the Volkswagen Golf and it is expected to also be launched in Europe.

The car shown is the downmarket version of the Blade, known as the Toyota Auris (note different nose).

According to this the Verso was a Yaris based MPV.

  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,675
Yep, it's a Pino, essentially a rebadged Suzuki Alto. Apparently rebadging is rampant in the Kei class.

    You're pretty close, it's a Fuelie 283 all right, in a '58 Chevy DelRay.

    image

Back before "Muscle Cars" came along the hot factory set up was the low end two-door coupe with the biggest motor, hooked up to a four-on-the floor like this DelRay (which was the low end Chevy before the Biscayne)

I was referred to this Forum, hope it's the right sub-area! I've posted some photos in www.carspace.com/sharonlpk/albums/bumper that show/describe the pieces I am trying to identify -- related to damage sustained by my Windstar in an office building parking lot . Thanks in advance for any help you can provide :)

You're in the right place. We'll see what we can do.

(I refered this reader here to see if we have any takers on identifying the hit and run bumper). I think it might be tougher than it looks. :surprise:

Ok, so let's narrow it down.

If the dent on this reader's Windstar van was above the bumer line, then the vehicle that hit her must have been either a SUV, pick up truck, or another van.

I think we can rule out most newer high end SUVs or minivans as they have body colored painted bumpers.

As for pikcup trucks, we can assume it was a base model, or a "work" type of truck.

The age could be anywhere from new to 10-20 years old but because of the platic's condition (very clean, out and underneath, I would guess it was newer rather than older.

Ok, give me a few days, I'll work on it and figure it out. ;) Unless omeone else solves this mystery.

That is a beautiful 1959 Chevrolet. Is Biscayne the stripped model for that year? Then this is one below that!;) It looks really stripped.

  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,675
I'll leave it to you to decide if a '59 Chevy can be beautiful but it certainly is well preserved, right down to the "Bubblegum Machine" on the roof. IIRC the Biscayne was the stripper model for Chevy that year. I think it's odd that a Cop car would be a two-door, it was probably a Highway Patrol Unit.

The Blue and Orange was unique to the Nassau County (NY) Police Dept, it comes from the heraldic colors of the Dutch royal family of Orange and Nassau after which the County was named.

"Beautiful" was tongue-in-cheek. The 59 red convertible I posted is beautiful; the sedans weren't.

  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,675
Beautiful is not a word I would apply to any '59 Chevy, it was the worst year ever for Chevy styling IMO, even the awful '60s looked (a little) better.

Now that I think of it '59 anythings were pretty awful. The exception would be this car>
