As I recall, Doc Baker had a sporty little 2-seat buggy. Pretty spiffy, considering most of his patients paid him with chickens and feed! Maybe he was selling morphine on the side?

Even back in those days though, they had their pride and status symbols. I actually remember an episode where Charles traded their oxen for a team of horses, and made a comment to his wife that now she could hold her head up proud when they drove into church on Sunday!

The Pulsar reminded me of this car. No cheating on this one. These are the only pictures I could find on this vehicle. There were two other bodystyles, one of which was a squareback style like the Pulsar.

I think back in the old days there was something flashy or special about having yellow painted wheels, too. Doc Baker's little roadster had them, I think.

The taillights have a "Mirada" feel to them.

The flat floor suggests FWD, even though the wheels are deep-dish.

The year HAS to be 1980-81 (hairstyle helps here, too :P )

Yeah, unfortunately the computer here at work still identifies those direct links as naughty. I've also been informed that I've been terminated for trying to look at them, clean out my desk, turn in my badges, and be off the premises in 30 minutes. :shades:

Now that I see the pics of the thing though, it looks like it could have served as the inspiration for what became the Ford EXP. I also see a bit of Omni 024 / Horizon TC-3 in it.

I have to go back and find the magazine that featured this car because I don't recall if it was FWD or RWD. The overhang at the front make me think it's FWD. And the more I look at this car, I wish I could get one.

It's a 1976 Ford Prima concept car. It may have been based on the Ford Fiesta.

I forget that concept cars' styling cues are always a few years ahead of what will hit the showrooms.

It would be interesting to know the torsional rigidity of a unibody car like that with a HUGE hatch AND a tailgate :P

So, is the woman in the photo related to Mustang Sally?......... and is her name then Prima Donna? :P

I think by this time it was called the Honcho. My uncle had a '76 and it still had round headlights, so that one's newer than that. I dunno what year they went to rectangular headlights....trucks seemed to do it later than cars. Maybe 1979 or 1980?

There is a '64 Jeep pickup in my community (I know, because his tags are 64 JEEP). Really nice looking and looks more modern than what you would think for the year... Just a little rust problem on the tailgate..

I'm not sure if it is a Honcho, the Honcho was a trim package based on the J-10 Pickup. Hemmings captioned it as a 1983 Jeep J-10 and I don't see
any evidence of the rather elaborate Honcho markings like this>

Yes, that interior is factory stock AFAIK. It's not a Facel but you're getting warm.

I have a Corgi model of one of these - and I think it was called ( on the model ) the Ghia L6.4 - they must have made about ten cars, but Corgi probably made thousands of models, as they were the first to have everything working - ie opening bonnet, boot, both doors, working suspension, detailed (for 1965) engine, even a dog on the back window sill - a Corgi, naturally.

That is correct, 1963 MY, MoPar 383 power like many F-Vs. It is known to many as the second gen Dual-Ghia but according to Sports Car Market Magazine only the prototype wore the Dual-Ghia badge. They were quite rare, only 26 were made.

If I were GM I'd put that in US showrooms as fast as I could get 'em in there. The time is right for a great-looking little truck. Chevy Montana/Tornado is correct, via GM do Brasil.

andys120, I just saw these on a cruise in Jamaica, Grand Cayman Island, and on Cozumel Island. They are good looking, practical, and they should be sold over here like yesterday. The other reader is correct , they are based on the Chevy Corsa platform, but I failed to remember the name.

Speaking of fuel-efficient cars, all three of these islands sported a variety of fuel efficient SUV's, minivans, trucks, sedans, none of which are available over here, but looked desirable to my eyes.

They have been dealing with high fuel prices and a lack of room for years, and it shows it ........

DAF sold well in the UK - almost all models were available with RHD. I saw a DAF 33 last week.
