Well done boomchek, for a near-comprehensive answer and to fintail for the Megane and VW. I think there is also a VW new Beetle beyond the CR-V and there is a black Ford Fiesta (with skirts, so it is probably an SRi) beyond the Land Rover....

It is indeed an Austin Westminster A110, and the -B suffix inndicates 1964. I think the wheels which were, I believe branded 'Rostyle' may be from a Rover P6, which would bea few years younger with such wheels....

The wheels actually remind me of the styled steel wheels off the Mustang II and Pinto, circa '77...

We drove around in one while we lived in Italy. Here's my mom sitting behind the wheel. Because we came from communist Poland and were used to driving [non-permissible content removed] boxes, the Alfa seemed fast to us.

Actually I'm not surprised so here's a couple of hints:

-It was made by a small British maker that existed only from 1946-56. Most of their cars were Formula 3, hillclimb or pure race cars with a total production of perhaps a few hundred.
-The pictured unit was one of perhaps a few dozen made for street and track use..

At first sight I thought this was some sort of Ashley Sportiva, mainly because of the rear roofline and side windows, but the dates don't add up, and I didn't think they made F3 cars etc...
Is it some sort of Kieft ?
EDIT - I just realised - it's a Buckler Ninety (?)

I have no idea what either a Buckley 90 or an Ashley Sportiva is but the mystery blue coupe is a 1954 H.W.M. Abecassis Coupe.

Yeah, I can't really narrow it down any further than 1981-84. The '81 got a facelift/skin job that gave it quad headlights and also improved aerodynamics 15% compared to the 1978-80, and for 1985-87, they changed the grille slightly, giving it a slightly less "shovel-nose".

Yes the Series 3 Appias (1959-63) changed from the old-fashioned narrow upright grille to a more modern rectangular grille which worked surprisingly well with the somewhat dated styling.

Well, the white stock car is a 1959 Pontiac, the black one is a 1958 Pontiac, the truck is a contemporary Ford cab-over. Not sure what the race car is other than a front-engined Indy race car.

Since they're low-line 2-door sedans, I guess the '59 is a Catalina and the '58 is a Cheiftain? I think that style of Ford cabover first came out for 1957, but I'm not sure. I remember seeing a 1957 fire engine of that style at a car show in the early 90's, and was shocked when I found out what year it was! I guess mainly because it was kinda boxy, that style just didn't seem to age. Plus, they were on the roads for a long, long time, it just seemed like they were always around.

You're right on the nose, Andre the '59 is a Catalina and the '58 is a Chieftain. You can see how 1959 was the year that big sedans stretched out to the proportions similar to today's big sedans, distinctly squarer, longer, lower and wider wider than the '58s which aren't proportioned much differently than 1940's models.

The Indy Roadster is a Pontiac engined Kurtis.

Andre, I can assure you those Ford cab-overs weren't always around. I don't recall seeing any back in the day when they were still using chain-drive Macks. :P

Oops...I just noticed that the Catalina actually IS a hardtop, and not a 2-door sedan. I guess the roll bar inside threw me off.

It is amazing though, how quickly the styles changed back then. There's a huge difference between that '59 and '58, but I always thought the difference between the '58 and '57 was pretty radical too. I think that '59 is a really good looking car. It escaped most of the styling carnage that was so stereotypical of that year. I guess the tailfins were a bit much, though. Most cars were fine with just two, but Pontiac had go up the ante, with four!

Oh, '59 was a watershed year for GM cars. The entire line changed; Chevy, Olds, Buick, and Cadillac changed in exactly the same way as Pontiac that year. Definite future shock for those of us interested in cars at that time.

When I was a kid there was a fleet of chain-drive Mack Cement Trucks still running around the NYC area. They were all painted a kelly green with gold trim and I believe dated back to the teens; IIRC, the company name was 'Sam Braen". What a sound they made! With the weight and distinctive chain-drive noise you could hear them coming from 2 blocks away! Maybe one of you tecnically advanced posters could find a pic and post...

I lived in Astoria Queens until I was 7 and I think I can recall those green cement trucks and others that delivered ice or (would you believe) coal. I couldn't find any pix of cement mixers but this is close>

Thanks for the pic andys -- that looks kind of like what I remember (of course except for the rust). Back whern I was a little shaver I used to spend time at my grandma's in the Bronx - her house was on a pretty busy street (White Plains Rd.), and I used to check out all the passing cars - I even used to keep a survey on how many of each make to see what were the most popular! Good practice for this forum...

I cannot recognize neither the taxi cab nor the barchetta model. I believe the car on the right with Roma registration plate is a 1400, may be the 'B' model.

The barchetta is an Innocenti C.
Inevitably the taxi is a Fiat - I think an 1100.
And the white car facing away is a Lancia Appia - the squared off rear lights make it a 3rd series, current from 1959...

The Barchetta is indeed an Innocenti, IMDB identifies it as a 950S, essentially a rebodied Sprite with a bigger motor

The taxi is no doubt a Fiat 1100.

I could only find one shot of a Series 3 Appia from behind>



I'm not sure it's the same as the white car with the ROma plate. Could it be a Pug 403?>

I'm sticking with the Lancia. It looks different because of the shape of the number plate. The 403 is a larger car and a more familiar one.. The car behind it, nearer the camera, appears to be a Fiat 600, and that would look tiny behind a 403.

Mopar comes out with some nice designs - too bad they are all built like crap. Things like the Stealth and the Daytona were real exciting when they came out. Yet it only took about 5 years for them to look like the cheap pieces of junk they were. Too bad.

I agree with you on good Mopar designs, but actually the Dodge Stealth was a rebadged and mildly restyled Mitsubishi 3000GT.........

It's definitely a Lancia, perhaps late 80's or early 90s and likely modified based on the headlights and that most un-Italian Rasberry Red paint. I'd guess it's based on the Lancia Gamma>



The silver car behind it is a Lancia Beta Spider, mid-late 70's.

The hot pink/red car is not a Qvale Mangusta.

It is a Lancia, you guys are on the right track, but it's not a high number production car.....
