    1966 Dodge Dart.

    If that was a guess it was a darn good one, it's a '66 Dart /273 V8.

Appears to have an "A" registration, so that makes it around 1984 - around the end of the run for that design.

    It's a 1983 Ford Granada 2.8 Estate.

Is that tire smoke or exhaust smoke? Looks like a little opposite lock going on there, to me..

Nash ca. 1946 - it really does have a GM look to it
  • magnettemagnette Member Posts: 4,234
1947 Nash Ambassador - I think the term for this was a trunk sedan to distinguish it from the Slipstream sedan, which was a fast back. I believe the 46 model was very similar, but this one has a slightly wider central grille...

Back in the early eighties I used to work with a chap who in his spare time was restoring Alfas. He left our firm, and a few years late I met him, driving a Lancia Gamma coupe - last I heard he is still involved with the British owners club for them. We also had the saloon version sold here, although that was rarer. I think they are more or less extinct now, as people scrapped them to get parts for the more desirable coupe...
  • magnettemagnette Member Posts: 4,234
I think Ford made a version of the Ford Anglia W7, as a tourer, in Britain before WW2, but it wasn't the same as this, as it had the earlier grille, and even less power - it was a development of the old Y-type.. After the war, only the Australian market got tourers, based on the car we knew as the E494A Anglia, which was launched here, with this grille, for the 1949 season...I have seen a couple of them, imported from Australia, I suppose.

Lancia Beta Montecarlo, sold in the US as the Lancia Scorpion because of fears that it might be confused with the Chevy Monte Carlo. . .

Whose fears those were, it is not recorded.

I think that's the car Herbie fell in love with in France.

Interesting car. I believe that the Ranch Wagon was the bottom trim level (equivalent to a Mainline sedan), but this one is trimmed like a Customline sedan. Was the side trim an option?

I suspect it was an option. It's not the trim on the Custom Ranch Wagon -- it's full length, isn't it.

  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,675
I think there might have been a trim level below that since I recall a '56 Ford wagon that had even less trim that belong to my buddy's folks.

That one has the 312 CID motor from the T-Bird, note emblem on from of fender.

I believe that's the 292 cid motor which was the T-Bird motor. The wagon with NO trim was the Ranch Wagon. That one says Ranch Wagon on the side. The Custom Ranch Wagon had a full length trim along the side.

I had a 56 Ford Fairlane with that T-bird engine for all of one summer. I really liked it but my dad sold it at the end of that summer. He only wanted to make sure that with a couple of kids driving that he always had a car to jump into and figured once summer was over he didn't have to worry about it. Turned out later he was wring but what the heck.

    Holden Monaro, ca. early 90s?

Right car, wrong decade. The big black coupe is a 1972 Holden HQ Monaro.

Any takers on the little red "orphan" sedan?
  • magnettemagnette Member Posts: 4,234
Well, it looks like a Vauxhall Viva HB, which would be about 1970, but it has a different grille. My first thought was a Holden (Torano ?) but it is left hand drive, so I doubt that. Also this looks LHD, and I doubt any Holdens were built LHD. Is this some sort of GM South America derivative, using the Holden or possibly Vauxhall shell?
  • stephen987stephen987 Member Posts: 1,994
Very good thinking, but not quite. It's GM, but not South America or Australia, and yes, it's LHD.
  • wgraferwgrafer Member Posts: 592
"Orphan" looks strangely similar to a 1970 Toyota Corona I once had, but the grille is wrong. Maybe a slightly later year???
  • stephen987stephen987 Member Posts: 1,994
    Not a Toyota, nope.
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,675
I doubt any Holdens were built LHD.

Lots of Holdens are sold in the Middle East where LHD is prevalent. I imagine the same is true of Indonesia.

Did they sell the Vauxhall Viva HB as a Pontiac - perhaps in Canada ?

EDIT - my other line of thought is that it might be sent to you as some sort of Isuzu, although this is more of a wild guess at this point...

It looks like that of a 1960 Mercury, but I don't recall what Mercury called their wagons back then. Did they call their top of the line wagon a Colony Park back then?
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,675
Attaboy Lemko, it's from a 1960 Mercury Commuter (wagon).

Excellent thinking, and as close as we're going to get on this one. It's a 1969 Envoy Epic, a Vauxhall Viva sold in Canada by Chevrolet and Oldsmobile dealers.

I know I sometimes just spew wild guesses....I hope I'm not doing it this time:
    Late 60's, early 70's Lancia Fulvia. It's a V-4.

Uh oh...I'm having second thoughts...I saw one of these Lancias years ago. That engine placement is the strangest sight. But I can't remember if the carbs were sidedraft on that car...I can't see the other cylinder bank. Ah man, you guys are gonna kick me off this board
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,675
Can't kick you off the board if your WAGs are right! It is a Lancia V4 as installed in a FWD 1971 Lancia Fulvia Zagato. No doubt those big sidedraft Webers are replacements for the original equipment. If you look at the picture carefully (and upside down) you can see part of the "Lancia" script in the far valve cover.
