That's the VW Type 4-based Puma built in Brazil during the 1970s. I saw quite a few when I went to Rio de Janeiro in 1976

Sorry, Andy. Right idea (VW-based sport coupe), but that one's a VW SP2. The "SP" stood for Sao Paulo, but some called it "sem potencia" (without power).

    Here's the Puma:

    Doh!

I should've got that, I saw the Puma in Rio as well. IIRC the SP2 was built in house by VW but the Puma was an independent effort using VW components

That's the new Polo, may be sold here, it should give Ford's Fiesta some competition.

Sounds great to me! With the Polo and the Fiesta, plus the Fit and Versa, maybe we'll see that segment of the market taken seriously for a change. (and please please please bring us a TDI version).

It's Simca 1100 from the early 70s judging by the look sof the bumpers.

The rear shape reminds me of the Zastava 1100 we used to own, but that car was based off the Fiat 128.

    Zastava rear:

The earlier Kaiser Vagabond was similar.

Yup. The Traveler was the base model. The Vagabond was nicer, with a polished wood floor.

This is small on the monitor at work, but I'll have a go - not too good with these though as they are all from the rear...

Nearest - Dodge -Polara(?), say about 1962...

White wagon - Ford Falcon, maybe about the same age.
the big car in the distance, partially out of shot - Imperial, circa 1959/60?
THe roof tops to the right. - one of them is a GM sedan of about 1959/60 - I assumed a Chevrolet Belair, but I don't know.
THen there is a Rambler (hardly surprising given the anme over the dealer..- not sure of the exact model, but about 1959.
Finally, in the far distance there isa wagon - I'm guessing another Rambler, but I can't be sure -

Good job Magnette, you got most of 'em but the Imperial, like most of the cars in the photo appears to be a '62>

The Falcon wagon appears to be a '60 or '61 (the '62 had slightly different tail lights). The Rambler is indeed a '58 or '59.

There was a British car in the 60's. It was a sedan and had a female name. I was talking to a friend and neither of us can remember what it is/was. I was initilally thinking ELisabeth but thats definately not it. Your suggestions are appreciateed!!

Nope, not a Fiat, but Pininfarina was responsible for designing the interior.

The Austin Princess was made at that time...kind of a female name.

That's not a British sedan from the 60s or 70s, no wood on the dash, looks more Italian or French. By the same token it's too well instrumented to be German, oddly
they've always been skimpy on that ( 911s excepted).

I can't place it, how 'bout another pic.

Oh, you're good at this, fintail. The car is a 1977 IKA/Renault Torino GTX Coupe. Rather handsome, considering that it was already a decade-old design (based on a '66 Rambler American Rogue).
