Salmson S4E Cabriolet of the same epoque would get L4 cyl, 2300 cc, 85 hp at 3400 rpm, 1350kg, 135 km/h max. There is a nice pic of one of these in the Tampa Bay Automobile Museum at

But magnette may be correct in identifying it as a Tata instead.
Better get to it before Magnette does, he'll also tell us what country that plate is from. :P

More like a 1978 Ford Fairmont Futura. The caption doesn't say whether it's a Futura but with that dorky roofline it'd have to be.
The white over red Ford is certainly a '61and the formal roofline says it's a Galaxy.

The Futura was a comparatively upscale model, as demonstrated by the fact that it shared its roofline with a much more expensive model:
Of course, the Futura still had the lousy non-adjustable seats as the rest of the Fairmont line, and offered the same range of powertrains: 88hp Pinto four, 85hp 3.3L six, or 131hp 5.0 V8. By 1980 there was also a turbo version of the Pinto engine, offered with automatic only.
Do you suppose there are any left on the road today? One of those with a newer (hotter) 5.0 and some Mustang suspension upgrades would be a nice sleeper, and it would certainly be a more modern drive than the '77 T-bird.

That's my problem with it Stephen, it's a pretend Thunderbird. Detroit had a bad habit in those days of slathering it's ordinary cars with visual cues connoting "luxury". The 1970s was the high water mark of these kitschy faux-luxury but ordinary cars with their padded roofs, upright hood ornaments opera windows and lights..YUK! :lemon:
FWIW that Fairmont is not too extreme compared to many.

Personally, I don't mind that "basket handle" roofline, either, which was meant to evoke memories of those old 1955-56 Ford Crown Victoria hardtops.
In 1984-85, the small LTD, which was basically a tarted up Fairmont, could be ordered in LX form, which came with a relatively hot 165 hp 302 V-8. It was a pretty decent performer for its time, but I think they only made around 3500.
