Hmmm, I think the opposite, the 3P has a rather heavy look in the back caused by the third door/hatch and those fussy triple rear lights don't help.

OTOH the hatch much improves the utility of the little car.

    3P=tre posti(3 doors)

Ah well, to each his own. I remember sitting in one as a child. The back seat was too cramped and dark even for an eight year old.

Still, a lovely little car, full of character and spirit and unfortunately cheap Russian steel, just like Lancias of the day. Can't be many of them left.

Ya, that's the "ad" I was referring to. I'll take it down since it's beyond the edit window time.

    Please try again Andy.

How about a '72ish Iso Rivolta Lele, styled by Gandini? Those 'eyelids' reminded me of the Montreal, and the trail began there...
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,675
Good job Tex, it is indeed a 1972 Iso Rivolta Lele

That's right Bumpy, it's a Datsun PL520 Pickup, sold in the US as the Datsun 1200.

It shared sheet metal and probably mechanicals with the Bluebird 310..

Something about the C-pillar says "Daihatsu" to me, but I can't think of a specific model.

1967 Plymouth Barracuda (looks like a '68 but I don't see any side marker lights).

But I can tell you that the tires are 2X4 Redwood All Weather

Good eye, Grafer, it is a 1967 Plymouth Barracuda

That's a good one Shiftright! I have just gone thru a bunch of NSU and Zaporozhets
pictures and can't find a match. It's definitely rear-engine based on that big intake over the rear wheel.

Maybe it's a cheapo Communist copy of a Renault 8 like this Dacia>

Actually it looks like a '70s Skoda 1100 to me.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,576
    Yeah I think it's a Skoda.

    What's with those tires?
  • Mr_ShiftrightMr_Shiftright Member Posts: 64,481
Ah you know, hard times in those commie countries I guess. But the Dutch wore wooden shoes, so......

Maybe a different angle and a gaudy paint job will help?

Ah, maybe from Albania...that figures. Good research, bump! I used to enjoy spreading the rumor that old MG engines were made of wood--but tended to overheat.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
At first glance I thought it had regular tires with one of those fabric-style covers for snow driving.

    That's actually lumber! :D
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
    Oh my...

The rear hatch reminds me of the Fuego from the 80s, would it be a Renault of some sort?
  • boomchekboomchek Member Posts: 5,516
The taxi looks like an Opel or Vauxhall of some sorts from the 90s. Looks like it's delivering tires for that Skoda :P

    I was thinking Holden.
  • bumpybumpy Member Posts: 4,425
Our mystery buggy is the early-'90s N14 Nissan Pulsar.
  • Mr_ShiftrightMr_Shiftright Member Posts: 64,481
I don't know WTH it is, except that the custom bodywork wasn't too good.

    Yeah, I was thinking Opel.

    TR-7

a truly fine automobile, by anyones standards. I mean, look at the fitment of the passenger side door! Just remember to quadruple your head gasket.

I almost bought one of these about 10 years back. IIRC, it was a 1980 Spyder model (trim package, in snazzy black). Actually in real nice shape, and drove well.

Probably a reason though that the owner was only asking about $2,500 (maybe 2K).

  • lemkolemko Member Posts: 15,261
    Yup, it's a TR-7. This one is a 1980 model.

My brother wanted one of these really bad when he was a kid and I remember him having an ad for it taped to the wall of our bedroom.
