    Hi all,

    I've got a configured 335xi as such:

    -Montego Blue premium paint
    -Auto transmission
    -comfort access
    -park distance control
    -active cruise
    -heated steering wheel
    -heated seats
    -sat radio
    -navigation
    -(premium package)

Reason I put premium package in parenthesis is now that I review the sheet, the guy forgot to add its price in. So, with destination, the guy priced the following:

    36mo lease, 15k mi/yr, $0 down, $707/mo.

He said that there's room to work there when I finalize the deal. How much room should there be? What do you think I should be getting before I sign and drive? Not sure of the money factor or residual, didn't get that far I guess.

Lastly, any dealers here that can tell me if BMW offers a corporate discount for KPMG (my employer)? We're the auditors, so I know other companies offer us some discounts, but I forgot to ask when at the dealership.

    Car man,

Just got back from BMW dealership in NY.

I looked at the 328ix coupe, black on black, premium package, cold weather package
After giving me a price of $3050 down and $529 a month, he quickly came down to $2933 down and $499 a month. 36 months/10,000 miles

The rate was .00190 which I wanted to know if that was their current rate? Also can you tell me the residual based on this information and if it is all correct? I really liked this deal over the Audi A5 but refused to sign anything until I got final word from here. Does anybody have past experience with a recent lease with similar terms?

    Thanks so much guys
  • jamesa4jamesa4 Member Posts: 22
    That is a crap deal.
  • jamesa4jamesa4 Member Posts: 22
Not enough info, but looks like a bad deal. Why not use security deposits instead of down payments? You get that money back at lease end and it lowers the payment just like money down.
  • usmarinecorpsusmarinecorps Member Posts: 16
well, sorry didn't specify: BMW 328xi premium package, cold weather package

$0 down, taxes and fee's up front are $2933

so we are left with 10,000 miles a year, 36 month lease
payments are $499 a month given to me at the .00190 and I forgot to take down the residual.

Still looking like a bad deal? 3 years ago, my last lease, numbers were never this high, but I have almost come to accept this.

If not can anyone figure out what sort of deal this should be hovering around? First time at the bmw dealership, really an Audi guy.
  • usmarinecorpsusmarinecorps Member Posts: 16
Is the cold weather package a $750 option? That was the number it was looked at.

Can I get the current lease rates for a 328xi coupe, 36 months, 10k/year. thanks

Also guys, what do you think about this deal.

    BMW 328xi coupe, 36 months, 10k/year
    options: automatic, navigation, premium

    MSRP: $44,900 $2900 out of pocket, $485 a month

Current residual, 65%, money factor .00160.

Is this all on par, any suggestions for a better deal? thanks

    Hi CarMan.
I got the deal today for 2011 335i sedan and have a few questions..

MSRP: 47275 (Premium pkg, auto, heated front seat, harman kardon, ipod)
Sell: 44500(not sure exactly but should close to 44500) + Tax+Lic+Acqusition.

First month payment: $983 (first month + license +title)
    $590/m

My first question is... is this a good deal? at least ok deal?
and the second question is... I already have signed and made a deposit of $983(first month fee)... in case this is not a great deal at all, do I still have chance to get away from this deal without losing the deposit?
  • zorahadiczorahadic Member Posts: 4
i did not put enough information, the tax rate is 7.375 and the lease was for 10k/yr

    Hi Car Man--

Can you please provide October's buy rate money factor and residual value (%) for a 36 month lease on a 2011 M3 Sedan with 10,000 miles per year.

Also, is it common for the dealerships to add basis points on the buy rate. What is consider fair and competitive?

Thank you in advance for your response.

Hi christopher99. BMW Financial Services' current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2011 M3 Sedan with 10,000 miles per year are .00150 and 55%, respectively.

Hi charlie516. The money factor that you were quoted looks great. It's right in line with BMW Financial Services' current buy rate for this model. The dealer is however marking up your car's acquisition fee by $200, FWIW.

Now let's take a look at this car's selling price. The vehicle that you are interested in probably has a spread of around $3,500 between its full MSRP and its dealer invoice price. The $2,300 dealer discount that you were quoted probably puts you at around $1,200 over invoice, which isn't terrible considering that this is a 2011 model and the fact that the dealer is not marking up your money factor. If you are in an area that has a decent level of competition, you may be able to find a dealer who is willing to shave a couple hundred dollars off of this car's price.

    Here you go, ctsoxfan2.

BMW Financial Services' current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2011 335i Convertible with 12,000 miles per year are .00180 and 63%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top credit tiers.

Hi zorahadic. The car that you're interested in probably has a spread of around $3,700 or so between its full MSRP and its dealer invoice price. That puts the selling price that you negotiated at around $1,000 over invoice. There might be a couple hundred dollars to play with here, but this deal isn't bad.

Just make sure that the dealer uses BMW Financial Services' October buy rate lease money factor of .00145 to calculate your payment and you're in business.

I'm glad that you've found this site so helpful, nick016.

The money factor that you were quoted looks a little high to me. BMW Financial Services' current buy rate for a 36 month lease of a 2011 328i xDrive Sedan is .00125 for consumers who qualify for its top credit tiers. Try to get the dealer to use that factor to calculate your car's payment.

As far as this car's selling price goes, there is probably around a $3,200 spread between its full MSRP and its dealer invoice price. The $2,300 dealer discount that you were quoted probably puts you at around $900 or so over invoice. That's not bad, as long as the dealer is using the buy rate money factor.

Yes, BMW dealers try to mark up BMW FS' buy rates all the time. If I was in the market for a BMW, I personally would try to get them to use the buy rate to calculate my payment and see what happens.

I just move from Florida to Western Canada with my 335i, and will be facing my first winter. I know that winter tires is a must, but the local BMW dealer is asking $3200 for the winter package!! (tires, alloy wheels, TPM, etc). I check tirerack.com, and see where I can get a simillar package for $1100 less with either Blizzak LM-25 RFT or Pirelli Winter 210 Sottozero RFT (I'm not sure which is better), but the rims are not original BMW rims. Do you guys think the BMW package is necessary and worth the extra coin? Thanks very much for your opinions.

    No. Get them from tirerack

Hi Carman. Can you give me the money factor on a 2011 335i XDrive Sedan? Two different BMW dealers have given me two different rates, both of which I suspect are higher than the BMW buy rate.

Hi sfshopper. The easiest way to evaluate this lease would be to look at this car's selling price compared to its MSRP. That will show us how large a dealer discount you are being given and if there is any meat left on the bone so to speak. Let us know what this car's selling price is and I'm sure that either myself or another helpful community member will gladly let you know what they think.

    You're very welcome, Mark.

BMW Financial Services' current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 2011 328i Sedan with 15,000 miles per year are .00130 and 61%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top credit tiers.

The numbers for otherwise identical 3-Series variants are:

    328i xDrive Sedan: .00125 / 61%
    335i Sedan: .00145 / 59%
    328i Coupe: .00160 / 62%
    328i xDrive Coupe: .00160 / 62%
    335i Coupe: .00175 / 61%
    335i xDrive Coupe: / 61%

The residual values for leases with only 10,000 miles per year are 3% higher.

The only cash incentives that BMW is providing on the 2011 3-Series right now is its free option credit promotion.
