Duh, just noticed post above has money factor and residual. But what's the payment?

    Hi Car_man.

I found out the sale price:

    ---------------------------------------------
2011 328 i w/SULEV Convertible, Nav, Prem, and Conv pckgs.
    MSRP: 52750
    Sale price: 48,860.
    Lease term:
    15K mile per year.
7700 driveoff (6K down, lic & reg, 1st mo pymt).
$472 per month for 33 month.
    Is this a good deal..?
    ------------------------------------------------

So, if you think $7.7K is too much, how much do you think is
a great deal with $0 down for 15k mile per year..? (34 months)

    Thanks..
    Mike

Without knowing the MF and residual value percentage, I would say the ballpark good deal should be under $680 per month (tax included) with 0 down, suppose the MF is 0.0019 and residual is 62% for 33 month and 15k per year. Just my guessing figure.

Hi Car Man.....once again, thanks for your help.

Could you double check your rates on the June 27 month leases? Earlier in this thread you mentioned that you thought they were the same as the 24 month, just slightly lower residuals.

In doing the math though, the numbers don't add up using the 24 month money factor. I am thinking that they are either subsidizing the MF even lower on the 27 month terms, or bumping the residual up for that term to have the lease ends coincide with the new model year rollout in 2013.

Specifically, I am interested in the 27 month MF and residual on a 2011 328i Sport wagon. Also, I am a little unusual in that I am trying to find out exactly how the residual is affected by going to 20k miles instead of the standard 15k.

    Thanks again!

I've heard that the special 27 month leases have the same residual as the 24 month leases, this month.

To go to 20K/miles per year, you'll just have to take the 15K residual and lower it by 15Kmiles X $0.15/mile.. (5K X 3 years)... That lowers the residual by $2250..

    regards,

I just leased a New BMW and found paperwork in the car showing that the BMW dealer had body work done on the car equal to 15% of the cars MSRP. My plan had been to potentially buy this car at the end of the lease and I never would have entered into the lease if I knew that car had paint work done to it. I have not yet spoken to the dealer but am curious if anyone knows what my rights are. This was done with a NJ dealer.

    Hi Bimmer..
very close in getting this deal. One more question to ask. Is there any
special insurance for leasing the car..? I heard that the dealer offer
an insurance to cover wear and tear of the car, so basically at the end
of lease term, i just drop off the car without worrying any scratch or dent.

Is this true..? Do you think that this is worth the extra pymt..? How much
    do you think is worth...?

Thanks for being patient.. I am a first time car leasor.. :)
  • bimmer328xibimmer328xi Member Posts: 13
I guess most dealers do offer this kind of insurance to make more profit from it. However it's up to you to purchase it or not. BMW is quite generous on the dents and scratches on returned leasing cars, and your full coverage auto insurance should also cover any damages during the lease term.

    Hi Car_man and kyfdx!

This will be my first time leasing and I am looking into a 2011 BMW 328i sedan (in Miami, Fl). I was hoping you could provide me with the current lease money factor and residual value for a 27 month lease with both, 10,000 miles and 12,000 miles?

From what I understand, these numbers are not negotiable, is that right?

Thanks so much for your help!

    Hi Car_man,
Your information was really valuable while negotiating. but i think the numbers you gave were for 10k miles an year.
I did end up leasing a C300 for 24 months with 10k miles an year.

    Black on Black
    MSRP 36355
Acquisition fees 1095( rolled into Cap Cost)
Star Maint package(699 rolled into Cap Cost)
    Selling Price/Cap Cost 31910

    Monthly payment 325 + tax

I paid around 800 for DMV , Title and First Month payment and other doc fees around 45.
I could have rolled that into my Cap Cost but since this is the first time i am financing a car the dealer suggested i put a little money down.
This is absolute Base car with Automatic transmission.
I did get the MB Conquest Discount.

The dealer wanted to charge money factor higher than buy rate but since i knew the june lease rates9thanks to Car_man) i paid the buy rates only.

good news is that for future payments the tax rate in CA has gone down to 7.75 starting July1.
    Loving my car so far.

    Thanks

I certainly do jaffman. BMW Financial Services' July buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2011 328xi with 15,000 miles per year are .00185 and 61%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top credit tiers.

The money factor for loyal customers is .00030 lower.

When negotiating your deal on this car, make sure to take advantage of the $750 cash incentive that is currently available on it through BMW Financial Services.

Welcome Melissa. BMW Financial Services' July buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 24 month lease of a 2011 328i Sedan with 12,000 miles per year are .00190 and 70%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top credit tiers.

The residual value for a lease with only 10,000 miles per year would be 1% higher.

BMW FS' money factor is .00030 lower for loyal customers.

I haven't seen the 27 month numbers, but they are probably fairly close to this.

These numbers are not negotiable in that dealers cannot alter vehicles' residual values nor can they lower banks' buy rate money factors. Dealers can however mark up banks published money factors to add additional, hidden, back-end profit to deals. BMW dealers are notorious for doing this, so it is important to make sure that the buy rate is being used to calculate your car's payment.

Do you have the residual and MF for 335i xdrive sedan, 12k/yr for 36 months? I see there are a $1840 xdrive and $750 lease incentive.

    Hi Car_man,
Can you post the lease rate on the 328i sports wagen. I wanted to know if this car would be a better deal than the standard 328i. I wanted 10k miles am a loyal customer and would go with whichever term yielded the lowest payments.

In the market possibly for a semi loaded 328xi in the next month. I'm looking at a 328xi with about $41-42k on the msrp with a cap cost reduction of about 2-3k right now, based on what the dealer is offering.

I want to do about $2500 down payment with 36 months and 15k miles. What am I looking for in payments with this information? I'm trying to judge it with my budget.

I test drove the car yesterday and just love it after driving a A4 and G25x but want to make sure it is doable with my budget. Its tempting b/c my dealership offers 1 year free sat radio and free car washes at their dealership, guaranteed loaners, and a ridiculous service department with amenities, just to add a cherry to the cake.

Hi hypnotics. BMW Financial Services' July buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2011 335i xDrive Sedan with 12,000 miles per year are .00185 and 60%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top credit tiers.

You are right about the cash incentives. In addition to the ones that you mentioned, there's a $1,000 cash incentive or a .00030 money factor reduction for loyal customers.

Hoping that the community can help me...

I have a 2002 BMW 330xi that is starting to show its age in a number of ways. I'm thinking that it might be time to make a move on a car.

So I'd like to continue with another BMW, but considering how I should do this: whether I should lease, or buy a certified pre-owned. I guess I would consider buying new, but am leaning against it.

    Anyway, a few considerations:
    - I street park in a busy city. Dings are inevitable. This makes me think that I don't want to buy new (as I will be all the more freaked out by these dings and scratches).
    - Though we use our car frequently, we do not put many miles on it at all: it's all relatively short city trips.
    - We would be probably be fine with a 3 series for the next year or two, but for family reasons will probably need a bigger car after that (perhaps a wagon, a 5 series, I dunno).

I know that decisions on leases and whatnot boil down in large degree to personal preference, but given the above considerations was wondering if anyone in the forum might have any perspective, or any considerations that I should think about.

    Thank you so much!

    Hi

My first post here. I want to confirm the MF and Residual for 2011 328i sedan for 10k miles, 36mo lease term. Is the MF .00175 or .00190? and Is the Residual 64% or 65%?

Also, how does one qualify for loyal customer discount?

I am trying to come up with the same monthly as advertised on bmw site (lease special) using the MF and Residual but my numbers don't match. This is what BMW is offering rite now:

    2011 BMW 328i
Well-equipped with Premium Package, Value Package, Automatic Transmission and Destination charges.
    $359*/month for 36 months $750 Lease/APR Cash Available.
    MSRP $38,125.00

    • $359 First months payment
    • $2,500 Down payment
    • $0 Security Deposit
    • $725 Acquisition fee
    • $3,584 Cash due at signing

Does any one know if they deduct 750 from cap cost which seems to be same as MSRP in this case? Not sure what am I missing here. I am interesting in leasing the same vehicle and would appreciate any help or buyer experience for same vehicle.

    Thanks,

    Amit

    Hi,
My 328i is nearing end of lease and I've been offered a residual value of 21,000. Is that reasonable ? I'm hoping to knock off 2K from the residual but that seems to be difficult.
The car is well within the mileage limit and in good condition.
Also do I HAVE to go to the same dealer from whom I originally leased the car ?
Any advice from the experts would be very much appreciated !
    thanks
  • bmwleaserbmwleaser Member Posts: 17
One important piece of information which I missed out in my earlier post -- the vehicle comes with no additional package, just the basic model + silver + ipod adapter
edmunds TMV (private party) is exactly 21,000 which is what I'm being offered ?
Any scope to lower the residual or get some other incentives such as extended warranty/maintenance etc ? Having the dealers compete with one another will definitely help but my question is can I go to a different dealer ?
  • mak1975mak1975 Member Posts: 3
    Hi,

This is my first time posting and leasing a BMW. The car in Question is a 328xi coupe.

Final cost is $42395.65 with money factor of .0024 and a residual of .63 for 12k 36 months.

Is that MF too high? For some reason I was thinking .00190.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi, I need to buy a demo 2011 335 xi with Nav quickly. I was given initial quotes of $45k+TTL or lease of $700 a month (36K, 36months, no down and monthly includes 6% tax) for the following options from two separate dealers. Does anyone think is it possible to get it down to $40k or $600 a month lease? Thanks a bunch!

    Hi all,

I'm trying to get together a lease for a 328i with premium package. MSRP is 41,025 and I'd like to go 36 months with 15k a year. I'm a member of USAA which haggles on your behalf and they said you should be able to get the vehicle for $39,078 which the dealer agreed to. However, it seems like they are adding the acq fees on TOP of the selling price. Do these numbers make sense to anyone?

Also, they said the 27 month lease deal is no longer offered for this month, can anyone confirm or deny? Thanks for your help!!

    Initial Cap Cost: $ 39,025.00
    Total Add CapCosts: $ 994.55
    M.S.R.P.: $ 41,025.00
    Adjusted CapCost: $ 40,019.55
    L.E.V.%: 63.00%
    Money Fact SellRate: 0.00230
    Base Monthly Rental: $ 545.20

I'm being told by a bmw sales associate that on a lease of a 2011 335d, buy rate lease loyalty money factor on a 27 mo lease for a 335d is .00195. Do you know if that's true or am I being mislead? Also, do you know if there is any additional rebate offered from bmw NA?
    many thanks

    Mike,

I have been shopping for the same car.. (or really close). I can confirm no more 27 month, I have been shopping 24 month and 36 month lease. I was quoted:

    MSRP: 40,775
    Sale Price: 37,500
    Acqusition: 725
    Documentation: 45
    License Fee (CA): 335
    Money Factor: .0019
    Residual: 62% for 15k 36 mos, 70% for 15k 24 mos

There is also a $750 rebate available.

    Hope this helps.

    Dan,

Thanks for chiming in. The $750 is for loyaltly right? I'm a first timer. What are your monthly payments going to look like assuming zero down?
  • sanferminsanfermin Member Posts: 12
$750 is NOT loyalty - it is just an incentive on the 3 series. There is an additional $1k for the loyalty incentive (I don't qualify either).

Looks like $535/mo + tax for the 24 month, $485/mo + tax for the 36 month.

    Good luck!

Welcome Amit. BMW Financial Services' July buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2011 328i Sedan with 10,000 miles per year are .00190 and 65%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top credit tiers.

The money factor for loyal customers is .00030 lower.

In order to qualify for the loyalty offer, you have to currently be leasing or have recently leased a BMW. I believe that BMW FS Finance contracts count as well.

In order to get a good deal on this car you should negotiate as low a selling price as possible and then have the dealer subtract the $750 from that.

Hi mak1975. The money factor that you were quoted is indeed too high. The .00190 money factor that you mentioned is BMW's current buy rate for this model. It is actually .00030 lower than that for loyal customers. It appears as though you either don't qualify for BMW FS' top credit tier or the dealer is marking your car's factor up to add additional hidden, back-end profit to your deal. Make sure that the dealer uses the buy rate to calculate your car's payment.

Hi aermet. The money factor that you were quoted is too high. BMW FS' July buy rate lease money factor for the 2011 335d is currently .00175 for consumers who qualify for its top credit tiers. This car's factor is .00030 lower for loyal customers.

BMW is currently providing a $3,500 option credit plus an additional $750 cash incentive for deals through BMW FS on this car.

Thanks very much for your response and lease rate clarification. Would you be so kind as to correct/clarify the following info I have regarding the purchase of the 335d?

    3500 eco credit
3500 "trunk money", or additional incentive from bmw
    750 rebate
1000 additional rebate/incentive for loyalty customers

I'm confused as to what you refer to as "option credit"? Is that perhaps what bmw industry folks call "trunk money" as noted above?

    Many thanks

I just went to a local BMW dealership to look at a 2011 328i MSRP was 41,525, Nav, etc. after they took off the 750 it was 40,675. I was going to put 5000 down total and they came up with a 489 a month for 36, months at 10,000 miles a year.

I assume it was way to much and walked away. Then I realized they had a 335i for 419 a month. What the heck is going on? Am I way off on my assumption?
