I finished the deal on the last day of April, so I think the lease is now up to 0.0020. I wanted low money down as that is the appeal of leasing to me. I would rather save the down payment money and have a slightly higher monthly payment.

I was quoted a much higher lease rate to start, but stuck to my price. The dealer here told me (and showed me a price sheet from BMW Financial!) that the MF rate was higher, but I used the best rate I saw on this forum for April and was prepared to walk. It helped that another dealer was involved.

    Hi Car_man,

Can you confirm the residual and MF on a 24 month 10K mile 335d lease (May rates)?

    Thanks,

    Tom

    Carman told me :

"BMW Financial Services' buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2011 335 diesel with 12,000 miles per year are .00200 and 58%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier.
The residual value for a lease with only 10,000 miles per year is 1% higher
    "

But the dealers around me all said .0024 (must be the .0004 markup), and 59% for 36 mos, and 10k miles. Also if you're interested, you can place down extra security deposits to lower the money factor for each SD (.00007 for each SD up to 7)

Requesting feedback on a lease for a 2011 335i in SoCal would be helpful. Thank you in advance.

List is $53,400 with Metallic paint, M Package, Premium, Auto, Heated Seats, Nav, Ipod.

Quoted lease payment is $625 which includes tax. 27 months, 10K miles, $1,308.15 due at signing. I believe I could get the payment to $600 even.

    Thanks for the input.

Hello, if someone can PLEASE help me here. im taking a huge loss on a lemon i was sold about $12,000 loss so i wish to know if these BMW 3 series prices are good. Model is 335 X drive
    27 month lease 10k miles.
    MSRP= $51425
    Down Payment (Cap) $3000
    Addional INcentives. $4425
so salemans states that selling price is $44000. The payments they are asking for are $448 a month for 27 months. my total out of pocket would be about $5700 i have the feeling that monthly payment would be correct without my additional $3000 down? Am i wrong? and are these monthy payments good? Thankjs

Hey jakpenn. BMW Financial Services' May buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 24 month lease of a 2011 328i Sedan with 15,000 miles per year are .00190 and 71%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier.

The numbers for an otherwise identical 36 month lease are .00190 and 61%.

This car's factors are .00030 lower for loyal customers.

Hi real1315. It would be easier for us to evaluate this deal if you were to provide us with this car's selling price. The selling prices of leased vehicles are negotiable, just as if you were paying cash for or financing them. Without this number, it is more difficult to tell how large a dealer discount you are being given and in turn if there is any room left to negotiate. Let us know what the selling price is and I'm sure that either myself or another knowledgeable community member will let you know what they think.

Hey real1315. The money factor that you were quoted is correct. Let's run a payment and see what we come up with.

According to my calculations, if you were to lease a 2011 335xi that has an MSRP of $49,325 and a selling price of $42,100 through BMW FS right now for 24 months with 10,000 miles per year, your zero down, pre-tax monthly payment would be around $462.

The exact payment will depend upon how large a capitalized cost reduction you make. A $3,000 down payment would drop this payment to around $331.

Hello all, nice forum you guys have here. About to lease my very first BMW. Already put 1000 down to get the order going but it still has not been ordered, thus I think I still have time to negotiate if needed. The specs are as follows:

2011 335XI coupe Lemans Blue saddle brown interior
    automatic
    Msport package
    Msport steering wheel with paddles
    premium
    heated seats
    navigation
    bmw apps
    HKsound with Ipod

Total due at signing: 1519.34 which consists of 1st month (730) plus bank (725) plus tax (64.34)

36 months 730 a month inclusive of ny state taxes. 16,500 miles a year. (I had to buy extra miles at 15 cents a mile as I drive alot).

    No security deposits

Please let me know if I am getting ripped off before it is too late!

    TIA!

    Hi,
This is my first time ever leasing a car, so I'm really hoping someone can help me.

New York. Lease term 27mo, 10,000miles/yr
Navigation, heated front seats, comfort access, and of course, premium/value packages
    MSRP $44975

    $436/mo
    no security deposit
    bank fee 725
    cap cost reduction 2100
    tax 1045
    other? 186
    regist/title 260
which all comes out to be: Amout due signing $4976

I'm told this is a good deal w/ memorial day discount.

    Should I get this?

Just purchased a 335i bc the 328xi i was going to lease was pre-owned and unavailable to be lease, someone brought it back within 3 days and the dealer never backed out the deal. However i was just ready to sign paperwork for $499 with $1400 down for a 27 month lease. Ended up with a 335i for $590 with $2k down, 10k miles per yr

    Alpine White w/Black Leather
    6 speed
    M Package

    MSRP - $48,125

Total out of pocket - $2083.92

We are moving to the Orlando area in August after having lived in Chicagoland our entire lives. The lease on our 2009 328Xi Coupe is up end of November, however it only has 28k miles versus the 45k we included in the lease, so I'm pretty sure they'd take it early in a heart beat. Our plan is to return in up here, then lease a new BMW down there.

My first question is - are leased different between IL and FL in how they deal with taxes and such? Also, can anyone recommend a dealer - we drove by a Field's BMW right off I-4 on our last trip, but obviously don't know a thing about them.

Finally, this will be our 5th BMW lease - so do you think they'll 'float' any loyalty programs between states and dealerships?
  • driversedgedriversedge Member Posts: 36
    Welcome to Florida!

The main difference would be sales tax. Assuming you're moving to Orange County, the tax rate is 6.5%. Residuals might be slightly different, based on region, but not drastically different.

I've been quite satisfied with Fields, so I would recommend them. They have two dealerships here in the Orlando area. Coincidentally, they also have dealerships in Northfield and the Chicago area.

As for loyalty, any loyalty rebates are sponsored by the manufacturer, so they would apply at any BMW dealership.
  • jvosjvos Member Posts: 91
Thanks driversedge. Haven't bought a home yet, but likely Seminole County.

I believe in IL they tax you on the entire 'sale' amount, not just the lease amount. Which makes the monthly payments higher. Same in FL?
  • jvosjvos Member Posts: 91
We also need to decide between a 3 convertible and a Z4 since it wasn't practical in IL. Are there any differences in the lease rates between the two?

FL taxes the monthly payment.... overall, tax is much lower on a lease vs. Illinois
The Z4 has a great 24 month lease, right now..

edmunds, yahoo and truecar each have different figures for the invoice and msrp of the 2011 bmw 328xi coupe. which is more accurate?
    thanks
  • CarMan@EdmundsCarMan@Edmunds Member Posts: 38,514
Hi blemtime. By 6-speed do you mean that this car has a manual transmission? If so, then there's probably a $3,700 or so spread between its full MSRP and its dealer invoice price. That probably puts this offer at around $1,000 or so over dealer invoice, which isn't bad. If you're in an area that has a decent level of competition, it wouldn't hurt to comparison shop a little to see if you can beat this offer, but again this isn't bad.

When negotiating your deal, make sure that the dealer uses BMW Financial Services' current buy rate lease money factor of .00195 (.00165 for loyal customers) to calculate your car's monthly payment.

Making the maximum number of security deposits on this car would probably lower its monthly payment by around $37 per month.

Hello creynolds56. BMW Financial Services' May buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 24 month lease of a 2011 328i Sportwagon with 15,000 miles per year are .00175 and 71%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier.

The money factor would be .00030 for loyal customers.

It would be the same for a 27 month lease, but the residual would be a couple of points lower.

Here's the information that you're looking for, billdct. BMW Financial Services' June buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2011 328ix Sedan with 12,000 miles per year are .00195 and 64%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier.

The first is what is the residual and money factor on the 335ix 4 door sedan at the 10000 mile/year and 36 month?

The second is when will the new design 3 series (2013? model year) be available in the US?

Your advice so far has paid off very well.

First of all thank you so much for all of the awesome info that you share here!
Can you tell me what the money factor buy rate is for a 2011 BMW 328i Sedan?
This is in Austin, TX. I am looking to do a 36 month lease with 12k/yr. The vehicle that I am looking at has Premium package, Value package, xenon lights, upgraded Harmon sound system, and dakota leather if that makes a difference. The MSRP is 41,800 and so far they have given me $2500 off and quoted me $591/month (but that includes the dealer added paint sealant and nitrogen in tires which I plan to ask them to remove from the pricing). The money factor that I was quoted was .00245 or something like that which I assume was marked up to the max, but I have not given credit yet. It is however top tier 800+.
Thanks for the help. I really want this car :-)

Thanks miketjia. Let me begin by saying that $6,000 is too much money to put down when leasing. I always advise consumers not to make large down payments on leases. Those who make them risk losing part or all of them if their vehicle is totaled in an accident or stolen and never recovered. Even though it means that your monthly payment will be higher, it's much safer to go with a zero down lease.

You really need to find out this car's selling price. The selling prices of leased vehicles are negotiable, just as if you were paying cash for or financing them. Without this number, it is more difficult to tell how large a dealer discount you are being given and in turn if there is any room left to negotiate. Let us know what this number is and I'm sure that either myself or another knowledgeable community member will let you know what they think.

I am looking to lease this car in Winter Park, FL.

Navi, Premium, Value pkg, wheel upgrade, heated seats, xenons for a price of $39,819.

What are the money factor and residual for a 36 month lease with customer loyalty?
Also, what would the payment be with just first month down (customer loyalty should waive security deposit).
    Thanks.
