Could you please provide me with the residual value and money factor for this car in NY using 15K and 36 months. I received a dealer quote in NJ for $400 over invoice (MSRP of $36522 and invoice of $32900). He is using a RV of 57% and a money factor of .002625. There are out of pocket fees for a $600 bank fee, a $149 doc fee, and new plates for $100 and the first months payment for a total of $1376. With NY taxes included the monthly lease is $527 per month. Is this a good deal?
You have been great in the past in helping get a great deal and I appreciate your help.
With MOST extended mechanical failure plans, the repair facility MUST get PRIOR authorization for the repair in question. Sometimes, that company will want to send an inspector to view the "failure". During this time, you must wait and MOST companies will NOT provide a car until a failure is VERIFIED and confirmed. The wait time is 24 to 48 hrs from the time the claim is called in. Then there is deductibles - just like health insurance or auto insurance. Some have deductibles per VISIT, Others have deductibles PER COMPONENT. And don't forget coverage - some plans have more or less coverage. some only cover engine & tranz failure. If the company DENIES the claim, the diagnostic charges or tear down charges are the reponsibility of the owner. We always charge a minimum diagnostic charge when a client brings us a car OUT of factory warranty BUT with a Mechanical Failure Contract.
Now, on the other hand ... a mechanical failure contract that is backed by the manufacturer like BMW CPO, MB CPO, Acura Care etc ... we mostly know what is & isn't covered and it acts like an extention of the factory warranty. No calls for approval, no waiting, just a quick check with the warranty administrator to confirm coverage and ... NO BS OR HASSLES!!
But NO plan will cover routine maintenance - oil changes, brakes, tune ups, squeaks & rattles, body & trim parts, convertible tops (except matybe hydraulic parts), wind & air leaks, headlights INCLUDING Xenon (VERY VERY XPENSIVE), bulbs, SRS (Airbag) system etc etc etc ... READ THE CONTRACT CAREFULLY
Remeber, you get what you pay for ... wouldn't a little more now, be worth saving a lot of grief & aggrivation later???
You have the amount wrong - if it's a 350 with a package that doesn't have navigation then the list price is around $40,000 and no dealer will give you 25% off list. On the other hand if it's a 250 then your figures are about right!
I Just bought this car (IS 250 Rear Wheel Drive without Navigation) a couple of months ago in Houston, Texas. The DRIVE-OUT price after tax and everthing is $35,000. The options include 18" Alloy Wheels with Summer Tires, High Intensity Headlamps with Adaptive Front, Premium Package, Preferred Accessory Package, Tinted windows, Striped paint and Invisible shield. Did I overpaid it?
ok so i just got back from a lexus dealership in san jose norcal california. i spent hours neg. with them. so heres what i broke it down to 32,600k with is 250 with navi and also the x package... is this a good deal ?? should i jump on it or what?? don't have much time please respond with anything fast
Message #1526 above is not a good deal if that what was paid and the car did not have navigation (I am paying under $35,000 out the door with navigation.
Message #1527 is a good deal with or without the X package (which I could have had but since I am far from being a teenager - I saw no purpose in it).
ok so i got other quotes from other dealerships, luckly i have four to choose from and another guy quoted me 32,600 but he was twenty miles away and it wasn't the color i really wanted .. but i go to the local cause the salesman tells me to come and he'll match. anyways i go and hey're upping the price on me all infront of my eyes. lolz it was hilarious anyways i was sick of arguing and so i go with there 32,880 .. after tax and all that i think it was like 35 somthing anyways everything was done taken care of and i toured the car .. they went over every little peice of crap detail with me .. which really made me even madder and then the sales rep comes back and say o i tried to get you the best rate but they weren't satisfied so they wanted to add 300 back to my total purchase price... anyways i was sick of dealing so i gave it and that brought up my total 300 more dollars after TTL anyways finally the finance guy tells me i need to bring in a pay stub and told me basically i can't drive the car off the lot till i do .. which just pushed me over the edge.. i told him if i feel like buying i would come back but honestly the is250 isn't all that great .. it's small and you gotta remember im a 6" asian guy which is more than typical. and i had trouble sitting in the car. anyways last thing said is that im not buying it all because that freakin moran thought i wasn't good for it and wasted my whole day when i could have just drove the extra 20 miles out to to get a better deal ... anyways now back to the drawing board but 250 is a DEFINATE NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi bayarea415, I just bought the IS 250 with the same options like yours here in Houston, TX with a higher price $35,000 OTD. Is the car you purchased brand new? The car sales tax in Texas is %6.25. Do you think the price of new car is different for each region in the US?
I just bought a new IS 250 RWD 2007 for $35,000 out the door from Northside in Houston. Options include Premium package, Preferred package, pin stripe, window tint, invisible shield and w/o Navigation. I already checked with Sterling McCall and Westside, and they both offered a higher price.
I don't believe that will do you much good. Not only is each region different (go into the Lexus site and use different zip codes and you'll see different packages available) but each dealership has a bottom line based on the number of cars they sell; furthermore, I have to believe each buyer is different based on whether the deal is cash - lease - or financed. I am picking up my car this Wednesday in SO. California and my price is $34,750 (OTD) WITH Navigation (List is $37,772). I'll give you the dealership name after I get home with my car.
Thanks for the info. I'm interested in a similar car in Houston this week. IS 250 RWD 2007, Prem Pkg, 18" wheels, HID headlamps, Preferred Accessory Pkg, Spoiler. MSRP $35577. From your notes, I think you paid $35000 OTD ($32800 + TTL). Right? Could you confirm? Thanks again.
I have been offered IS 250 RWD w/Nav, Premium package, HID, heated seats, 18" alloy wheels and preferred accessory package at $32,900 + taxes + fees. I believe MSRP on this is $38,120.
Is this a good deal? I am not very good at haggling Any suggestions or opinions very welcome
Lexlease, that is correct. Mine did NOT have the rear spoiler. It's hard to bargain more on IS 250 in Houston dealers. Let me know if you could get a better deal than mine...
I believe you have the west coast package that lists for $37,772. Anything under $33,000 is OK - but you can do better - mine for example with this package is $32,200!
I've been hunting for a is250 AWD with only wood/preferred package. the lowest so far is 32900 pretax w/ destination on msrp of 35700. looking at the discussions it kind of seems high. also one dealer showed me the invoice of 32000 (not including destination)...which does not match the invoice listed on edmunds..where they lying? thanks!
my tax rate is 7.35% and it's new. got like 15 miles on it when i claimed it. i think socal got a pretty good competitive price compared to other places i visited.
after reading this forum i dont think i got a good deal...just so so. if it's couple of thousands of dollars different from where you are it's cheaper to fly to socal and buy one and drive home.
by the way just wanna share with you guys. i'm able to pull in 36 to 37 mpg on freeway (going speed of around 70-73mph)!! rather suprising given it's a v6.
I'm looking to buy an IS350 within a month, can someone give me some OTD prices paid for the IS 350? and recommend some good car delearships from S. Cali? Thanks.
Just got IS250 RWD last Saturday(Feb 10th) from Longo. NO nav, prem, 18" wheels, HID lights, white on black.
~$29,900 before extras. $32,750 OTD.
Fairly painless process. Went in with previous quote from a buddy. Test drove the car we requested, then started on discussion of price. Salesperson was able to go below our previous quote if we took the deal before we left. He went back and forth just a couple times and gave us a bit of private time to discuss amongst ourselves and contact our buddy. We focused on OTD price. We were fortunate that the car we wanted (color/options) just became available that morning. My advice - these people want to sell their cars, they have a good idea what price they're willing to give you. Don't waste too much of their/your time and just be ready to negotiate briefly. We were in and out just over 2 hours. Only regret was financing thru them. initially offered 7.99 then the finance guy came back and said 6.99 take it or leave it. We have great credit 800+ so we should've just shopped around briefly, but we're gonna pay it off in a couple of years so it won't hurt too much.
Email me for salesperson's info. just click my handle above at the title of post. G'luck to you IS shoppers. It's a FANTASTIC automobile.
I just picked up my car today from Longo - $34,800 OTD with Navigation and preferred package plus 18 inch alloy wheels - car listed for $37,772 and I got it for $32,200!!!!
J_chen1, sounds like you got an awesome deal. Can you tell me which dealership you got your IS? Can I email you for the salesperson's contact? I'm in Norcal as well. Thanks!
Yes Jerry, would it be possible to scan your paperwork? would love to be able to show that to another dealer so they can match...that's a great deal...thanks!
That I can do - I just won't scan my sales receipt. I got the car from Longo Lexus in El Monte (just outside of LA) - the price (as I previously stated) was $32,200 for the navigation package that lists for $37,772. Now, I paid cash for the car - there was no trade in - no financing and no lease - paperwork for them was minimal - I would suspect your deal wouldn't be the same if you didn't have a cash deal. My salesman's name was David Truong.
I am looking at getting a new IS 350 and have gotten the following quotes. What do you guys think?
1. IS350 with X Package (color of my choice) - 39,870 + TTL 2. IS350 with Premium Package (warmed seats etc) (& color of my choice) - 40, 440+TTL
Both these deals were from the same dealership in a big city close to where I live. My local dealer's offer was about 1000 higher than this (after initial visit/ test drive). Now I have been told that Lexus isn't producing too many IS 350s because the 250s are generating higher demand & that this is "pretty much" the best deal I can expect at this time. What sort of quotes are others in this area getting? Also, would any of you Californians (who seem to be getting better deals) share their IS 350 quotes as well?
Any suggestions/ comments would be much appreciated.
I was at Longo Lexus about one month ago. I spoke to the sales guy and asked him what price I can get an IS250 OTD. He flat out said $32,500. This is with MSRP of $33 and change. Unfortunately, I was looking to buy a G35.
Longo Toyota/Lexus is the LARGEST Toyota dealership in the nation in regards to sales volume. They are able to buy large qty and get price break on their vehicles.
I bought my Is250 AWD last week for $67 above invoice at woodfield lexus in schaumburg, IL. They also told me they were the largest in the country in sales volume (they pointed to the 4 story garage in the back - which is odd for a suburb). interesting how they say that....
The difference is that you paid $67 above invoice and I paid $1000 below invoice at Longo - that may not show that they are bigger but it does show they probably have more latitude.
yeah, overall california is cheaper. it might have been worth it to go vacation there, buy the car and drive the car back. but i'd imagine it would be hard to find an all wheel drive in california. as for the bigger thing, i'm not sure who is, i just thought it was funny that 2 places said that.
Trust me. Longo Lexus/Toyota is the LARGEST Toyota dealer in the nation. Their dealership is about 10 minutes from Toyota corporate hqtr.
Anyhow, with the strength in the US Dollar over the Yen, Toyota can be a little bit more flexible with their dealers to sell as many IS250 as possible. The goal: take marketshare lead over BMW.
My neighbor works for Toyota corporate. Too bad he's not working for Infiniti/Nissan. I"m waiting for '07 G35 big markdown since IS250 is kicking everyone's [non-permissible content removed].
Hey, does anyone know what the terms are for the current lease special that Lexus is running on the IS 250/350? The Lexus website says there's a special going on through April 2 but there are no details...

Maybe southern dealers don't discount.
200 mi. south is Atlanta.
Are any discounts available in Atlanta among the 2 dealers?
Any responses are appreciated.

i'm in chicago the best i can do is 32,300 + tax (MSRP: 35,746, invoice: 31,933)
Awsome deal.
Congrats and enjoy your new ride.
Thankyou,
MSRP - $38,127 included Premium, Nav, Spoiler, HIDs, 18in alloys (same as your car except with spoiler I think)
We paid $32,600 + TTL. What do you guys think?
Btw, anyone pick up the extended warranty (7yr/100K)? If so, do you think you made a good decision and how much did you pay?
Jason

Am currently in the Seattle area and would like to share my quote. Planning to buy this Or next weekend.
250 RWD Premium + Nav. with MSRP = 37722
Negotiated OTD = Approx. 33800 (not including TTL)
Hard to beat those 32500 deals down in CA. Anyone one thinking of buying a lexus at the same time?
Can leverage multiple car discount. Yes, I am cheap!
