I thought I had a good deal on a list price $39,087 car with a $1600 discount at Lexus of Northborouh, MA. I shopped Lexus of Norwood, MA and after several counter offers from each dealer after I kept cancelling the deal from the other dealer ( ping pong match), I came away with as best I can tell a net invoice offer from Herb Chambers. I had a trade which made the final figures a little tough to decypher. Each dealer kept dropping another %500+ each time to lock the deal in and they kept calling me and loering the price. I finally took delivery at a net price of $34.2K which included a factory installed XM radio list price $800'ish. I have to tell you it took a lot of driving to each dealership and phone calls but in the end I saved an add'l $4000 over what I thought was a good deal at $1600 off. The car is a dream.
Just wondering if any of you just bought a Lexus IS 250 with Navigation and Premium Plus Package in the Orange County area and what was your OTD? I getting mine this week and my OTD will be $35,168. Is that too much? Help me out!
Just wanted to give back to the community that had offered me so much information. I just got back from Santa Monica Lexus and got an IS 250 rwd w/ nav for $34.2k OTD. That is the best offer I got so far and I haven't seem anyone with that price on this forum yet. I'm happy either way with the car and price that I've paid. Wish everyone good luck on your purchases.
Thanks for the help everyone, I just purchased an IS250 without Nav for $29,800 plus T/L. That is more than $1,600 under invoice! Great deal at Lexus of Glendale. Took alot of work but worth the savings! I don't think they were happy about that sale! Keyes in Van Nuys was close at $29,995 but $200 is $200!
Key question: did the vehicle have heated seats and the 18" summer tires? I have been shopping used IS250s, with and without NAV. The lowest I have seen with less than 10K miles is $31,980 before negotiating. If this type of deal can be had a on a new car, I will pass on the used and go straight to new! There is an IS250 in Glendale with NAV for $32,995. I can go witout NAV to same some $$.
Answer to your Key question is yes. It has the 18" summer tires, heated and vented seats, all without nav. I did some hardcore dealing with them. If you want nav just offer them the 2k more than 29,800. I don't see why they wouldn't take it. That price is without tax and license which were about 2k I think.
I know basically all GREAT deals are coming from SoCal but I was finally able to work a decent deal in Houston, TX. Wondering if anyone got a similar deal in Texas. I got the 07 IS250 with 18"wheels, prem pkg, HID, spoiler, and navi for $36.2k OTD. She claimed it was invoice price, which I have not even gotten close to with other dealerships in the past. I had the Taste of Lexus coupon for $750 off too that applied to bring it down to 35.5 OTD.
Please share MSRP & sales price before TTL. That would help to determine the deal you got. I am looking at similarly equipped vehicle and want to hammer the dealer today and tomorrow. I have noticed that they have all wanted to give the best deals before end of year.
There are 4 Lexus dealers in Michigan, owned by two companies. The result is near MSRP pricing. Here's the best deal I can find, after 3 days of negotiations. IS 250 AWD non-NAV. The sticker is $35,647 and the offer is $33,019+ TTL ($2628 discount) on a cash deal. They offered roughly $500 extra for my trade, which I guess is a small concession. Should I... 1) take it and enjoy my new ride with the knowledge that I will not likely do better or 2) Keep negotiating, or 3) fly to California, buy one at invoice and drive it home or 4) buy a Ford product at the known sub-invoice price? I have never had to negotiate a car price before as I've always had an employee discount, until now. Lemme tell you... this has been exhausting. I'm going to take a shower now.
I live in the Nor. Cal bay area. I got a 07 IS250 RWD Nav 18" wheels, premium pkg, HID, spoiler MSRP 38.1k for 32.2k+tax+fee. This may not be the best deal, but I'm amazed by my own deal. According to the dealer, it is more than $1,000 below invoice. In the end, the prices from this forum helped very much. I started out with the internet and after that I visited a few dealers and had them compete to get me a better deal. I think there is a big chance that the price will go back up once the december sale ends, so people should go out there and see what they can get.. I wish you guys good luck.
Tough (impossible?) to get a sub-invoice price here in SE Michigan. There are only 4 dealers within 100 miles and they are owned by just two companies. After 3 days of negotiations, I bot my IS 250 AWD non-navi today. The Total MSRP including the wood pkg, winter rubber mats and a trunk accessory kit was $35,746 I paid $32,531 + TTL : roughly $3200 under MSRP. Not the best deal for sure, but good for this area.... I was not previously aware of it, but many of the local dealers use the same trade-in wholesaler, so when I took my car to either Jag, Lincoln, Ford or Lexus they all consulted the same fella to price the trade-in. That said, I was surpirsed that the Lexus dealer offered an extra $1000. I know for certain that the wholesaler offered the dealer $3000 and they gave me $4000. I suppose it's possible that they lost $1000 on the trade which was a near-junker that they would not sell on a Lexus used lot. I don't care either way, but it inflated the sticker (good for them), while they just shifted money from one pocket to another. What a yummy car- dark red with tan leather. The whole garage smells good tonight.
The car was new and the IS 250 RWD only comes in 2 flavors, one is with nav and one without. They all have 18" rims with summer tires and luxury packages. I was working with Keys, Glendale, Westminister and Santa monica gave me the best price. I basicly got it for around $2500 below their invoice.
Heys guys, I just purchased a is350 from putnam in redwood city for $1500 below invoice! internet department was a little weird but hey, at least i got a great deal!
At the Lexus dealer today shopping around. It is between the G35X and IS 250 AWD, and despite the Infinti's larger size, 100 more horsepower, and additional space, I just perferred to drive the Lexus, though I'm still a little torn. At the Lexus dealer, I got to offers that I feel are good, but I'd like people's opinions. A fully loaded premium/nav/AWD for $34k (sticker at around $41k) even before negotiating (I'm sure I can get it down a little more) or a near fully loaded IS 350 for $35k, used with 700 miles (family bought it, was too small, traded it for an RX). I really want AWD, and it is more important to me than power even though I live in the sunbelt, so I wasn't very interested. Is the '06 deal good? What do you guys think I could get it down to? It is the sunbelt, and AWDs do not well sell here. The dealer told me that I would most likely have to special order to get one down here. The colour/interior combo is not my first choice (both were dark red/beige), but at the time, the colour looked great on the car. I guess my main issue I went shopping today just to browse. I have no intention of actually making a purchase until March or April at the earliest. I'm a little torn...
I purchased an IS 250 RWD w/o Navi. plus all that other stuff they put into S. CA cars for $32,850 OTD from Longo Lexus. This is the 2nd time I went and they were always busy. They are not aching for your business which is why they could care less if you walk away.I know $32,850 OTD is a little too high, however I used a $750 off Taste of Lexus Coupon (very useful) which brought my OTD price down to $32,100. He also threw in all weather mats, a winshield visor thingy, pens, keychains, & key covers. A great experience. Get some free water and pastries while you're there b/c there's a lot of wait time. Some advice from a friend, make sure you don't buy into their "I'll throw in a free 5,000 mile service" (basically an oil change) b/c that comes with the purchase of the vehicle. The salesguy tried that line on me but he felt completely embaressed after I called him out on it especially b/c I'm a chick.
Those deals sound terrific to me. I wish we could find new IS250AWD models with prem/Nav for anywhere near $35K. In the upper midwest, where AWD models are popular, it is very difficult to find a dealer willing to sell for less than 1K under MSRP, unfortunately.
Having driven my '06 IS 250AWD with those options now for 10K miles I can highly recommend it. The suspension is tuned for a sportier ride than most other Lexus models but is fun to drive, and great in bad weather. The soft leather seats take any "harshness" out of the ride.
The IS350 was loaded. I didn't really ask for the details, but it had premium and NAVI, chrome wheels, and full tint. I was really turned off by the chrome wheels and tint, which made me less interested. I'm still considering the IS 250 AWD. It's a really good deal, but I don't know where I will be living next year (i.e. I might be moving to New York City or downtown Washington, DC and won't need a car) so it is a gamble, even though I will most likely be in a situation where I will need a car.
One thing is for sure. I currently split my living between the North and the Sunbelt, but I'll definitley be buying my AWD in the sunbelt. Dealers don't get many in, but when they do, they don't sell.
I've been reading through the posts to see deals people have been getting on AWDs to get some ideas, and it seems good. Anybody here get a recent deal on an '07 IS 250 AWD/Premium/NAV? I'm thinking I can get at least $1k under invoice around here for an AWD. Problem is tracking them down, since Lexus doesn't send many here. I don't get why. Too many consumers see AWD as a "snow thing", when in reality it is an excellent safety feature and great for rainy weather.
Also, another quesiton, can somebody tell me if these invoice prices I got off the internet are correct? They seem low, but I have no reason to doubt the Lexus owners site I got them from:
IS 250 AWD: 29,141 Navigation: 2,168 Premium: 1,764
"Too many consumers see AWD as a "snow thing", when in reality it is an excellent safety feature and great for rainy weather." I've driven many AWD,FWD and RWD cars and sport utes in all kinds of weather in the upper midwest. If I didn't expect to drive much in slippery conditions I don't think I would go for the AWD version. AWD requires additional maintenance and a potential expensive negative is the tires. To prevent damage to the system you must keep all tires identical. So, if you damage one tire you could be looking at replacing all 4. Also, remember that while providing excellent traction and "go power" when streets are slick, the AWD does nothing to slow you down. The VSC, Brake Assist, and VDIM systems are what prevent you from crashing into something. Those systems are available on non-AWD models. Good tires can also make a FWD or RWD car perform much better in slippery conditions. I know of several LS430 (RWD), SC430(RWD), and ES330(FWD) owners who just use snow tires or good "all-weather" tires and seem happy with the traction they need to negotiate winter in the "snow-belt". I currently drive the IS250AWD, and couldn't be happier, but if I lived in a southern climate, I think I would go for the rear-drive.
Hi, I asked for $34K OTD at Sewell Lexus for a IS250 w/ Premium Pkg, preferred acc. pkg, HID lights and 18" wheels. The internet dealer said the price is acceptable and she is ready to close the deal. I am sure you could try a lower price and would have a positive response. Park Place Grapevine didn't reject the $34K offer but said I need to come in to the dealership to get an answer on my offer. I think $33~33.5K would be a good starting point to bargain.
the sale price was 36000 plus their normal fees. otd around 39800. it had an msrp of around 40k. i got everything but the navigation. i dont even know what the invoice was. i think it was around 37600. at least that is what the guy told me.
The MSRP price paid b4 TTL was $30,054. The options that came with the car were the 18" wheels w/ summer tires, HID, AFS, Premium Package (heated/ventilated front seats, wood interior trim, & perforated leather seat upgrade), & an accessories package (cargo net, trunk mat, wheel locks).
wow that is a great deal! I don't think that I could do that. I would be embarrased. How did you go about that? Please let me know what the tricks are!
I went to my local Lexus dealer, Lexus of Nashville. The same family owns both dealerships here in town. We had been dealing with the internet sales guy by phone and email. I told him about the deals I had seen around the US and laid the numbers on him. He told us right away that he couldn't sell us a car at or below invoice. He said he wanted us to make an offer $500 or $1000 above invoice because they don't sell cars for under invoice. He said if we wanted to buy the car from somewhere else that we were more than welcome to do so. I told him travel to get the car wouldn't be a big deal because I travel all the time anyway. He reiterated his position. I said thank you, shook his hand, and we left. My wife said to me as we were walking out, "you knew they were going to be like that". I told her that I needed to remind myself that we don't have to do business with them. We then went next door to the Acura dealer, and I got a call no less than 5 minutes later. It was them, willing to sell the car at invoice. I am going to continue to shop. I don't have to do business with them.
In the market for a new lease. Bmw lease is up end of January. Just saw the IS250 AWD and love it! Anyone have any idea where I should begin with negotiating base price. Looking for premium pkg, 17inch wheels, no NAV, heated seats. Also salesman wouldn't give me the money factor, stated we can work the numbers (HAHA). Also said Lexus does not have any special lease programs (true/false?)and that they do not have maintenance program like BMW. Said BMW is phasing it out (hard to believe) and that Lexus owners find they pay less in maintenance than BMW owners. I've had 2 BMW's(never paid a dime in maintenance fees). Please help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I hate car shopping, and want to learn as much as I can. By the way, I'm in the Balto. Washington Metro area. Only 2 Lexus dealers nearby.
Can you share your sale price before TTL? Since tax rates and fees differ around the US, knowing the sales price would be helpful for negotiations. Most of the dealers I am talking to have sold out of non-navi cars and have nothing but navi left. I live in TN and we pay 9.25% sales tax on all purchases. yes, it is high, but we have no state income tax and we can right sales tax off on our federal tax return each year thanks to Bill Frist, before he left Congress.
Hello. I got a quote of 38K (before TTL) for IS350 w/Nav, HID, 18" wheels and perforated heated seats. Can anyone tell me if this is a good deal? Thank you.
Sorry, I guess I should have said the Baltimore Area. Lexus of Towson and Len Stoler. Towson is the closest. I really don't want to drive 40 miles to buy a car. Thanks
I had not heard back from Austin dealership yet. Got a reply from Houston saying they will take 2500 off MSRP for the IS250 or IS350. I was expecting more. Thanks. I may call Sewell Lexus and see. I will check with San Antonio next.
Shopping two dealers on Long Island and with both I expressed interest in IS350 with sport and Mark-Levinson system.. the stereo being the key. No need for navigation.. they will call back with the first stages of negotiation....Not a word. From scanning the Lexus 'build your own' site there is not a one on the island with the stereo. Does it exist? The first one I uncovered is in Chicago area and that was included in with the 'whopper' packages.
I bet the internet dept in Austin would beat that price now that you have the other quotes. I live in Houston, but had much better service and deal back in July on an IS350 from the internet gentleman in Austin. He was the only one willing to find exactly what I wanted from the port and redirect it. I got 2500+ off even with the added time it took to find my specs.

Do you mind elaborating on the options you have on your IS350, the MSRP, invoice and how much you paid out the door?

When you say their internet department was a bit weird, what did you mean by that?
BTW, did you get any freebies from them? Free floormat, trunk mat, keychain or anything? Just curious.
I also live in the Bay Area.

2) Not sure how you can pay less than zero in maintenance costs?
I'll let others guide you on Lexus prices, though.. Good luck!

Anyone got it without the wood trim? Thanks
What are you talking about? There are 7 dealers within 40 miles of Washington, DC.
Thanks
just to be clear, you got luxury package with this too? that is an awesome deal!
